Snorkeling French Polynesia on your own

We will be cruising Tahiti, Huahine, Raratonga, Raiatea, Bora Bora and Moorea. We want to bypass the expensive excursions that have limited snorkeling. Can someone recommend beaches that are easy to get to by either public transportation or taxi....thx
