Puffins are also viewable, much closer, on the "In the Footsteps of the Elves" excursion out of Seydisfjordur - assuming they're still around. But "Footsteps" is a long bus excursion, so that may make it undesirable for some, for more than one reason. And puffins are viewable on the "Vigur Island" excursion out of Isafjordur, though the viewing is distant there, similar to Heimaey. Occasionally they may land on a rock not terribly far away from where you can stand to wait for them, but I had to wait 20 minutes for that to happen a week ago. And by now, they may be leaving; not sure.
Here's a picture from the Elves excursion; name of place is something like "Hafnarholmi." I took this with a telephoto lens, but I was probably only about 30 feet away, on steps that go up a hillside.
Nice picture, thanks for sharing.

This was to be our 50th Anniversary trip, also..... right now just glad we sprang for the small bit of extra square footage in our stateroom in case we are quarantined..... or there might not be a 51st Anniversary haha
Happy 50th Anniversary to you. Wishing you a safe celebration cruise🥂🍾🎉

This is not just another cruise for us. It’s the biggest outlay we’ve saved for our 50th Anniversary and has been nothing but daily stress already for weeks.
Happy 50th Anniversary. Sorry there is all this stress attached to such an auspicious milestone. Wishing you some stress free celebrations🥂🍾🎉

We 4 canceled our shore excursions last night and plan to cancel the cruise on Monday. We really didn't want to do this but after what happened to the recently reported group who are now on the bus we decided we didn't want to go thru that. This is cruise number 5 for me that I didn't get to go on because of world wide health issues.
Us too, #5. We have one for May 2022 and Jul 2023. Fingers crossed😍

My group of 4 is canceling Monday which will be day 15. We arranged our own flights. I hate it. What I hate even more is that Viking isn't stepping up and canceling and giving us our money back. But, I knew the rules. There is no way we can go on with our plans and enjoy the trip.
We felt the same, would not be able to enjoy ourselves. Sorry, know how disappointing it is😪.

What date was your departure? Did you get a refund or Future Cruise Vouchers? No Risk Guarantee gives Future Cruise Vouchers for cancellation during penalty period.
Vouchers for booking new cruises (2yr time period) but due to circumstances (being COVID) we can use them on a cruise we booked for 2023😍
-
We cancelled this cruise today. Tomorrow is the deadline. No fuss, no hassle, all monies refunded due to No Risk Guarantee when booked.
We are disappointed but feel relieved. Too much uncertainty and what if’s!

What has weather been like for your cruise so far this week?
-
Any idea what Viking does in case of person(s) who test positive and are quarantined on ship regarding money back or vouchers?
-
Has anyone done the Beluga Whale excursion? Would you recommend it?
Thanks🐳
-
Anyone have their shore excursion time changed? On day 7, Heimaey Beluga Whale Center went from 2:45 to 4:15. This gets back to ship 5:45. Ship is scheduled to leave at 6. Being this is the last day of cruise, I wanted to go have a LEISURELY tea or cocktail before dinner.
I called Viking and was told that the 3rd party vendor changed the time. Is this excursion worth the time to go and see?
Thanks🥰

We could always get lucky. Maybe they're slow leaving this year!

Thank you, Clay, for setting up this thread. We are on the August 28 cruise. Hopefully the test was a false positive. I can think of worse places to be if you can’t go ashore. Enjoy your sea day and drink.
How has the weather been there? On you tube, Affluent travel was on the sky 6 days ago sitting on the upper deck, in the sun. He had shorts on and what looked like a light jacket.😻

Thank you soooooooo much for letting me know about the “following” feature and the other info. You are surely getting (or will get) bounds of good karma. You are greatly appreciated, especially from tech challenged me😜.

Thanks for the review; my DH and I are going July 12 and this is our first on RCL and a huge ship. I was nervous about the crowds that some reviews mentioned. I feel much better after reading your review. Sounds like you had a great time.

You will get an e-mail introducing your Genie or Concierge (not sure which one you will have). We did an upsell and were notified by e-mail of our perks. Stay tuned for your e-mail. Congrats!
-
We are Sky class on Anthem. Does the concierge do the same reservations for North Star, Rip Cord and cabana that the Genie does?

Congrats! What is WS?
