Any post dry dock issues?
-
I’m also curious about any post dry dock disruptions/or lack thereof on board after this refurbishment. Hope it is minimal as we leave next Wednesday!
-
I guess the people who we would like to see this thread are not seeing it. I guess they are having great fun, so that’s good!
-
I’m guessing a thread may show up from the current voyage that may allow you to ask that question. We are also on the Nov 15th sailing.

Thanks for this thread. We board her in 10 days! Yippee!:D

We are three star Mariners, and as such we get a 25% discount on specialty dining as many of you know. We are planning a cruise with some friends next year, and I’m wondering if I make the reservations for the four of us, will our discount apply to all four of us? Our friends are new to HAL so they really have no perks available to them. Thanks for your help!

Which ship?

The last time we had the bev package, there was no “card” involved. It was embedded in our shipboard account and would offset the drink charges. I think you will be fine. Explain what you are trying to do with the bartender and I’m sure you will be sipping away as soon as you get on board;p

When you arrive turn your cell phone on and it will set to the local time.
Make sure you are in airplane mode, unless you have made arrangements for cell service in Aruba!

Here’s what I saw on the HAL website for expected recovery dates.

We are on this cruise in a Suite on Deck 8 as well, and we have had cabins on that deck as well before. Never had a problem with noise and it is a great location. Don’t know if you are aware of this, but the ship is in a dry dock the end of Oct and early Nov., the suites are being refurbished with new carpets, wall coverings and updated bathrooms. Something else to look forward to on an interesting itinerary.

We live in Estero, FL just north of Naples. We were very, very fortunate not to sustain to much damage. We also have power. Many folks are not so fortunate, and the City of Naples was hit very hard. Power may not return for over a week in many areas. Uprooted trees took out water mains as they fell to the ground contaminating drinking water. Lack of power and air conditioning will make for ripe conditions for mold and mildew.
The one bright spot was that the storm surge was not nearly as bad as anticipated meaning flooding, while present, was not as bad as predicted. Believe me it is still no picnic. Local stores are closed until further notice and gas is in very short supply.
Obviously, this our little part of FL, but so many areas have been affected by this massive storm. And yes, we will gladly accept all the thoughts and prayers we can get.

In reading the fine print for the SBP it says that each passenger over 21 in the same stateroom must purchase the package. It further states that if a package is purchase precruise but not for everyone over 21 in the cabin, then a package will be added for those over 21 to the shipboard account.
So here's the question. The package is $5 per day cheaper precruise and we will be on the Zuiderdam for eleven days. I also have a $700 shipboard credit which I would like to use. So will this work? I buy one package precruise, with the discount of $5/day. When we get onboard they bill our account for the second package at the regular price, but our shipboard credit will cover it right? And I'll save the $5/day on one of the packages, right? Wondering if anyone else has may have done this. We have gratuities covered already, and we are booking specialty dinning and excursions ahead of time, so the second SBP will be about our only charges. Thanks all for your help.
I'm the OP of this thread and I thought folks might like to know how things turned out. I was indeed able to purchase just one SBP online precruise which did save me the $5/day. We leave in November and I believe an additional one will be added for my DW. I guess it's safe to say that my OBC will cover that, which is what I hoped would happen. I'll let you know post cruise for sure.

Have a great voyage! Will be following along. On the Zudy in November.

We have done the aft cabins on the NA twice. They are awesome! They are also a little bigger as well! I think you will love it! Very cool to watch the wake from your balcony. Best wishes on your nuptials!

They do sell beverage cards but they are not the bargain they once were. Used to be a hundred dollar card was eighty bucks. No longer the case as they are sold at face value. It does make it convenient though.

Thanks for your wonderful review and pictures! Enjoyed it immensely. We will be on the Zuiderdam in November for 11 days to include the Canal, Costa Rica, and Cartegena. Thanks again.
-
My final payment date is the third week of August, so I do have some time. Thanks again.

Yes I will keep an eye on Explore4 next month, but it usually increases the price of the cruise, so I'll need to crunch the numbers. Thanks.

Have been in aft balconies on the Eurodam and the N Amsterdam on deck seven. Don't think twice both are a wonderful experience!

Congrats! Bon Voyage!

Our November cruise went down in price by $240 with the extension of the Ready Set Sail promotion. We had previously booked in April. We did not need to cancel and rebook, they just honored the price with all the same perks. Worthwhile to check your pricing if you are already booked and outside of final payment.

Does the app support multiple people such as husband and wife, or does each person need their own phone? Thanks.
Out of drydock, how does Zuiderdam look?

Will definitely give it a shot, but I’m not too familiar how to post photos here on CC:confused:
