Just wondering if it is safe to go to the beach at cahuita national park.. is it safe to take a cab there and also is it easy to get a cab back??? thank you..

I realize that this was posted quite a while ago, but my family stayed in the town of Cahuita for a couple of days in April 2016, and everything seemed quite safe, although the surf was fairly rough at times. We got to the hotel we stayed at in town via a private ground transfer, staying a few blocks from the National Park/beach, and just walked, so I'm not sure about taxis. You can walk along the beach itself, or along a path just inland from the beach, where you have a good chance of seeing monkeys and other wildlife. There are guides for hire near the National Park entrance, but they were not high-pressure in trying to sell their services. The National Park did not have an official entrance fee; it was by donation.
