Do you mean you up graded your flights ?
-
My understanding is that all Marella ships will be all inclusive permanent.
-
We were on Discovery last 2 weeks in August. I have to say there were plenty of staff, yes they were busy but had plenty of time to stand and talk to us and each other.
-
I only drink Yorkshire tea at home but it didn’t taste the same on board. I drank the breakfast tea instead.
-
Got of Discovery on Saturday. Drinks definitely not watered down. I drink Bacardi and coke it was so strong I had to wait for some of the ice to melt. It tells you in the menu that their measures are 40% bigger than in a uk bar.
-
We are on D1 soon and plan to book S and T. Where do they serve the hot stones menu pls.
-
Hope it is for you - the other port is 90min coach journey
Have you checked your itenary as I read Discovery was no longer going into Kalundborg.
-
coffee and croissants not delivered at 7:00 a.m.
Bed sloppily made.
No fresh towels.
Waste basket not emptied.
Geez, just because we left anthem on saturday, is that any reason that the pampering should stop?;p
reality is hard.
😂😂😂😂

Hi have you not had an email telling your the Port change ? We did for August, the ship is going into Copenhagen now and not Kalundborg as previously stated.

Hi All
I can't information anywhere that lists the opening times of the restaurants on Marella Discovery.
Anyone out there know - and while I am at it can you just turn up any time without having to go at a specific sitting time.
And one other thing - are there plenty of tables for two. Not that we unsociable but when eating like this we prefer our own company.
Cheers.
We always go for a table for 2.

Absolutely wonderful thanks. I'll do a review when I get a minute. Weather helped to make this an amazing cruise
I look forward to it, it will be our 1st cruise with Marella.

Get there for 11 am. We have just got back and we arrived at 11.15am and boarded at 12.30. The ones that arrived later had to wait up to 3 hours. Embarcation is a real mess and needs looking at
Ok thanks, did you have a good time x

We arrived back home last Saturday.
The 2day Must See tour with Alla was very good - extremely well organised with a very knowledgable guide, Vladimir, who spoke excellent English. Passing through immigration was very straightforward, taking only about 10 mins on day 1 (as we got there ahead of the ships tours) and a little longer (about 15 min) on day 2 as there was more queuing.
We were a small group of 6 in a minibus, which made getting around really easy. The 2 sit down lunches were very good and made a welcome rest. We opted not to do anything in the evening, which I think was the right decision for us a we were very hot and tired!
That sounds really good looking forward to it.

Parking is available at Port of Tyne where you check in for and board the ship. We booked the parking as part of our online cruise booking with Thomson, but you can book direct on the Port of Tyne website http://www.portoftyne.co.uk/business-divisions/cruises-and-ferries/directions-and-parking.php
It was £10 per day through Thomson and looks like £12 per day booking direct. Your luggage is taken from you by the car park staff when you arrive there and delivered to your cabin. When you disembark your cases are taken from your cabin (night before) straight to the car park to await you.
We did this a few weeks ago.
Any other questions please ask.
Hi what time were you able to check in and board pls, we are driving up from the Midlands and plan to get there 11ish.
-
Is breakfast served in the mdr every day pls ?
-
We have also just booked the 2day Must See tour for the Baltic Capitals cruise ( in SPB on 28&29 June). Alla tours do offer an evening program of either a folk show or the Ballet, but I understand from Irina that there is no time to return to the ship after the daytime tour. They will take you to a cafe in the city where you can get something to eat and change clothes if you wish.
We have also decided to keep the evening free as we will probably be too tired, especially with another full day of sightseeing the next day.
Hi I’m guessing you might be home now how was the tour ?
-
Sorry. I had work to do! I'd love to mention what I do for a living but fear getting sent to the CC Pokey. But as you can see I'm back now. The unwanted to guest will arrive soon. And I fear you'll be underwhelmed or disappointed.
Maybe I should pull a Hucifer here and leave the boards for a few weeks to drum up anticipation.
Noooooo. Pls don’t 😢

We have booked with Alla for the Must See tour in August. Looking forward to it, they are very easy to book with.
-
We enjoy the speciality restaurants and tend to buy the 3 meal package price before leaving home. Equally we are just as happy eating our evening meal in the buffet.
-
If you book the transfer with the cruise company they will have to wait for you.
-
We haven't sailed with TUI before. Can you register online at home before the day ?
-
Ive never understood the thinking behind paying several thousands of dollars for a cruise and whinging about a couple hundred dollars in gratuities.
Totally agree an I'm a Brit.
-
Dining & Culinary staff: $6.25
Case in point of cruise lines overcharging. If I only eat dinner in the MDR, then for my family of 4, that's a $25 tip for one meal. Yes, I know some people eat 3 meals in the MDR, order 10 drinks a day, have people bring them room service, towels, etc. But, that's not us. I'm not being a cheapskate with this, but that's out of line for a tip for my one meal. Thus, everyone is different. If you feel like the "suggested" amount is appropriate for the services you receive then by all mean keep the auto tips. I don't, but I do tip a reasonable amount based on the services I receive in cash at my discretion.
So you don't eat breakfast or lunch then.
-
I'm not complaining at tipping during this cruise, I just do not feel people that had insanely little impact on my cruise deserve the same amount of my money as someone who has directly taken care of me. I do not feel the guy who is watching the kiddie pool deserves an equal shake of my contribution compared to the server who excellently serves me a three course meal 5 nights in a row.
As for fees, yeah it has gotten out of hand. The two worst are online ticket sites, who charge you for a ticket, then a convenience fee per person, then a service fee per person, then a handling fee per person. Turns say $50 tickets for an event into $75 a ticket at the end.
I' pretty sure the pool attendant isn' included lol
First cruise 😳😳😳
