  1. Correct on both counts:

can't use the card for gelato

    and

you're not the first to ask;)

NNNOOOO!!!! This is the worst news I’ve gotten today haha! I loved trading my mini bar out for coffee cards because I could use it on the gelato and crepes! Thanks :)

NNNOOOO!!!! This is the worst news I’ve gotten today haha! I loved reading my mini bar out for coffee cards because I could use it on the gelato and crepes! Thanks :)

  3. I know there are many threads on the Medallion, and I have searched already and spent the last 45 minutes trying to find my answer, and I'm tired of looking :)

It sounds like the precruise website is different from the Cruise Personalizer. Is it already set up? We cruise on the Regal on November 19, and I'm looking for the settings and personalizing our medallion etc. Just wanted to find out when this becomes available if anyone knows!

    Thanks!

  4. Who made that list? Nassau is number one!? I don't think I have ever heard someone say "Oh my gosh I love Nassau and can't wait to go back" hahaha!

Not being a negative Nancy, just don't agree with the list.

Side note: I LOVE Princess and it's our number one choice to sail, but Castaway Cay blows Princess Cay out the water! We still love Princess Cay and we just got off the Regal last Sunday and had to miss it cause of weather and my daughter was heartbroken as it's her favorite spot :)

  5. I feel like I read somewhere recently that Commodore Romano is the current captain on the Regal, but I have searched and can't find where I read it :(

Does anyone know? We sail on Sunday but haven't been getting any of the pre cruise e-mails with the info in it :(

  6. We were on the Regal Western Caribbean sailing February 7th. Captain was actually Commodore Giuseppe Romano. He was so personable and down to earth. Loved him! Cruise Director was Martyn Moss and he was the best we have had in our nine Princess cruises. He was funny and out and about the whole week.

Can only hope you have the same, but I have no way of knowing.

I am pretty sure both of these will be the same. I think we received an e-mail a while back stating Giuseppe will be the captain on our sailing on March 20. I only remember this because my mom was excited about it as he is one of her favorites. I also remember reading somewhere that Martyn Moss will be on our March 20th sailing. We had a good experience with him last year :)

  7. On the last cruise, we encountered an incompetent and grouchy staff member who did her best to discourage people from signing up for the kids' clubs. She told us the first time that there wouldn't be enough room, so if we wanted to sign them up we could just take our chances that there would be room for them. They had already been registered online and we were the second people to show up at the facility on embarkation day to register in person. She told someone else she had the hardest job on the ship. The kids (both nine) never had a problem getting in for the rest of the cruise. The place was not crowded. We even took the baby to Pelicans to play for awhile (with us there.) No problems. This grouchy staff member apparently shouted at the kids all the time. They were afraid to go near her. Once, when they were leaving for lunch, she told them (in front of their mother) not to come back if they were sea sick (which they were not and never have been) because she was tired of dealing with vomiting kids. She was a nightmare, and we reported her.

What a shame!! Which ship was this on? We have always had a great experience on all of our cruises and my daughter always loves the staff! I hope people like her are few and far between!

  8. Thanks everyone :) We understand that our friends can't come and it was just a last minute idea for them to come. However, I was just worried about my daughter not being in shockwaves haha! She has been sailing on Princess since she was 9 months old and she is so excited to be in the next group up!! She would have been disappointed. We normally sail over Spring Break and I haven't had issues in the past getting her in the kids club, and I sure hope I don't this time! She lives and breaths for the kids club so that would be devastating!

  9. We are booked on the Regal for the week of March 20. Our friends were thinking about joining us, but have been told that the Pelicans group is full. She is 8, which is supposed to be Shockwaves. When we asked for clarification they said the age group 4-8 is to capacity.

Does this mean that my 8 year olds will not be in Shockwaves? They have been looking forward to moving up after years in Pelicans!

  10. The CB this past New Year's Eve was not a formal night--just a "dressed to impress" one since it was a 4-day cruise. A lot of passengers did wear formal wear, but just as many were dressed casually.

You are right... I just remember being dressed up :) How are you doing by the way, it's your trivia partner Stacey :)

  11. New Years Eve has easily become our favorite week to cruise!! We did the Grand two years ago and CB this past New Years! Both times it was formal night. On the Grand the dining room had a special New Years menu. Both times we were given New Years hats and horns! Just like everyone else said, the atrium has a balloon drop and there is also the deck party upstairs. Both times we chose the atrium as my daughter LOVES the balloon drop. There were so many balloons we couldn't even see each other. The atmosphere is great! I think you will enjoy it!!!

  12. Hello Everyone!! We just made it home from our 4 night New Year's Eve Cruise on the CB :) Our travel party consisted of my mother, father, Husband, daughter, and step-daughter. This was my step-daughter's first cruise, the rest of us have cruised several times, especially on Princess. Here are some of my thoughts. :)

Food: I didn't encounter a bad meal! Everything was delicious! The buffet had good food and great choices. The desserts this time seemed better than normal at the buffet. My husband enjoyed the food on this cruise better than the Regal in November. We lucked out and had lobster on New Year's Eve even though it was only a 4 night cruise. I don't eat lobster, but my parents and husband said they were delicious.

Entertainment: I had been worried about this cruise because my husband and I were on the CB in June and Lee was not a good cruise director. Then the list had Neal listed as the cruise director and a fellow passenger last cruise told me if I didn't like Lee, Neal was worse haha! I was optimistically hopeful when I saw it changed to Kelly. I must say she was great! Plenty of activities, I was never bored. I'm a big trivia/game show person, and I felt there was plenty to keep me entertained. We met a wonderful couple who we played trivia with and won a couple games. Plenty of things to do including 60 second frenzy, Yes/No Gameshow, The Quest, and Egg Drop Challenge, just to name a few. My mom and daughter enjoyed the production shows. Phil Tag was the comedian, and we only made it to his adult show last night. His jokes were funny, but I could have done without the foul language (just my opinion). Farrell Dillon (I think that's his name, I could be way off) was the Comedian/Magician on board. We loved his show!! Yesterday he did a card trick class which my daughter LOVED! Everyone got a pack of cards and he taught a few card tricks for us to practice! Very well done!!

New Year's Eve is probably my favorite week to cruise. There were several options to ring in the New Year and we chose the balloon drop in the Atrium. It was a lot of fun. There was also a deck party and it looked pretty busy up there also.

My daughter is a seasoned cruiser and Princess is her favorite cruise line. She was looking forward to one last cruise in Pelicans (she is 7). When we arrived they had given her the Shockwaves schedule! Apparently there were so many kids they had to even out the groups and they made a "Junior Shockwaves" group. At first I was worried cause she wanted one last cruise in Pelicans, plus this was my step-daughter's first cruise and wasn't sure how she would be in the club. It ended up being a blessing as they needed their time apart and my daughter LOVED the "Junior Shockwaves" group. As I said, my daughter LOVES Princess, even more than Disney Cruises!!!! They did a lot of great activities and made a lot of crafts! Thumbs up to Princess Kids Clubs as they do a wonderful job!

Overall the staff was great and we only had a few minor "hiccups" I think my biggest complaint would be the lack of bar staff in places like the Piazza, Club Fusion, and Explorer's Lounge. We normally had to walk to the bar ourselves to get our drinks, which isn't my normal experience with Princess.

It was a great cruise and I am still a huge Princess fan!!! Let the countdown begin to my next one!
