  1. Thanks; Another vote for Keep I have read some of your other quotes on some threads and you have always been very level headed and honest Dot

Just looked up your cabin, Liberty 8357 on a site and someone added on 2/13/14 photos and that it has twin beds and they were pictured..looks like a good sized 1A and one with twins on the floor that can be put together...Sincerely, Sarah

PS...there looked to be a chair, 2 nightstands, and beds that faced the desk vanity, flat screen tv, selves there and closets to left of desk setup and bathroom across that and entry inbetween. There is also a bunk in ceiling that goes up to not quite flush but almost. Probably made it a 3 person 1A as they decided enough room...looks to be a very nice 1A...Sarah

  2. thanks for the replies; I too saw pictures by people who were in the cabin and it shows 2 twin beds, So you can see why I am confused since their are still people who say they know it is one upper and one lower.

I guess we will be taking a chance I only have till April 6th to decide whether to keep the cabin or cancel We are way too old to sleep in an upper berth.

Maybe someone who has been on The Liberty in this cabin will send me some recent pictures of the sleeping arrangements

    thanks again

  3. My husband and I are diamond, but not on Carnival.

how many cruises or days do you need on RC

we have 7 cruises and s50 days pm RC

and what is the next level up on RC (I know RC treats their loyals very nice

but if we only went on RC we would have half the cruises we do

My favorite is Disney but they are WAY too expensive

  4. Thanks for info! Glad you enjoyed your trip. We sail in 8 days and are looking forward to it :) some questions if you don't mind..,

Did you notice new carpet or flat screen TVs in your cabin? Which deck were you on? What is Chopsticks? Did you try Bonsai Sushi and did you notice if they still had the sushi appetizer cart out before dinner at all during the cruise? Thank you!

When we were on the cruise (Feb 23 there was no sushi appetizer cart, but they did have a taste cart; something different each day. One day samples from the Steakhouse

  5. Lots of medical emergencies lately! A poster who sailed last week said there was one as well.

I'm assuming your cabin wasn't dusty or dirty then? A couple people from last week and the week before complained about that. I figured it was probably from renovations.

Our cabin showed no sign of dust; saw a few strings from where new carpet was layed though

Thanks for the info and have a GREAT trip!!! I'd like to know when you get back how rocky the ship was as well. Normally doesn't bother me, but first time the kids are coming with us and am completely stocked with stuff for them just in case. Been about 3 years since I've been on a cruise! Enjoy yourself!

We had really smooth seas and sunshine everyday

  6. great review; sorry that guy gave you such a hard time. You handled it better than my husband would. Keep up the great review and better luck at the next port

We took a tour bus back to the main entrance and quickly jumped into our rental car to get back to the Thrifty rental office by 4pm. We flew. Threw caution to the wind and did about 90 almost the whole way. It was disgraceful. I'm embarrassed, but we just made it back. No one there. The office was open but no one answered when we called. I wandered through the whole building; behind the desk, back offices, the bathroom, no one. We went outside and yelled and whistled and finally someone came in and said, extremely rudely, "I was counting the cars." I said ok, we'll run across the street and get gas then. We came back and after he got the keys he said, "Oh the last shuttle left." I said I contracted for a ride both ways from this office. YOU changed the time and I STILL made it back and your shuttle left EARLY?! He tried to say it left on time, but we both knew it left early. My son asked why he was being so rude. The shuttle driver then showed up and he told him not to give me a ride! It was then that I threatened his life and he called the cops. lol The cop completely understood. Told me to hire a lawyer, but there's nothing he could do and to take a cab. I didn't want to freak my son out so we just called a cab and I figured I'd fight the charges when I got home. Believe it or not I actually read this guy was an ass online prior and still rolled the dice. Shame on me. DON'T USE THRIFTY! The cab was only $15, so no bid deal. It is what it is.

For some reason my phone didn't charge while plugged into the car today, so I forgot and left it charging in the room when we went to dinner, so unfortunately I don't have any pictures from this meal. Brad started with the Shark and Langoustino Fire Cracker Roll with Salsa Verde. I had the Fried Shrimp with Pickled Cucumbers and Plum Sauce. For his main course Brad had the Braised Lamb Shank in a Burgundy Sauce marinated with garlic and fresh herbs and braised root vegetables. I had the Grilled Marinated Pork Steak with Grilled Zucchini and Sautéed Sliced Potatoes. For dessert I had the "Bitter and Blanc". Warm dark and white chocolate bread pudding with vanilla sauce and Brad had . . . ready for it? Warm Chocolate Melting Cake. lol

After dinner we walked around and checked out the end of some trivia in the Piano Bar then I took Brad to Camp Carnival for some video game contests and Bingo. I hung in the casino bar a bit with some friends but didn't stay too overwhelmingly long tonight and went back and watched some of The Internship on a movie channel in the room before turning in for the night.

  7. Thanks for info; I can not climb stairs so am happy I take elevator up to watch all the young'uns having fun.

I can't wait for your Dream review; we have been on her 7 times and she is one of our favorites.

ps: Jamie was our CD on the Dream and was wonderful

Thank-You Dot. Yes the aft elevators will take you all the way up to Deck 12 (which is the Sports Square Deck). The water works area is one deck lower than the Sports Square
  8. Here are the pictures from our cabin door with the Door Decorations...

This was what we decorated for on the Sunshine but we have had other themes in the past....I am going to look through all my photo albums and see if I can find any other pics

My dad and I were just talking today about what we should decorate our door for in April on the Dream.

Fabulous really great; if I had a ship on stick I would give it to you for the best decorated door

we once one a sos for best decorated door on the Dream, but I found out later we were the only ones to submit an entry. I don't think they do it any more for lack of interest.

  9. Yeah we did. For the cruise on the Sunshine we decorated our door with a "Our Road to Platinum" theme. I had a picture of every Carnival cruise we had been on with the date of that cruise and the ports we went to.

We decorate our door for every cruise.

We decorate our doors also; Helps us find our way to the correct cabin HaHa

Do you have a pic of your door?

You have helped us so much for our May Sunshine cruise. Thanks again

  10. the staff has control; some have different questions each time (one told me he gets them off the internet in his spare time)

If you have ever played trivia with Benjamin you would not care what the questions were. He is so funny to most (some think he is insulting) but even the staff come to watch his trivia. He use to be on the Dream but was traded to another ship. He was like a Don Rickles SO Much Fun We just laughed and laughed.

  11. if you are on deck 5 you will have a great view looking out but not much looking down. If you are on deck 4 only a small view depending on lifeboat position.

I think you must be on 5 so the view will be ok. the first number of your cabin tells you which deck you will be on /definetly not Rivera which is deck one.\

  12. Thank you so much for the heads up. My dad will definitely miss Guys Burgers on the Dream. How was the BBQ area on the Dream and where was it?? I'm looking forward to trying that on the Dream.

And I'll definitely be trying the pasta bar on the Dream

The BBQ was on deck 5 out on the Lanai; it is only on sea days. There was a big variety of items I liked the sliders. We would fix a plate and go inside to the ocean plaza area and eat (that is where they have trivia)

    dot

starboard side between mid ship and aft

  13. There is a pasta place on the Dream Deck 11 aft (over the Buffet) The menu is very much like the one you show on the Sunshine. When we were aboard it was only open for lunch. We always go on the first day because most people don't discover it till a few days of sailing So it is not crowded the first day

    dot

Thank you sooo much for including info on the Italian place for lunch!! I want to try it. How was the meat sauce? Was that piece of bread their garlic bread? I will be leaving Sat to head to NO to get on Sunshine on Sunday, I really appreciate you doing this review
