Looking to read some first hand experiences regarding the flight and process from Baltra Airport, back to Quito.

Specifically, was it orderly and would I be able to book a same day 5PM flight from Quito back to the US?

Upon arrival in Quito, it was the final departure for us and many of our new friends.  Again, hugs and goodbyes were had.  Some staying in Quito for more tours, some flying out the next day and a few, like us with a red-eye flight later that same night.  Those with flights later today were taken to the EB Hotel which is only about 10 minutes from the airport as opposed to the 50 minutes to the JW Marriott downtown where the others were taken.  We had about 4-5 hours of time before we needed to be back to the airport and the convenience of having a day room at an extremely nice hotel was a bonus.  We were met at the hotel by a Celebrity agent, shown our rooms, told where to get the included dinner and then what time we needed to head back to the airport.  We headed up to the room.  It was very nice with a big comfy king bed, a massive showe with dual rain shower-heads.  Much needed bottles of water were on the desk as well.  Needless to say, we each had a long hot shower, then a nap and then dinner.  Just the right amount of time for all three without feeling rushed.

 

 

About what time did you land in Quito? I’m looking at a flight back to the US that leaves at 5pm the same day, but I don’t know if that will be cutting it too close. 

I’ll be following along. I’m supposed to go there in about 2 weeks on the Equinox and not a single excursion has posted yet.

As others have stated, the menus have changed. I have the new menus and pictures of each dish served, I just need to find the time to create the new thread. Hopefully in the coming days I’ll be able to at least get it started. ☺️

Must be nice. I can’t justify spending a measly $5 when I paid upwards of 10k for a cruise. Talk about nickel and diming someone.  It’s so tacky.

Most 'dirty people' will still be dirty even after they wash their hands.  Maybe the ship can install a 5 minute alarm that requires all patrons to get up and wash their hands when they hear the tone.  That should keep the dirty down.

Or, the ship could serve passengers in the buffet.

Good idea, but my concerns are more from dirty people who don’t wash their hands before entering the buffet. 

FWIW, Celebrity does not require masks indoors if you’re vaccinated.

There are many recent threads on here about what will happen to the Infinity. It’s all speculation, no one knows on here. 
 

Seeing that the Infinity was dry docked to make her suitable for sailing to Antarctica, I would think Celebrity has no plans to get rid of her. But again, this is just my logic.

Thanks for the info. And no problem, I hijacked a thread about Bermuda to ask a kinda irrelevant question. 

I probably don’t want to know the answer to this, but I am sailing on the Breakaway in November and NOT going to Bermuda. Will I receive a deep nasal swab for testing at the pier or will the swab go up my noise about 1 inch?

Long time NCL cruisers who tried Celebrity over the summer for the first time. 
With the exception of theater shows, Celebrity beats out Norwegian in every category. 
 

I have FCC I need to use up and then after that I’m most likely done sailing with NCL. Too many small things that have added up over the years has left a sour taste in my mouth for the brand. 
 

I have been blown away with how accommodating Celebrity has been both pre and during the cruise. 
 

I never understood why people said Norwegian nickeled and dimes you until I sailed with Celebrity. 

You know someone in the main office thought this 60% off sale was a genius idea and the executives all sat around a table laughing about the potential number of people they would trick into a booking. 

What did you upgrade from and what did you upgrade to?

If you took a free at sea offer and upgraded it to unlimited, the unlimited I believe only applies to one device. So if your girlfriend wants unlimited as well, she needs to pay the full price since you took the free at sea offer and converted it to cover the cost of your unlimited internet.

Yes there is. Please read full post by OP. 

Yes it’s included in the package.  It’s a relatively cheap dinner so most people pay a la carte and save the dining plan for something more expensive. 

Oh God. These Haven reviews are not good at all😞.

You could probably make a 9am flight but if there are any delays between the ship and the airplane gate, the probability of making it on time goes down.

Completely agree with you. Used the concierge once and he was extremely put off that I asked about making reservations. 
It turned me off from the whole experience and haven’t used the service again.
