redwinegirl Posted August 20, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 20, 2009 Hi everyone I was wondering if you could help. Our flight home to the UK is not until 5.30pm and I understand we must leave the ship at 8.30am. I have arranged a ships tour, mainly to kill time however there are only 2 tours on offer and neither appeals to me that much. Does anyone have any suggestions? I suppose the problem is what to do with the luggage. Did anyone else do a ships tour before they flew home? Or could we stay of the ship later? I'm on Princess by the way. Many thanks:)

msmoger Posted August 20, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 20, 2009 :D Sorry having a moment there, Copenhagen!! I've had many of those myself!! :D You might want to take a taxi from the dock to the central train station and store your luggage in the available lockers. From there you are right in the middle of the city and can easily walk to many of the sites. There is a gentleman, Richard Karpen who runs a very reasonably priced and highly praised 90 minute walking tour of some of the major sites. He dresses as Hans Christian Anderson. Rick Steve's Scandinavian Guide Book recommends him also. I believe the tours start at 10:30. http://www.copenhagenwalks.com/1024x768/default.htm http://www.ricksteves.com/plan/destinations/scan/karpen.htm After that you might want to stroll along The Stroget and/or head over to Nyhavn. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Str%C3%B8get http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nyhavn By then it will be time to head back to the Central Train Station, get your luggage and go to the airport. It is very simple and quick to get directly from the Train Station to the airport. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copenhagen_Central_Station http://www.copenhagenet.dk/CPH-Transport.htm Hope this helps.
