I just have to make a comment and put this entire thread in perspective for
myself and my husband.
Believe me, we hope we have the opportunity to cruise again and pay gratuities and extra tips to our steward, rather than sitting in a chemotherapy room twice a week hoping for the best.

Just Mike......
As stated above, if it's the Emerald, we'll have 'um!!!

Mike,
You just made my day after reading you're above post. It's go great that we
can count on you to get the gang rolling. Just need the green light from Princess and for all to stay healthy.
So cute that you already have your cabin listed!!

Don't know if it really works, fortunately I never had it tested, but I've read
in various places that bed bugs don't like dryer sheets. I always put lots in
suitcases, carry-on's, etc. Even in my purse.
It can't hurt and makes everything smell fresh.

We were surprised to find out that there is a shortage of bed linens on the Crown Princess. Not every storeroom is getting their linen changed during the week. Also , some cabin attendants have told us that even on turn around day they are short linens. We will attempt to speak with senior officers tonight about this disturbing change.
I am hoping you are able to post the response you receive from the senior officers. I am always monitoring how long it takes the steward to hang a clean shower curtain after I board and ask him. Now I have to worry about the sheets. Wow.
Most of us cruise to relax and leave the worries at home. Now we have to stress about the sheets. Wondering if its worth it.

I think Princess handles each situation different as far as any type of reimbursement.
Two years ago on the Crown on a Trans Atlantic from Southampton to Lauderdale, a huge storm came into the area, called St. Jude. The ship stayed in port in Southampton for three days, as it was unsafe to proceed through the English channel. Out of 16 days, we only were able to stop at two ports in order for the ship to get back to Lauderdale on time to start it's next cruise.
The crew was great, with all of us on board for so long and the only thing that they ran out of was lettuce.
Although the entire episode was all weather related, Princess very graciously refunded all passengers one week fare of what we paid plus port charges.

They don't deliver the omelets. You go to the omelet station and tell the person taking orders what you would like in the omelet.
They give you a paper with a number on it and they keep a copy as well, with what you ordered. Usually, I would go around the rest of the buffet to take what other food I wanted. Then go back to the omelet station, give them your paper and they give you your omelet. You also can just stand and wait for them to prepare it. They are pretty fast.

I don't think Princess is saving any money by not having the "BONG" when getting on and off the ship. It's strange, but I loved hearing that sound. Just
put me right in that cruising mode.

Hi,
Go to Princess site.
Don't log in.
Go to search cruise vacations.
Look up you cruise.
Second screen should have current airfare for that cruise.
Good Luck..
Thanks, BRANDEE
for your quick response and Yes! I learned something new.

I have an EZair flight booked for next year. Where do I go to see if the fare has changed to possibly get a better price?
Thanks

Only Granny Smiths will work. When seas get rough, there seems to be bowls full of them in the Horizon Court.
Add a few saltines and I always bring ginger capsules or candy, and I made it through some extremely rough seas.

If gratuities are pre paid and the cruise has to be cancelled, how are the gratuities refunded?
Pam
-
Can't add an FCC to a current booking. The only way you would be able to do that is cancel your current cruise, pay any deposit penalties or insurance penalties and rebook using the FCC.

Bob,
Sorry the ship couldn't make Newfoundland. The people were so gracious as we visited on our Baltics trip. I never saw so many people for our sendoff. Unfortunately, I don't think Newfoundland is one of our ports for
next year. We go straight from Iceland to Boston.
All of a sudden, I can't access the spreadsheet. Says I need your permission.
Another thing for your to do list when the party's over for this trip.
Safe travels and calm seas,
Pam

I'm not sure about breakfast and lunch, but I have heard they are asking at dinner to be sure Traditional Diners and not coming to dinner at the Anytime restaurant.

A bit off topic, but for more info, join your fellow passengers for your cruise on the roll call at:
http://http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2177276
We have the most informative and active roll calls for our October 17, Crown cruise I have ever seen. The first roll call has already been closed down by the Cruise Critic hosts for too many posts, and a new one started.
300 and growing on our roll call!

We're boarding the Crown Oct. 17 for 28 days in the South Pacific. Our email said Kelvin Joy. Hoping for him but you never know.

Should special items booked with a cruise, such as paid gratuities and the
Sip and Sail promotion show in my cruise personalizer and travel itinerary?
Mine are only showing on the confirmation I have received from my TA.
Thanks,

Hello again-
Back with another question as we geer up to board the ship in October.
Do you recall if, on Bora Bora, after tendering if there were shuttle to go back and forth to Matira Beach? I've read from older reviews that there were, but
not sure if it is still available.
Thanks again,
Pam
-
Cancel. It's hard enough getting in and out of the catamaran, not to mention
the bouncing during the trip.
-
Thanks KatyX. It looks walkable if you take the path around the shell station.
We'll be staying at the BW the evening of Feb.20. Is it somewhat still light
in Seabrook around 6pm-7pm?
Thanks again,
Pam
-
I think they are the only ones who include free shuttle to the port.
We really liked the BW and plan to stay there next April again. The only drawback is that although they have an excellent complimentary breakfast in the breakfast room part of the lobby, they do not have a restaurant or cafe for dinner and none are nearby. No bars either.
They do have vending machine food and a microwave in the room to heat the tv dinners and Hot Pockets.
There is also is a Subway sandwich shop close by but no restaurants.
The other amenities and the room was worth that inconvenience for us.
You could take a taxi to Kemah Boardwalk or restaurants in the area.
Does anyone know if the Subway shop is within a safe walking distance, or just by car?

Thanks all. See you in a few months, Paul.

Will I receive two set- ups under the elite program on a B2B with the same booking number?
Thanks,
Pam
Another ez air question that i can't find an answer
in Princess Cruises
Posted
Can't seem to find an answer to this situation. I know I can call Princess, but I always worry if I am getting the correct answer.
Here goes...If my husband gets the OK to travel from his oncology doctor tomorrow, I will be booking a cruise in June to the Med. The cruise will be booked through a travel agent.
Question: I want to use ez air for the flights. Final payment will be due when TA books the cruise because of sailing in June. I don't believe I can choose a flight until the cruise is booked. Can I book my flights after she makes final payment, then tell her to pay for the flights, since they are do at final payment. Or am I unable to book a flight once final payment is made.
Thanks for any input you can share.
Pam
