  1. Maybe I’m missing something in your question, but it sounds like you’ll be stopping for lunch at the Mt. McKinley Princess Lodge and will not be charged for the meal 🤷‍♂️
  2. Sounds like Monday is supposed to be the heaviest rain, so hopefully you’ll be better off Tuesday. Glad you’re going to UT Southwestern - best in the business up here. If time and weather permit and DH is up for it, grab a burger at Maple and Motor on Maple Ave right by the hospital. One of the best burgers in Dallas. Or better yet, give me your order and I’ll drop it off to you (with maybe a bite or two missing!). 🤣. Good luck Tuesday!
  3. I didn’t feel bad after either shingles shot, but boy was my arm sore for about 5 days after each one. Like someone gave me their best punch over and over. Small price to pay compared to some of the shingles horror stories I’ve heard about. Glad my fellow Texans are getting some much needed rain. Yesterday’s round mostly missed us in north TX, but Sunday and next week look promising! 🤞
  4. My forms were all provided online and submitted before I saw anyone after I made my appointment. Good luck - it’s all very frustrating and will test those with the best of patience, which I think you exude!
  5. Sorry you are having to deal with the waits, etc. but you are definitely correct on the privacy comment. I’ve had to see a few new Drs. this month to address a hopefully minor issue and they’ve all had a form as part of the initial paperwork authorizing them which number to call, whether they can leave a message or text, etc. Make sure you have that form on file next time you talk to their office. And we got 1/10 inch rain today in Plano! First rain in 3 months! Baby steps……🤣
  6. This reminds me of a funny story on my first trip to Europe for a work trip in 2001. Co-worker and I were walking to dinner in Milan stopped at a red light on a corner and the lady next to us had a dog on a leash that I assume she had told to 'sit' in Italian, which the well behaved dog did. I looked at my co-worker and said that dog is bilingual and knows more Italian than we do, and couldn't stop laughing. It was just something you never really think about until you see it happen in person. Still makes me laugh thinking about to this day! 🙂
  7. Last post for today. We visited Piraeus/Athens in May 2018 on Celebrity Reflection. Many years ago, I acquired a small porcelain smoking baby in a voodoo shop in New Orleans - a few hurricanes may have been consumed prior to the purchase 🤣. Here’s the ‘smoking baby’ enjoying a cold beer in Athens after a long day of touring the Acropolis, Pantheon, changing of the guard, and the newly renovated Acropolis museum. This ‘baby’ has had adventures across the globe - often on a BHB! 🤣 it’s creepy but has taken on a life of its own amongst my friends. They only care about pics of the baby from here on out 🤣 A
  8. Lenda - we got some wind, clouds and a little thunder in Plano, but no rain. Looks like it all moved south quickly. But what a difference the clouds and breeze made. Only low 90s today without the searing sun beating down all day. My evening walk was fantastic at 90 vs 103. Pool was only 90 vs 93 yesterday (still borderline hot tub rather than pool - lol). Unfortunately, reality returns tomorrow. It’s been brutal and it’s only mid-July!
  9. Sandi - just catching up on this weeks posts. Please know your entire family is in my thoughts and I’m thinking of you all. So heartbreaking.
  10. Bruce - I’m ‘only’ 57 and am already at that point in my life as I plan to retire at 60 🤞. I’ve always been a everything has its place/organized person and if we haven’t used it in a year or two, it’s probably time for the donation pile (everything goes to local no kill pet shelter to sell). I want to be ready for the downsize and purge in a few years and move on easily. Unfortunately, DH’s mother is a ‘collector’/borderline hoarder and will not change. Luckily the purchases have pretty much stopped, but the 3800 square foot house on 2 acres with multiple garages and sheds are packed to the gills. She’s happy as can be with her ‘stuff’ and I’ve convinced DH it’s important to her for whatever reason so no point in trying to change that now. Fortunately, a few good sized dumpsters and an estate sale should address the issue , but will take months to organize. I don’t have kids, but can’t imagine leaving that burden to them. Kudos to you for focusing on the trip, not the souvenirs! Great plan!
  11. Congratulations! Enjoy your remaining cruise days TOGETHER. When all is said and done, I’ll bet you look back at these next few days as a some of your fondest cruise days ever.
