The world is flat. I know that’s the case. Lots of people on this forum have written to me agreeing with me. As I look through my window, I can see two men in white coats. I guess they’re coming to say they agree with me. Just going to welcome them in.

Unless you can book late, Celebrity’s prices for European cruises have become very high in the past two years, even without the Edge premium. Our first four cruises were with Celebrity; last autumn we went with Cunard, and our next four are all with P&O or Cunard. Celebrity is probably better than P&O, but not twice as good! Celebrity is different to Cunard, but not significantly better overall. The £’s fall against the $ hasn’t helped, of course.

It’s just like the new Cunard site, which has been ill-received on the Cunard board. Some really silly errors, like describing cruise J915 to Canada as also visiting the US, which it doesn’t. Very hard to search for cabins. Crap.

No need for cash in my experience of Norway.

Received an email as a consequence of a recent Aurora booking; it linked, as usual, to a web-based survey which I duly completed.
After the last question, it took me to . . . the Cunard front page. Oops!

No I was meaning exactly as I said as I always get my foreign currency be it US$ or any other country before I leave the UK from bank, TA or whoever gives the best exchange rate. I never use ATMs to get currency whichever country I am visiting as especially as I mainly cruise and not usually in port for very long I dont want to waste time looking around for ATMs.
It's your choice, but it's costing you money!

Why would I want or could do that all I can get from any ATM in UK is £££ and being British I dont need £££. When I need $$$ for my visits to the US I have to order them at a bank, travel agency bureau de change and the exchange rate is today approx $1-28 for my UK£.
I think the meaning was that you use an ATM in the US to get dollars. You don’t “have to order them...”.

Thank you for your response Stuart. He may prefer to wear this suit for an informal night.
For which it would be perfect!

Share price dropped significantly today; non-shareholders may want to move quickly!
Disclaimer: your capital is at risk, etc etc etc.

I doubt if he would be turned away, as there may be many men in cream tuxedos. However, he might feel a little conspicuous; whether that worries him is up to him!

Good advice kalos, but if a Halifax Clarity card is used for ATM withdrawals, it's good to remember that interest accrues from the withdrawal date so best pay it off as soon as you get home. Other transactions are interest free subject to full payment when that's due and at a very good exchange rate.
But in reality, the actual interest over a couple of weeks will be negligible.

Take a few, and use ATMs, preferably with a debit or credit card which doesn’t charge extra for foreign currency transactions or cash withdrawals, such as Halifax Clarity. We just make sure we have a few Euros at the end of a holiday, and take it next time.

Thanks for the replies - cabin booked!

Thanks - Norway in March may not be the time for the pool! ;-)

Wondered if anyone has experience of the aft-facing OV cabins on Aurora, please? Eg A309 to A314, C302, 304, 306, 321, 323, or D209, 211, 212, 214.
I have searched the forum!
TIA, Stuart.

Only 5% booking normally at the moment!
Cunard gave us $415 OBC each for a 14 day Baltic cruise, and a price slightly better than Select when I booked on board.

Hi! Taking first P&O cruise in September, but also interested in a March 2021 cruise.
What benefits might I reasonably expect if I book for 3/21 on my 9/19 cruise, please?
thanks, Stuart.

However, that is only used on embarkation day.
Well, if you're going to make a big issue of it, they're also put in place for the evening prior to disembarkation.

Those actually do serve a purpose. They're to rest your luggage on while unpacking, so that the comforter doesn't get dirty from any grunge on your luggage's wheels and bottom surface.
On Cunard, they supply a special robust and waterproof cover laid out ready for your arrival in the cabin. Much more effective!

The only change is a possible reduction in the number of gala nights and jackets optional on first night. Actual standards are unchanged.

I am so impressed with how reasonable the IONA prices are. I know the weather isnt great at that time of year and the seas might be choppy but we have preregistered for a suite for a 2 week Canary Islands cruise in Jan for jusy iber £4000! This is half what a suite would usually cost! Cant wait!
But note that Iona suites are comparitively small:
How does Cunard compare with P&O, both being Carnival-owned?

Except that both Cunard and P&O have recently launched inadequately-tested new web sites, which look very similar, and have all the same problems!
