  1. I agree with a previous post if Azamara turns into a Celebrity clone that is a mistake. Just off a Celebrity TA where in my opinion the class system is alive and promoted in a manner to upcharge in many areas even charging for basic shuttles to town, etc. 20 plus on Azamara and 9 on Celebrity but I can not see a reason to return which many fellow cruisers on this trip felt the same way.

We just received a reminder email “

Final Payment Reminder for Your Upcoming Cruise”

    stating:

We are excited to have you join us on your upcoming cruise. As we approach the departure date, we kindly remind you that a deposit must be made by May 1st to secure your reservation.

Please note that failure to make the required deposit by May 1st may result in the cancellation of your reservation. We wouldn't want you to miss out on this unforgettable experience, so please ensure your deposit is made as soon as possible.

Our only booked cruise is summer 2024

must be a mistake but makes me nervous nevertheless (deposit is paid).

    Anyone else ?

Same response only did not complete a booking only trying a fake one to find what cabins were available.Could not find a way of the mess and four days later got this reminder to pay deposit or lose the booking. We have a 50% credit from Africa cruise concerning yellow fever so there is incentive to book another cruise with however I have found Seabourn cruise at a lower price with larger cabin, etc. I wonder how many customers will stay loyal or simply start looking at other cruise lines that fit their booking parameters going forward.

  3. On Celebrity site the change made on 11-25-2013 and the stated conversion was 1 credit to 30 Club Points.I added all points up on Celebrity site because their system was also down and I will compare once both sites are running.

Yes, I was there.  Tatiana indeed kept her cool as she tried to unscramble all the chaos caused by the  YF issues, including helping passengers who wanted the vaccine get them locally.  if I recall correctly we all had to re present COVID vaccine info too even though it had been scanned previously.  I found that a bit understandable as a process for organizing that info wasn’t really in existence.  However, still messing with FCC that had previously been committed is even less assuring.

I’m sorry to hear that the uniqueness of this particular cruise can’t explain why you’ve experienced repeated similar problems.  I know it took a while for our FCC credits for a cruise in China to materialize, and that was in Nov 2019.  Id be interested in how that finally gets resolved.

Situation resolved actually new to me a 4th choice on Azamara's phone system to resolve post cruise problems. Rep confirmed my problem and said my FCC credit would be linked to my booking number for that cruise. Also I was not alone and it seems other  people were omitted on each   group of submissions from the ship to the main office. I am keeping all documents until a future cruise is booked just in case.

  5. I assume your cruise was the recent Western Africa on Journey which we were on and found the hotel director more helpful than Guest Relations. To illustrate I discovered 2 days prior to departure I was labeled having the yellow fever vaccine even though our exemptions for yellow fever were scanned by guest relations early in the cruise. So now my FCC is in limbo even though I attempted to correct prior to departure and probably results in the post cruise system involving RCL. After 20 cruises with Azamara and similar problems on the last three cruises I wonder if a change is in order. Who needs these post cruise problems.

  6. We are on this cruise and totally agree that we get one port which many have visited on past cruises. A better solution in my opinion is to find a port in Northern Africa also to even out ports visited. Also poor communication and timing of the switch can not make anyone happy. It does not appear much effort was taken to find suitable substitutions based on the time factor.

  7. Just off Pursuit with several comments on expectations. Number one is that Patio remains closed in the evening with no explanation given. Number two is that Premium beverage package listed is dated with less than one-half of the beers available and it seems intent to finish off their inventory before replenishing their inventory which means staff may have to scramble for your beer. Number three is that greater guest interaction, less mask wearing and more overall positive vibes on the ship versus the last two Azamara cruises in October and November on Journey.

  8. On Journey right now and the Patio change was a change from our first sailing two weeks ago. We thought the change on this ship might be due to low passenger count of 107. I agree with Ross in that we generally alternate between the Patio and the MDR for dinner so it feels in some ways like assigned seating of the past. With 18 cruises with Azamara  we feel the food has never been been  better.  Hopefully increase in passenger count will rectify these temporary changes.

  9. Online check in with or without Trust one code still took less than 20 minutes after your assigned group was called based on when you gave them your luggage.Tests were done prior, midway and near end of cruise. Second test was just a walk thru with no waiting.

  10. We also are on this cruise but I think that the reason for the change is not easily found on Google but if you refine your search to recent killings in Kenya for December you will find eleven people were killed on a bus there on Dec 6, 2019 in Northeast Kenya. After the volcano in New Zealand involving  a RCL ship I am sure the main office wants to avoid another problem. I am sure the extra time in Tanzania will be fine.

  11. When I  see posters overreact whether this situation or some other unforeseen event I wonder whether those posters were as proactive in their jobs or just like to nitpick every issue in life. Personally the excursion looked interesting but not in our price range, but we like to explore and not worry about this unlikely event.

  12. Unfortunately we opted to do back to back on Pursuit (july 27 to Aug 13) which fit better with our granddaughter's schedule and prefernce. However we are interested in Africa and would like to do that one. If you remember the dates, let us know this way or we will email you once you guys get home and settled. We did Celebrity last summer with our grandsons and had the same experience.

  13. I totally agree there is a lack of imagination in the cruises for the rest of this year. Not only are the ports the same but there are more 7 day cruises which are not appealing with air travel issues of the world today. Been on 5 of 18 cruises with Azamara but going forward not much to get overly excited about at this time.

  14. It seems beer has always been considered the inferior product to wines and mixed drinks. Sometimes at dinner all wine orders are taken and then maybe your beer order will be taken. Unless more people make beer an issue nothing will change and the focus will remain on wines which the cruise line thinks is more important.

  15. we were in athens this fall and used X-80 from Acropolis directly to the port. I believe another bus X-96 goes directly from the airport to the the port for a few euros per person. Our bus had only 10 or 15 people on board and the bus driver was very helpful in boarding and leaving. The drop off is only a two minute walk from there. Hopefully this info is helpful.

  16. Resort casual can be quite misleading. On the last 2 AZ cruises I found that most nights in the MDR I wore dress sandals, consequently in packing for the last cruise with AZ in Oct. I only packed sandals and sneakers to save room. On the second or third night in the MDR midway thru dinner the head waiter approached my table and said my footwear was not acceptable.I said that it was ok on previous cruises with AZ and I did not pack dress shoes and would he want me to leave MDR now?. He said No and left the table. We finished dinner and most of our conversation was about this topic and upon leaving the MDR the same headwaiter approached us and told me that he had made a mistake and the footwear was acceptable and the basis for his initial reaction was other attire issues that evening.Even after the apology I could not help but wonder if this would happen again, should I pack dress shoes in the future? and did the head waiter handle this matter correctly? Any comments?

  17. Hello

We have contacted a tour company in Sicily. We would like to tour Mt. Etna. Does anyone else have an interest in joining us? The price varies with the number of people in the group. The company is called Sicily Life. We would like to spend most of the day hiking Mt. Etna. It sounds like the driver would be flexible as far as the amount of time you can spend on the mountain. The tour is called "The Etna Experience & Taormina. Is anyone else interested?
