  1. Yes they still have it but it’s slated to disappear sometime in the near future. And yes I get that you cannot expect spot on local taste on a crew ship I can tell you that the Indian chefs prepare incredibly authentic and consistently great dishes at the spot. The lamb stew is to die for the meet melts in your mouth.

We really enjoyed it when we were on the Dream. Hate to see it go. Do you know what is replacing it? Seafood Shack?

  2. We booked the Dream for a third time because we love the tandoor grill only to learn that is about to be removed from service. That said we also were excited to try the new pig and anchor barbecue Because we are from the south and love barbecue and we are Guy fans. We waited in a long line for about 20 minutes to get our barbecue and I could tell when I saw the beef brisket that something was wrong. It was a dense and hard and had no smoke ring. Then they piled the greens on my plate and they were covered with a slimy yellow grease and had no vinegar smell. I reach for the Carolina barbecue sauce for my pulled pork in it was the right color but again had no smell of vinegar in was a bit sweet tasting nothing like anything in any of the Carolinas. I tried to eat the greens I took two or three bites forcing myself to eat this slimy crap with no vinegar. I have no idea what that was but they were not greens this southern boy knows better. I took one bite of the brisket and spit it out. Anyone that knows me knows that I love beef brisket and I know what it is and whatever this crap was it had no business being on the menu and I’m sure guy would be hugely embarrassed if he tasted it. The chicken was just OK not enough smoke as was the pulled pork. But again Carolina style pulled pork is all about the vinegar-based sauce and there was none to be found on the ship. Is I threw most of my food away I heard other people complaining that the food was not worth the wait and there was much disappointment all around me. At the dinner table The only ones who had anything nice to say about the barbecue were the people from Michigan and being that they don’t have a strong barbecue tradition up there I will give them a pass for not knowing better. The sad thing was the dream heels out of Louisiana and poles from all the deep southern states and everyone on that ship nurse for barbecue were supposed to be in the aint this crap unfortunately

  3. I booked with Dolphin Discovery. I did it via an online chat and it was very easy. We are doing the dolphin encounter and the sea lion discovery, for 2 adults our "discounted" price was $244, includes admission and lunch. No pictures. Dolphin encounter alone was around $140 for 2 people I think.

We cruise on Saturday, I'll come back and report about it :D

Thanks! We went ahead and booked online. I got the dolphin swim and memories that includes the photos-1 printed and the rest digital-for $139 for my daughter. She will get the dolphin swim, entrance to Chankanaab, the buffet and two drinks. That is going to be her Christmas gift this year since we will be in Cozumel on Christmas Day.

  4. We were there the first week of September. We got off the ship early and got a taxit to take us there. I think we were the first people there. We wouldn't have had to go that early, but our friends wanted to make sure they got a spot to swim with the dolphins. They booked the dolphin excursion from one window and we paid for just the park at another window. They paid cash, but we used our credit card, so I assume you could do either.

Do you remember the price onsite? I am trying to see if it would be cheaper to book once we arrive or book before going?

  5. where can u buy the gift cards now that verizon stopped selling them ?

AARP and AllState Drivewise Rewards. You don’t have to have a paid membership for either of those.

Some people have had issues signing up for AllState. You can let your phone app track your driving or use promo codes for points.

For AARP you take surveys to earn points to redeem for the discounted cards.

  6. Just to add the DIY option to the discussion:

Prime snorkeling is on Klein Bonaire. There are easy hourly water taxis back and forth (travel time is about 20 minutes) to Klein B. and you buy water taxi tickets at the booth on the main street by the ship dock. Big signs...no worries

The water taxi folks are friendly and informative and point out where's the best spot to begin your drift snorkel. The current will carry you along so very little swimming required. Great snorkeling!!

If we decide to do this do they rent snorkel gear?
