  1. We are three star Mariners, and as such we get a 25% discount on specialty dining as many of you know. We are planning a cruise with some friends next year, and I’m wondering if I make the reservations for the four of us, will our discount apply to all four of us? Our friends are new to HAL so they really have no perks available to them. Thanks for your help!

  2. The last time we had the bev package, there was no “card” involved. It was embedded in our shipboard account and would offset the drink charges. I think you will be fine. Explain what you are trying to do with the bartender and I’m sure you will be sipping away as soon as you get on board;p

  3. We are on this cruise in a Suite on Deck 8 as well, and we have had cabins on that deck as well before. Never had a problem with noise and it is a great location. Don’t know if you are aware of this, but the ship is in a dry dock the end of Oct and early Nov., the suites are being refurbished with new carpets, wall coverings and updated bathrooms. Something else to look forward to on an interesting itinerary.

  4. We live in Estero, FL just north of Naples. We were very, very fortunate not to sustain to much damage. We also have power. Many folks are not so fortunate, and the City of Naples was hit very hard. Power may not return for over a week in many areas. Uprooted trees took out water mains as they fell to the ground contaminating drinking water. Lack of power and air conditioning will make for ripe conditions for mold and mildew.

The one bright spot was that the storm surge was not nearly as bad as anticipated meaning flooding, while present, was not as bad as predicted. Believe me it is still no picnic. Local stores are closed until further notice and gas is in very short supply.

Obviously, this our little part of FL, but so many areas have been affected by this massive storm. And yes, we will gladly accept all the thoughts and prayers we can get.

  5. In reading the fine print for the SBP it says that each passenger over 21 in the same stateroom must purchase the package. It further states that if a package is purchase precruise but not for everyone over 21 in the cabin, then a package will be added for those over 21 to the shipboard account.

So here's the question. The package is $5 per day cheaper precruise and we will be on the Zuiderdam for eleven days. I also have a $700 shipboard credit which I would like to use. So will this work? I buy one package precruise, with the discount of $5/day. When we get onboard they bill our account for the second package at the regular price, but our shipboard credit will cover it right? And I'll save the $5/day on one of the packages, right? Wondering if anyone else has may have done this. We have gratuities covered already, and we are booking specialty dinning and excursions ahead of time, so the second SBP will be about our only charges. Thanks all for your help.

I'm the OP of this thread and I thought folks might like to know how things turned out. I was indeed able to purchase just one SBP online precruise which did save me the $5/day. We leave in November and I believe an additional one will be added for my DW. I guess it's safe to say that my OBC will cover that, which is what I hoped would happen. I'll let you know post cruise for sure.
