My my my I seem to have struck a nerve. I stand by my previous guess.

Sadly, Leigh has been let go by Royal for what he called "a lapse in judgement". Having cruised with Leigh 6 times my best guess is that some pinnacle humorless prat with a stick up his arse took offense and made a huge stink.

I'll be sailing on Serenade for the first time in December, a couple questions...Do they have a poker game going in the casino, and is there a cigar lounge?

To quote Worm from the movie Rounders, "Like my uncle Les used to say "When the money is gone, it's time to move on"."

Anyone here in the recent RCL Poker Tour Championship? Wondering how many players were entered into it and what the structure was leading to the grand prize.

The qualifiers have an awful blind structure. Short starting stack and short levels. You can rebuy through the first three levels, but it gets to the push and pray stage quickly. I've made it to the second round both times I've tried but haven't cashed yet. Maybe third time will be the charm in August

Next time just offer to stay on board and wash dishes. You get free cruises that way too:p

New to cruising and have a question regarding cell phones. I want to use as a camera. What settings to I turn off? Is there any other purpose for cell while on board? At port?

Set your phone in airplane mode and turn off data and roaming. Unless you have an international plan don't turn these things back on when you're in port unless you can tap into WiFi.

From what I understand Jamie is the CD right now on Indy and will be it until the end of February. He is substituting for Joff Eaton, but people are saying that Joff is still not ready to return and someone else will be taking over from Jamie.

 

I am looking forward to a new experience with yet another CD.

 

Are you cruising on Indy during February? DH and I are sailing on the Valentine's Day embarkation.

Leigh Xuereb from Explorer is coming to Indy in March. You'll like him.

Is Independence scheduled for dry dock next year? I looked at sail dates for December and nothing shows after the first week of November

Explorer of the Seas sad news is good news for Independence. You'll be getting Leigh Xuereb as cruise director after he leaves Explorer in March. Leigh is a high energy, zany Australian with a fantastic sence of humor and loves interacting with the passengers. Independence is a lucky ship, and it looks like it may become my ship of choice.

Some sad news from my cruise this past week. Erky will be leaving Royal Caribbean for good at the end of February as he persues his dream of becoming a pilot. And Leigh will be departing for the Independence in March.

Anyone know the showtimes? trying to plan out my dinner times.

I just got off yesterday. This past cruise most of the shows were 7:15 and 9:15, adult shows at 10:15. You should be good with a 5:00 dinner to make the early show or 7:00 dinner for the late shows.

I sailed on Explorer in March for my first cruise and loved it......I sadly wanted to buy one of the ship models, but forgot at the end of the cruise....Where can I find one now? Or anyone willing to part with theirs?

 

I figured It would be a great thing to collect from the various ships I will eventually go on......Greg

I did book this suite for our cruise next summer. Can't wait to be there!

Erky was married today in a lovely ceremony in Ireland, and is off on his honeymoon!

Just got off my third cruise on Explorer the other day and I have to tell you, I'm really bothered that Royal is taking her away from us. I've sent some emails to them relating this, and reminding them that Explorer has the highest repeat cruiser percentage in their entire fleet. Obviously she belongs right where she is. Please join me in deluging Royal with emails asking them to keep her here after her drydock.

We sailed explorer last December and have to say we couldn't stand Leigh and Erky.... Leigh makes us Aussies look bad!

Just got off Explorer this morning, while I was on that cruise I booked next summer's cruise on Freedom. Thanks for the input on cabins everyone, I booked owner's suite 1340.
