Being under the buffet is something I would not pick given the choice. You may not have a noise issue but it is probably higher there than most other places.

 

I don't think any part of the ship has PASSED any other part of the ship. :D

Hi everyone!

So I just got assigned my guarantee balcony cabin for my Getaway cruise on May 22. I am mid ship Deck 14 which is the highest deck of cabins.

Has anyone had a balcony cabin on Deck 14 on the Getaway before? Thoughts? I believe the buffet is above us, would that be noisy early in the morning?

Based on pictures, it looks like there is an over hang from the above deck that jets out at least a few feet passed the balcony. Just wondering if anyone has any comments about that?

So happy you got your cabin assignment!!! Sounds like a great location....now we just have to make it a few more weeks which will hopefully fly by!!!

The wait is over, I got my room assigned today for May 22 on the Getaway!!

We got a mid ship balcony room on Deck 14 :) BA category. I'm very happy with the location!

Our friends ended up in a large balcony forward deck 9. A tad jealous lol but I know we will be able to hang with them out there! Only thing that sucks is that we will be boarding at different Terminals.

How exactly did the time change work?

I know Roatan and Belize are 2 hours behind Miami. Did they go back an hour the first night and then another hour the next night?

So now it is showing that there are other balcony categories available again. But when I click them it says this category is sold out lol.

Today the NCL site says that every balcony category except for the Aft balcony rooms are sold out for my cruise. But I still don't have a room assigned lol.

You're probably right - I see in my notes I wrote down "we have to change the clocks back another hour and should be in Honduras by morning" ...I just didn't see where I wrote down that we had already changed them once?? I know we never changed them by two hours - just one at a time so maybe we changed Sunday and Monday nights?? the whole thing was pretty confusing. I see why they do it otherwise I'm sure people would be asking the locals for the time and missing the boat but I'm bad enough with two time changes a year not four in a week AND we flew across them too so I was gaining and losing hours all over the place - LOL!!

They do tell you at night if you have to change the clocks so don't worry - it's not something you have to figure out on your own. There will be a note card with your towel animal if you're supposed to change the clocks that night ....

ah ok thanks for the info! I thought maybe you had already turned it back an hour the first night. That does make more sense doing it 1 hour at a time to ease people into it. I'm sure it'll be ok, I had read things about the time changes on this forum before. I was just curious to officially hear how they did it for this new itinerary! :)

Could you tell me how you check how many rooms are left in a category? When I go on to make a "fake booking" it doesn't let me see available cabins. It automatically takes me to the "guarantee price" and doesn't show me cabins to pick from, even if I select just inside (I don't select guarantee). Is there a time frame that might be too close to sailing to see empty cabins? I sail June 5th on Breakaway and wanted to know how many insides are left.

I don't think NCL shows exactly how many rooms are left in a category. When I posted my comment about how many rooms seemed to be available, I was going by which categories had already said sold out. Some balcony categories for my May 22 sailing say sold out, however on the June 5th sailing, none of the categories were sold out at that time.

As for you not being able to select any cabins when doing a mock booking, I'm not sure why its automatically taking you to the guarantee only options.
