I can not figure out what the difference is between these categories. The cabins and the balconies are the same size. Does anyone know how they are different?

The only difference is where the cabins are located on the ship: aft, middle or forward.

When I called to get a D4 cabin with a sofabed AND a pullman, I was told that these cabins sleep 5. We just wanted a cabin that both my sons could have their own beds and this (D4) was the only balcony cabin we could afford that did so.

I called RCI and asked the same question. It has to do with location, like earlier stated, and also whether it's a connecting room. We are booked in a cat D6 room which is TOWARD the aft, and 2 down is a cat D1 for less money. I decided to book the D6 and survive being 2 cabins further from the middle of the boat.

Have a great cruise...
