The Cruise Compass said it was $70 for the first passenger, but the sign says $82.  Is the sign inclusive of gratuities, or is the Compass wrong?

If the compass notes $70 + 18% great, comes really close to $82.   Question for the OP, MrFunintheSun,  interesting to find out If the individual price is $70/day/pax +18%. Our C&A provides us a discount as Diamond +.  We are on-board Harmony in 3 weeks time. Any added info on drink pkg would be helpful.  Thanks

Happy to report we are home. Alarm is set, Owen’s school lunch is made and laundry is sorted for tomorrow.

    Guess who welcomed us home.

After things settle down in the next day or so I’ll get final thoughts together and report back.

Thanks for following along this far.  Hope you make it to the end.

Ottawa then London. 16C there right now.

On the plane now. Off to Canada’s Capital. The lady at the gate said the noon flight gets scaled back regularly. 🤔

Glad I got a Whopper pre boarding.

I’ll be back when we land in Ottawa and are settled in.

I think we just saw the AC bird fly over our house in SW Ont.

    Welcome back to  #wethenorth , #shethenorth

I will often wait a day or 2 into the cruise and buy Voom on board using the C&A discount.  This approach assumes a few things.

My cell phone works in the US, Canada and Mexico as part of my home rate area.  If an itinerary has a quick overnight before arriving in a port of call in the US, Canada or Mexico I can wait a few days then buy Voom on board cheaper than buying it.

Ovation to Hawaii starts in Vancouver.  It sails to Seattle as a port of call, then leaves for Hawaii.  My phone will work until around 6pm on day 1.  Day 2 we are Seattle where my phone works.  Day 3 we are at sea.  By waiting for day 3 there are 7 days left.

    7 x $19.99 = $139.93 minus C&A discount.  I'm now D+ so $139.93 - $45.98 = $93.95.

    Assuming a cruise planner price of $13.99, 10 x $13.99 = $139.99.

My approach saves $46 but I won't have internet at night when the ship is at sea until day 3 when I buy Voom.

I do the same when Key West is a port of call on day 2.  I wait to buy Voom on day 3 and "survive" disconnected nights 1 & 2.

We are D+ as well, and seems like for us, waiting until day 2 or3 to purchase with the C&A D+ discount end up being the lowest per day cost. Spouse and I with C&A likely to use her free 24 hr period, then buy in on a day 2 or 3 once we do the calculation.  Day 1, is in home port, so cell phones work until departing into the evening along the Fl coast.

    The Count, sorry no.

I did find this though. Totally different if this was the swingers cruise.

Not our type of club or drink of the day.

Tend to stick to Caesars  for breakfast, beer in the heat of the afternoon, martini before dinner, great wine for supper, then cocktails for the shows. Finish with a nice port or aged Zaccapa 23yr rum or Grand Marnier as the night cap.

    Travel safe.

  6. Good morning and happy Day 9 of a 7 day cruise! WOW that sounds crazy.

Andrew, did you by any chance locate/see the on board price for Deluxe drink pkg and ZOOM internet, in the standard US $ on ship?  Seeing there is a weekend promo on pre-cruise planner and based on our Canadian loonie taking some beating on exchange, we are debating to wait for on ship and Diamond + discount or pre-purchase in the planner with our CDN loonies.

Thanks for any info if you can either post or PM the details.

Happy day off Labour day from your SW Ont followers. Back to the grind on Tuesday and counting down to our trip in 34 days, but who is counting!

Owens goes on a dryer as soon as it is home for 3 hours. Does the world some good.

Good on you guys for taking care of the equipment.  I run the 7 arena and rec facilities in my city and I along with my staff certainly can tell you some really really smelly stories of equipment stench.

Cool and overcast here in SW Ont today. And the Day 9 Compass is likely one of those keepers of the trip.

    Travel safe.

Dinner was filling. Tasty too. The meat was cooked just right as well. The ribeye had flavour. Skip the Mac and Cheese. Service was quick. We were done in an hour and were not rushed.

Peter our waiter was a joy. He has been in the cruise world since 2003 starting with P&O and 3 contracts later joined RC. He started as a pastry chef and worked his way through the kitchen and dining room and eventually ended up in specialty dining. He has worked on Brilliance, Vision, Grandeur, etc and had only recently entered to Oasis Class of ships. Thankfully there was a lull in Chops to which we could chat for a few minutes.

Now, for the person curious to the soup, it seemed like the original mushroom soup but then you had me second guessing.

Owen commented that the liked the croutons and boom. Look what appeared.

Copious amounts of meat were consumed and we somehow polished off part of a cheese cake and a small amount of ice cream.

A great evening. We tried to run the father/son golf grudge match but the links were backed up. Maybe tomorrow.

Late response to the chops meal. Hope it was good. We are considering skipping  chops this time around. Somewhat over-rated IMHO compared to my smoker prime rib or rib-eye.  Glad it was a positive experience for you.

I was actually thinking of changing the date of the booking. I was told that would mean a new booking number and all cruise planner purchases would be cancelled. Did you change the date?

Started with On-board booking well over a year ago, then Cruise planner purchase, then transfer to TA, then price drop via TA, then moved booking - same ship by one week via TA, then RCCL cancel with full payment via TA.  Each issuing new numbers and continued BS from the RCCL or for what is being communicated back to us, the PAX.

    >  As noted # frustration is being polite on my/our end.

  10. Well, our from experience, we had pre purchases on cruise planner cancelled, new confirm # issued due to  moving booking to agency,  got ripped off from pricing paid on Black Friday for cruise planner item,  had RCCL indicate our booking was non-refundable when in fact it was voted on-Board and confirmed as Refundable. 4 new confirmations being issued each time anything taking place including price drop guarantee adjustment.  So to the original question, they didn’t offer you a possible 4th situation. Here it is:

    > RCCL will do what ever they want, give you no options, take away your OBC, and offer you no paper trail or audit trail on this as resolutions has stated to us, they don’t have audit trails of cruise planner, just the booking, but that too, is open to question.

Our current “battle” for an upcoming cruise has been exactly that, a battle on all fronts both RCCL and with the TA not getting any answers or response no matter how high and hard they are pushing to resolve. #satisfactionNOT . To the point we considered cancel and take back only what would be refunded under the policy, but then, they win and we lose. Not going to happen.

    #frustration
