Sunday walk Mullet to Mayo

We will be in St Maarten in Jan. on a Sunday. We thought of going to Mullet by taxi and walking to Mayo,I understand from a thread here that it's a pretty quick walk about 10 min. But it is a Sun. do you think that will make a differance, safty wise, things closed not as many people around, there will be 2 ships in port thar day. Any thoughts!

January is high season - lots of people in the hotels and shops at Maho. Two ships, lots more people on the island. Sunday, lots of locals on Mullet Bay Beach.

 

Seems safe, but watch out for traffic, and allow about 20 minutes, sand-to-sand.
