  1. Out of my eight cruises, I have generally had very few problems.

On my first sailing on the Legend, we had a couple of small problems I do not remember. Then, the straw that broke the camel's back is we went to an event that was supposed to be in the spa, they directed us to a waiting area, and then we just waited. About 15 minutes after the event was supposed to start, we went back up to the spa desk. They acted like they had no idea what we were talking about and had no idea we were waiting.

I was already annoyed about a few other things, so we went to guest services and complained. We were given 4 drink coupons, but it was the day before the cruise ended (next day was debarkation) so we only used 2.

  2. Thanks for the help everyone. I decided to book the train for Monday morning and miss seeing Vancouver for this trip - I decided it was better to see one place well, rather than two places a little bit. It also seems I would really be missing out if I took the night train. Thanks!

  3. I am looking at booking our Amtrak Cascades trip to Vancouver for a Carnival cruise that leaves on a Monday afternoon. I want to take the Sunday night train (leaves at 6:50pm and sunset is 7:43pm) so that I can have two days in Seattle (Saturday and most of Sunday) and still see a little of Vancouver Monday morning. I am hesitant because it seems the train ride is very scenic and I don't want to miss that either if it will be too dark. Thoughts?? Or will it still be nice in the dark??

  4. I am curious to ask why people take any time dining then go at 5:45?

what is the purpose? do people get stuck in anytime because the traditional has no more space?

We go to dinner at 5:45pm each day. We have your time dining because we can always sit at a table for two. We were often denied our request for a table for two in traditional dining.

  6. Love cave tubing - I did it with cavetubing.biz and it was awesome and totally worth it.

We also did a tour of the city once just by finding someone at the port. He was wonderful and it was one of my favorite excursions ever.

I highly recommend getting off the boat in Belize - it is my favorite port in the Caribbean - the people there are wonderful and different than others in the Caribbean.

  7. Sorry OP, the only way to get OBC after final payment is if you book Early Saver. We did the same thing booking the Magic at the end of this month. Price has dropped over $200. Them is the rules.

    +1 This is accurate.

  8. Yes sorry she is joining me on the second half of my B2B and flight is in around 1pm. She is going straight to the port. So as another poster siad to meet her at the port, I will be on board already. And it would be 3 bottles since I have 2 for me and then 1 for her.

    Sorry for any confusion!

Oh, that is too bad. Unfortunately, I still do not think it will be allowed.

  9. I brought my husband with me and called guest services beforehand to make sure. They said that yes, of course I could bring a guest. They did not question it at all. It would not have been very fun to go by myself and leave my husband!

On the flip side of the argument, what kind of party invites one spouse and not the other? It is just common sense.

Some level of guest should be allowed, at least spouse/cabin mate.

  10. It sure seems like the exact same thing is happening to all of us. Very fast denials before they even have time to look at it. This stinks. Very poor customer service. They are trying to play both sides of the fence by using their price guarantee as a marketing tool to get you to book in advance, but then not honoring the price guarantee so in reality they've sucked you in at a higher price that will stand. Just what Carnival needs right now is more damage to their image and reputation.

The price guarantee is different - you have 48 hours to find a lower price. What this thread is about is booking Early Saver, which means you get price drops up until two days before the cruise.

  11. I booked this cabin today Early Saver for October 2015. I'm curious if anyone in the past has had luck on price drops since there are only two cabins in this category. When I read the details of early saver it looks like to qualify you have to be comparing exact same category stateroom which would pretty much mean my chances for a price drop are zero. Has anyone been successful when a higher category room dropped below what you paid for the 6K? This is my first time booking with Carnival so I'm looking for any tips since I have 14 months to watch for price changes!

I have *heard* from others on the forum that they have successfully price matched if a higher room (in your case a balcony) dropped below the price they paid. I would like an answer on this too, as I have an aft balcony booked for May 2015 with only two other aft balconies remaining.

  12. On a really BAD day...he's a lot like the Rainman character in that movie with Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise. On a good day, somewhere between Max from the show Parenthood and Dr. Sheldon Cooper from Big Bang Theory. :)

Right...I know what aspergers is, but would have never known was an aspie was, just assuming it was a sports team or something.
