  1. Remember you don't experience the sea in an inside cabin- you experience & feel NOTHING- no salt air, no waves, no sounds, no sunshine, no rainbows, no islands, no ports, no cruise ships passing , no nothing..again, would you book a hotel room on the beach with NO windows?? The difference IMO is that on a balcony, you are part of the sea cruise experience, and in an inside, you are NOT ( for sure)..did you ever hear anybody say as they walk down the hall towards their inside cabin, "can't wait to get into my inside cabin!" :o..nobody is dying to get to their inside cabin..BUT I know everytime I walk into my balcony cabin, a NEW ADVENTURE outside awaits!! :D..that's the way I feel about this...

    Big Al

Right on Big Al...We ALWAYS book a balcony; some times an oversized balcony cabin. We leave the door open at night to hear the ocean. Like having our morning coffee on the balcony just as we do at home. We can also work on our all-over tans (we're nudists and don't want tan lines).

  2. We always take a balcony cabin. We had a cove balcony on the Dream a few years ago. Wouldn't do it again. Lots of early morning noise from furniture or other items being moved (dragged) across the floor above. ALWAYS check to see whats above and below your cabing befor you book it. Take a cabin that has cabins above and below you.

  3. A few years ago we were on a Carnival cruise - don't remeberwhich ship but it may have been the Conquest. We were home about two days when we got a call from Carnival asking if we had left a woman's watch in the safe. My wife checked and sure enough she had. It was so small that it probably was behind the lip of the safe. It was found when they cleaned the room - they check the safes to make sure they are left unlocked.

I've stopped taking my Nikon DSLR and just take a point and shoot - it's a pain to have to worry about leaving all that equipment in the room.

  4. Does anyone know if any mainstream cruise lines or ships have a clothing optional area? I'm not asking about a nude charter or completely nude cruise, but a "regular" cruise that allows nudity on a secluded deck of the ship. I'd never get my partner on a nude cruise, but I do like enjoying a little naked time occasionally when we're on vacation, and wondering if such an animal exists. Thanks!

Don't know of any that still have a topless (titty deck). Since the instalation of water slides (they're higher than the top deck) they've done away with them.

A suggestion - if you're cruising out of one of the ports on Florida's east coast, why not leave a day or two early and visit one of the clothing optional beaches. There is a website from the state of Florida (visitflorida.com) - go "beaches" and scroll down and you'll find "nude". Click on it.

  5. Same here re: balconies. Which beach in FL if you don't mind. We've looked into it, but haven't found definitive answers online.

Blind Creek Beach on South Hutchison Island (Route A1A) between Fort Pierce and Jensen Beach. It's on the ocean side just nort of the Florida Power & Light powerplant. Go to treasurecoastnaturists.org. BTW - I'm on the board of Treasure Coaust Naturists - we are a registered non-profit - 501c7 and we provide porta potties for the beach. Go to Visitflorida.com. Click on Beaches and scroll down to Popular Beaches and click on Nude and it will give you info on all the nude beaches in Florida.

  6. We're arriving to St. Maarten this fall on RCI Adventures of the sea. I booked this specific cruise to visit the ABC islands as we love to snorkel! St. Maarten is our last port of call and I know nothing about it.

What do we do here? Is it also a great snorkel port? Shop? Beaches? Sail?

    Help?

We go on a cruise that stops at St. Martin at least once a year. We take a van ($7 p/p each way) to Club Orient (not just Orient Beach) and enjoy a great NUDE DAY working on our all-over tan at this French resort - because it's private there are no vendors pestering you. It's very quite and laid back. Just bring sunscreen and towels. $7 each for a chaise lounge and $6 for an umbrella. There's a resturant and a snack bar - prices are reasonable. Don't be surprised if you run into fellow cruisers.

  7. Poppy42; I see that you've done Club Orient. I've never stayed there but have visited to beach many times when I get to St. Maarten. How did you like the place? Clean rooms? Thanks. I've been thinking of doing a week there myself in the near future.

We've only gone there for the day while on a cruise. We liked it very much - very European.

  8. i did a ship tour bridge included was totally fascinating as , and your post reminded me of what the second in charge said of seeing people sun baking nude in the cameras that show the whole side of the ship both sides not sure if it was only the ones with out cover that they could see i would say only them deck 10 on golden has half cover the one above maybe fully covered??

anyways what people do on their balcony is their business for the newbies just be aware the crew on the bridge may see you do it , if that doesn't phase you thats cool as :)

If they want to look - let'em! People only come in two models - once you've seen them both, you've seen them all. Yes, different shapes, sizes and colors but only two models!

