So I called RC to ask which excursions were on sale and they couldn't even tell me. The guy was basically like well you will know if it was on sale if its not the same price tomorrow. How helpful.....
-
Just got a RC email with the following:
Buy 1 get 1 50% off Deluxe Bev. Package
Up to 25% off select shore excursions
20% Off at Chop Grille
Bundle & Save over 30%
Buy 1 Get 1 50% Ultimate Dining Package
40% off Refreshment Package
Up to 50% off Voom Internet Packages for Multiple Devices
Any of these a good deal? Didn't check the prices previously. Cruse isn't till next December.
-
Careful with the refreshment package. At least 4 times at different bars the folks didn't ring up the drink correctly and I had to go to Guest Services to get the charges removed.
-
Recently off the Oasis, and when going back on the ship in San Juan it required a photo ID along with your sale and sign card which made for huge lines. Haiti and St. Thomas did not require any form of ID.

Gosh, folks complain when you start a new thread regarding something already posted. And people complain when you add to their thread to avoid creating another post about the same trip. Its like a no win situation.....
-
You could of posted this as a new thread rather than mine.

I could have, but why start a new thread for a review of the same cruise.

So I was also on this Cruise in room 12618. This was my first time on a large ship. Normally I'm on the smaller Carnival Ship. Generally I enjoyed it but I do have a bunch of complaints. (It may sound line I'm whining but just trying to let folks know).
1. The wait times for the elevators were very bad and almost all times, the worst being after the muster drill. It took me almost 30 minutes to get back to my room. Normally it would take almost 5 minutes for an elevator to arrive that could accommodate my whole family (6 of us)
2. My next issue was the lines at the WindJammer Marketplace. Once again they were very long and it was almost impossible to find a table to seat 6 of of us there. The lines at each station were very long too.
3. Now let me talk about the refreshment package situation. I had to go complain to Guest services at least 3 times (waiting in 15-20 minute lines) because the Bar folks didn't realize how to ring up non-alcoholic drinks correctly and I kept getting charged for them.
4. Having to book shows in advanced. Now we did this because a friend told us too, but I hated this. On a Cruise I don't want to have a schedule, I'm on vacation. I want to go to a show after I see the daily schedule and see if anything else is interesting. When I need to book a show 5 months in advance that is annoying.
5. My Time Dining. So Every Carnival boat I've ever been on we've done My Time Dining and always gotten a seat relatively quickly. On the Oasis we'd probably wait a good 30+ minutes before being seated for Anytime dining.
6. Shore Excursions (Clamshell Lounger for 2 - Haiti). So I don't know if its the whole beach or just the area in front of the Clamshell loungers but it was full of huge very sharp rocks and corral, a lot that are partially buried by sand. My back was all cut up after going in the water by my lounger and I didn't even want my daughter playing in the water as it would have been dangerous for her.
7. Chop Steakhouse - Didn't find the food all that good compared to the main dining room.
Anyways I did enjoy the cruise and obviously did have some complaints. Would they deter me from going on another larger RC ship? Probably not, but its good information to pass along.

Going on the Oasis of the Sea next week, first time taking our daughter who is 3. She is not 100% toilet trained, but does wear pull-ups. I show a Just for Babies-Tots on RC is that something she can go to? How does that work?

I was on Carnival 2 years ago during Chanukah and every night they we did a lighting. They had an electric menorah and they even gave us wine and latkes. It was run by the assistant cruise director. My only beef with it was 3 of the nights they forgot to put it in the daily newsletter. But it was still nice of them to do.
-
Thanks for the info. Yes both rooms are currently side by side, so I'm assuming we'd have the same attendant and muster station etc.

