  1. Who are you diving with in Cozumel? You have a huge choice of operators there to choose from.

In Princess cays you only have the choice of the princess excursion due to it being a private island.

I can't comment as to the quality of the dive there as Princess didn't offer a dive excursion when we were there a few years ago. I'd probably dive there as, like you, opportunities to dive in warm water are few and far between for me.

  2. Century docked almost in the middle of the town in Stavanger, Norway - May 2007.

The "gammle" section of town with the small wooden houses next to the ship.

    (I hope this works....)

It did indeed work quite well. That is a nice photo. Pleasant departure from the usually Caribbean themed photos, not that there is anything wrong with Caribbean photos.
  3. I had to go to properties, copy the link to view and then the appeared and stayed in the post.

Or if you are on a Mac like I am, you can control click on the image and choose "open image in a new window" from the popup menu. Once the new window opens and you get the "can't access this image" message, click in the address bar then hit return. That will make the image load.

  4. I was stung in Florida once and it was an experience I never wish to repeat.
Ditto, except it happened in the Puget Sound right across the upper lip. Aldolphs meat tenderizer is supposed to help with the sting. Wearing a full wetsuit will definitely help to minimize the chance of being stung.
  5. several of my dive buddies have mustaches and do as scubaran suggests. Just trim a bit under the nose and get a good quality, properly fitting mask and he should be fine. Also, be sure to properly clean the glass on the mask before the first use. Just take a bit of toothpaste and rub it into the glass like you were polishing the glass, which you are doing. That will remove the silicon residue from the manufacturing process.

  6. Not all the stores in Cozumel will "haggle". Some, like Los Cinco Soles have fixed prices.

I always thought that St. Thomas was the place for jewelry shopping. Cozumel is for diving and buying vanilla or tequila.

  7. If you do rent a car, you don't have to stay at any one beach club. Driving south from town, the first club you will reach is Uvas. Stop there and see if it is to your liking. They don't have the water toys that attract families with kids. If you don't find that it fits your needs, continue south until you reach

PB wasn't crowded any of the times I was there last week. but if they are too many people, continue on south to Playa Palancar.

You can take a snorkel trip from here. Near shore snorkeling won't be very good for a while, so a boat snorkeling trip will give you better results.

If you continue around to the other side, which is worth the drive, stop at Coconuts.

  8. IAnother place is San Fransisco Beach Club, sorry don't know if its adult or family oriented
San Francisco beach club does have water toys and it is directly next to PB.
  9. Bruce, thanks for those pics.. and to others, your info is great. My question is there any news from the other side - chen rio, etc?? And no 2, where exactly is uvas beach club??

Be traveling soon. Thanks in advance. LRSkier

Oh, did you want east side photos? Here they are:

    East side photos

Chen Rio is open, Coconuts is open, Mexcalitos and Senior Iguana are both open, but their beach has suffered some erosion. The road around the island is open all the way.

Uvas is just a little bit south of the Fiesta Americana but before you get to Chankanaab. It doesn't have much of a sandy beach, it that is important.
