apdchief Posted August 27, 2009 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2009 Sailing on Valor out of Miami in March 2010. Plan on arriving a day early and I was wondering if there are any pro's/con's over flying into Miami or Ft. Lauderdale?
BlueC5Kitten Posted August 27, 2009 #2 Share Posted August 27, 2009 Probably mostly depends on your flight schedules and whether you can get direct non-stop flights. Happy Cruising! PS - Sailed on the Valor this past January out of Miami and the airport and hotels and port are all rather close, so if you have a tighter connection time, MIA would be a better bet than FLL. MedicKen Posted August 27, 2009 #3 Share Posted August 27, 2009 We chose FLL for a Miami cruise last year soley on price of flight. Even with transport to the port we saved about $200 for 3 of us. Also look at flying back on Monday that save a bunch too.
Barbados1999 Posted August 27, 2009 #4 Share Posted August 27, 2009 taxi fare from FLL to the port of miami is about $75 one way, so that's something to consider. (i'm sure there are other ground transportation options available if you book them in advance, but ground transportation from FLL doesn't regularly go to the port of miami. .... we found that out the hard way. lol.) taxi fare from MIA to the port of miami is about $25 one way. we've stayed at the Holiday Inn Port of Miami (highly recommend this hotel!) because it's directly across the street from Bayside Marketplace (restaurants, shopping, entertainment) and you can see the Valor when she pulls into port on sunday morning before you board. we loved the valor! .... so far, our favorite ship!!! enjoy!!!