Going on a cruise in Dec. on the Oasis of the Sea. We have 2 rooms. My wife and I in 1 and my Sister and daughter in the other. My daughter is only 3 so we'd actually like her to stay in our room but obviously for cost wise it was cheaper to book 2 rooms then a room of 3 and a room for 1. Are these rooms large enough to sleep 3? I called RC and asked for a cot but they said they didn't do that. It looks like there are a few rooms with a pull out bed on the couch but the price increase was ridiculous.
-
$55 per day on the Oasis in Dec. has been that price for at least 6 months I check all the time.
-
pretty sure when Carnival rerouted from Baltimore to Halifax instead of the Caribbean they offered compensation.
-
The hurricane changed the itinerary, not the cruiseline
The hurricane effected 1 out of the 3 locations. So it would be RC who decided not to go to at least 2 of the stops.

We are also on the December 3 Oasis Cruise. Check Royal again. It’s back to Eastern Caribbean, the original ports. Hope it stays that way.
I don't think it ever said a new literary for the Dec 3rd Cruise yet. I was going based on the Nov 5th one which is the latest they have updated.
-
What do you want?
I dunno I'd settle for an onboard credit for the difference in port fees etc. I mean they are completely changing the itinerary, people book cruises to go to specific locations.
-
Booked a cruise on the Oasis Dec 2nd to the Eastern Caribbean. (Hati, St Maarten, and San Juan) RC just updated their website and looks like they are giving updates about a month out, but the 11/5 cruise has already be adjusted to the Western Caribbean (Nassau, Cozumel, and Costa Maya).
Is RC doing anything to compensate for these changes? (I know the Eastern Caribbean is typically more expensive then Western Cruises.) And since I've been to Nassau and Cozumel multiple times that just isn't as exciting as going to a new place.
Also please don't start the you should be grateful you weren't on these island that were destroyed comments. Yes I feel bad for everyone who lived/lives on the islands that were damaged, but there isn't anything I can do about that. So I'm not trying to be selfish, I just want my vacation that was planned over a year ago to be what it was supposed to.
-
Yes, I use them all the time. They are trustworthy and have great customer service. Last year I was supposed to be picked up at the hotel with my friends to take us to the Port but my luggage had not arrived with me. I had to go back to the airport the morning we were leaving so I called them to see if I could get a ride from the airport instead of the hotel and they had no problem with that. It will also include a ride from the port to the airport on your way home if you require.
Thanks, and just so I know I'm reading it right, if you do the Fly, Snooze, Cruise package. They pick you up at the airport, take you to your hotel, then take you to the port the next day, and when you cruise is over they take you back to the airport?
-
Anyone familiar with the site goportcanveral.com? Looks like I can get a ride from the airport to the hotel, a night at the hotel,, and then a ride to the port for about $200 (for 3 people).
-
They had Kids sail free 2 weeks ago. I got an email. Was kids sail free and 50% off 2nd guest.
-
We prefer to stay in Orlando - 1000's of hotels in every price range - and then use a one-way car rental to get to PC the morning of our cruise. Post cruise, unless your flight is after about 2:00, I would use a shuttle service to get back to MCO.
If you do this, where you do drop the car off? I guess you pick it up at the airport but where are you returning it? Is it walking distance to the boat?
-
Going on RC Dec 3rd out of Orlando, but my wife, daughter and I are flying in Dec 2. Trying to figure out what would work best. Stay at a hotel near the airport and then take shuttle to the port the next morning, or get a hotel near the port. Anyone have any recommendations (and possibly hotels with free shuttle service?
Thanks

Thanks, I just thought it was odd because they list the The Refreshment package at $18 vs $26 so they are giving you the discount, but it didn't seem like they were for the Deluxe even though it said it was.
-
So I received an email saying they were having a special where you could order the Deluxe Beverage Package and Voom 1 user for $59.00 per day which they state your basically getting the internet for free. But according to a recent RC blog post in May the regular cost is $54 a day for that combo pack.
So are they really not discounting it, but trying to make it look like it was? Or did they raise the prices between May and June?

What are folks paying for a full day at Cococay Waterpark? on Black Friday in 2018 I booked a full for my wife and I are $110 ($55) each. Got a Memorial Day email today and checked it out and now the price is $51.99. Cruise is Dec 2019 on the Harmony of the Sea. I'm guessing I can call RC and get a credit and or cancel and re-book?
