cruising age?

so i used to think (before I started cruising of course!) that cruises were for "older people" that it wasn't something for the "younger crowd"... of course I quickly discovered that wasn't the case...

so, I'm just curious as to how old everyone on this board is (don't get offended by my asking!) and how old were they when they started cruising?

I am currently 24 and will be going on my 6th and 7th cruises this year. I went on my first cruise when I was 14. [img]http://messages.cruisecritic.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif[/img]

9 years old on the SS Ariadne. She was all of 9000 GRT and carried a whopping 200 passengers!

I took my very first cruise July 2000 ,Rhapsody of the Seas ,Vancouver to Alaska.

That was 11 cruises ago.

I am 25 and have gone on my first 2 cruises just this year!

I never felt too young or out of place! Just that there was always a nice even number of age ranges.

I am 21, and started cruising on Enchantment on her maiden voyage. That was in 97, so I guess I was 15. I was 18 on my first cruise without my parents, that was a windjammer Southern Caribbean.

I'm proud to say that I'm almost 50 ...wish I had more cruises under my belt though!! Only 2 so far, w/ a 3rd one waiting for me in 2005.

I'm 38 and I went on my first cruise when I was 26. I guess I consider myself part of the "young" cruising crowd. At least that's how I feel. (when did 30 happen??)

33, husband is 37...kids 15 and 8. I started cruising when I was 30 I believe.

40, (I don't feel 40, and 40 doesnt feel much different than 30)

First cruise 3 years ago, as 10th wedding anniversary celebration, next one is what my wife and I are giving each other for our 40th birthdays!

Hi!
I am 45 and went on my first cruise at 40. On our cruise to Alaska we were the oldest in the group of people we met and hung out with but we never felt old.

My husband is 45 and went on his first cruise at about 8 -- transatlantic days.

My daughter is 8 and went on her first cruise at 3. She has been on 5 cruises.

I want to go on my 6th cruise soon!!!

My son now cruises with me. He started at about 12 and we both love it!!!

I'm almost 49, going on my fifth cruise next year for my 50th. My first cruise was 1993, I was 38 and dh was 39. We took the kids(25 & 21)to Alaska in 2001, and we're taking them again next year, that's why I chose Royal Caribbean.

Although HAL has a good product (we're always the youngest) I think RCI has a lot more to offer us as a whole.

I'm looking to a HAL Mediterranean cruise in 2007 for our 30th. You can't beat their suites!

I am 26 and my first cruise was at 22. I have been wanting to go on a cruise since I was 18, but due to cruise age restrictions and not having anyone to go with I was not able to go earlier.
Even though I like cruises, I also like having some land vacations in between cruises, to break the monotony

my BIL has been cruising every year (sometimes 2x a year) since he was 12...now is 24 also.
There are all ranges of ages.
