Other than the rain on the way back, I loved everything about trip go Teteiroa!
-
I am ready too Gail! The wait for the last PG cruise was a little easier with all the discussion here on Cruise Critic, and I will look forward to things picking up a bit.:)

Hi Miriam and fellow 2014 Reunion cruisers! John and I are planning to join you for the 2017 Reunion cruise. Just wish it wasn't so far out!
-
Our PG cruise last year was so wonderful - due in large part to the exceptional, warm and welcoming cruise mates we had. Don't hesitate to book. We thought that it would be a "do it once" type of vacation, but because it was so extraordinary, we will be planning and looking forward to sailing again on the PG.
-
We were told also that if a crew member has a family emergency and must fly home, the crew fund can provide some emergency assistance.
-
Bora bora circumnavigation with Reef Discovery was also excellent. This was a private excursion and not through the ship.

Oh 2017 seems so Far away and I am not sure I will be able to wait that long!

Liz,
Your photos are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing them. I plan to post the whale photos and video that I somehow (luckily) got on our return from Tetiaroa. I am not much of a photographer but I was sure glad to get them. I will share a link to them too in the not too distant future.

Thank you Dontdiwundrim for taking the time to post your review. I am enjoying reading it.

The wine/spirits/cigar list is on the PG website - look for it under dining and you will kind of have to drill down to it.....saw it a week or two ago.
-
Thanks, then I might re-think doing it. Sounds so convenient.

So is the $160 for a 10-night cruise per person or per cabin?

What an enlightening installment. I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that. I see it also as an example of why a vacationer in FP would want to be extra careful (while diving, snorkeling, etc) and not take unnecessary risk, although I understand that your husband's health emergency was through no fault of his own. Thank you again for sharing all the details!

Thank you For your detailed review. I loved reading it, as we prepare for our first PG cruise along with the repeaters. My prediction is that you will have a long and beautiful life together. Most couples don't face such challenges so early on, but the way you two handled the adversity sure points to a lifetime of wedded bliss. Congratulations.

So fun - I might have to watch it a few more times. Thank you for sharing!!!!

Yes LovetoTravel, I am really enjoying your trip report. Thank you for sharing, and if am also anxiously awaiting your next installment.
We are preparing for our 1st PG cruise with the repeaters in September. About this Tahitian Flu......when I 1st started reading these boards, I was a bit concerned about this illness that I had not yet heard of....I thought perhaps the Tahitian Flu was something like Dengue Fever or one of this other dreadful tropical ailments and I planned to do some research and/or talk with my doctor. Then I finally put two and two together....LOL

Many many posts that say the SAME thing over and over and over......very tiresome.
-
We too sure hope that Michael will be able to join us for the September Repeaters Cruise. Although we have not met Michael, we were so looking forward to meeting him because of all we have heard......and it sounds like he may have had a big role in turning many guests into Paul Gauguin "repeaters"!

Ok, so I just have to ask as this kept me awake all last night after reading the posts here. We will be flying down from Oakland to LAX, arriving at 11:05 am before our 3:30 flight to Papeete. (In case that one gets canceled, the next one that leaves Oakland arrives about noon or just after.) I have never been to the international terminal, so don't have a sense about how far it is and how long it would take us to get there (several terminals away from where Southwest flights are). Your opinions are needed please! (I told my TA I would book our flights to LA, but maybe I should have let her do it!)

Wow Jetpuffed! Thanks for all this!!!! My dermatologist is my new best friend - wish I would have listened to my mother, but thought that the damage would show up maybe when I was 80 or so and it would not matter too much at that point, I thought. Well guess what, I was wrong. A lifetime in the California sun, fair skinned and a family history of skin cancer. Things started happening 5-6 years ago at around 50. And it's probably just getting started.
I really appreciate the information and hope others are paying attention!

I see that Athleta sells swim tights too.

Ducklite, I am also taking my dive skin, which if you don't dive, is a Lycra neck-to-ankle rash guard, kind of like a catsuit. I lived in the Caribbean for three years and my friends and I snorkeled all the time for hours on end in these without a worry about sunburn. They are not that expensive and I would highly recommend bringing one.
Be careful in that sun! I wish I would have been more sensible at a younger age, knowing that skin cancer runs in my family.

Cannot wait for your next installment! Thank you for sharing. I was almost having withdrawals from no new postings since 1/1!

Have you tried the roll call?

I agree with FlightMedic, Pure Snorkeling on Bira Bora by Reef Discovery is incredible if you are water people and enjoy that sort of thing. The best snorkeling ever.