  9. Haulover beach is awesome. There is also playalinda in port canaveral and I am told to the left is LGBT friendly. The nude area is section 12.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

There is another beach between Playalinda and Haulover. Blind Creek Beach on South Hutchinson Island between Fort Pierce and Jensen Beach. Check it out - treasurecoastnatutists.org. The only facilities are porta-potties paid for by donations to Treasur Coast Naturists. LGBT friendly. I'm there once or twice a week with my wife. Very family friendly. No problems with the sheriff - they randomly patrol the parking lot and come out to the beach.

  10. You won't get many repliss to to this. This is kind of a taboo subect. Personally, I say live and let live. For instance, if you want a personal tan on your balcony I say go for it. If ou happen to have a nosy neighbor, be abrupt and try to shame them out of it.

My wife & I are life long nudists - we're now in our 70's. About ten years ago we were sunbathing (nude of course) on our first day out port. This woman stuck her head around the divider to say hello. I waved at her and asked if she wanted to join us. Guess nudity wasn't her thing. Her loss.

  11. A balcony is the only way to go. My wife and I are life long nudists - we're now in our 70's. We love to sit on our balcony, work on our all-over tan and read or nap. We had a woman poke her head around the divider to say "hello." I waved and asked if she'd like to join us. I guess nudity isn't her thing. Also we pack less.

  12. Both. Some nights there are production shows (on most ships now with pre-recorded music) and other nights they have audience-participation stuff like Hasbro The Game Show and Newlywed Game.

We were on the MSC Divinia in December - had great production shows every night - not guest participation shows - sorta spoiled us but we really missed the comedy club on Carnival. Hated going out of Miami - Everglades & Canaveral much more convenient.

  13. It's been about a year since we sailed on Carnival. I have a question about the shows. Do they have a REAL show every night or do they still do shows using fellow cruisers (i.e. Dating Game, Newlywed Game)?

  14. It's been about a year since we sailed on Carnival - the Conquest. We don't remember if they had a REAL show every night or were some shows using guests in shows like Dating Game or the Newlywed Show. We don't consider using fellow cruisers as real shows. Just got off of the MSC Danvinia and they had great shows every night. We did miss Carnival's comedy club though.

  15. We like an early breakfast - MDR opens for brunch too late. Eating breakfast and lunch in the MDR gives us a chance to meet fellow cruisers as we share a table. On our last cruise (MSC Divinia) we met a couple at breakfast who live about 5 miles from us - we've become friends and now see them socially.

  16. We've been on about ten or so Carnival cruises - last being January 2016. We liked to be served our meals and were disappointed that the DR is only open for brunch on sea days and not for breakfast and lunch. Is this still the case? We just got off the MSC Divinia and their DR is open for all meals when at sea & breakfast when in port including disembarkation day.

Would like to go back to Carnival but this could be a deal breaker.

We find that we eat less than we would at the buffet.

  17. PoppyandNana -

My wife and I are in our 70's. We've been to nude resorts & frequent clothing optional beaches here in Florida once or twice a week. There is one thing that nudists DON'T do and that's body shame. So what if the woman was large - BIG F**KIN DEAL! None of your business!

  18. Well, it is certainly easier to pack using just a carryon when you don't need to pack clothes but most of us do need clothes. Frankly you do not want to see me naked LOL.

We're nudists. We go to Blind Creek Beach on Florida's Treasure Coast once or twice a week. It's a clothing optional (c/o) beach You'll find that nudists do not engage in body shaming. We've seen all shapes & sizes including women who have had a mastectomy. BTW - I'm 73 & my wife is 71. Find a c/o beach and enjoy - nobody cares what you look like.

  19. For a cruise - one roll-on suitcase each, one small bag that will fit on top of the roll-on + back-pack for meds, valuables and credentials. Easy self-disembarkation. We laugh at those that struggle with a lot of baggage. We did one trip to Italy for two weeks and one to Spain for two weeks with carry-ons (BTW one week was in a clothing optional resort). For a cruise I have a silk sport jacket that doesn't crease for "formal" nights. Other nights - Dockers & a golf shirt. For my wife - pants & a blouse (dressy one for formal nights). Did one week at Club Orient (clothing optional) with one carry-on for the two of us + a back-packs.

  20. I never had sunbathed nude or even topless but had a desire to do so for several years. However just never got a chance to do so. This year I am planning to make that happen.

I am going on a cruise in the end of December that stops at St. Marteen, going to visit Orient Beach and go to the nude portion of the beach.

I travel solo, so I am a bit hesitant to go there alone. Hopefully I will meet some people on the cruise who want to give it a try as I do.

Go to Club Orient - it's a private club on Orient Beach - facing the water, it's on your extreme right - and you won't get hassled by vendors. We were there in January and paid $20 for two chassis's & an umbrella. There are restaurants if you want to grab a bite to eat. We'll be there in December too - on the MSC Davina. If you're ever in Florida, there is Blind Creek Beach (Google it) on South Hutchinson Island on the Treasure Coast. :)C/O, :)friendly people, quiet. We go at least once a week.
