  1. Where does it show? I got to checkout and for a 7 day cruise, it is $990.38, which is 59.95 a day x7 days + 18% gratuities. Shouldn't it be closer to 891.34?
  2. Good morning, First sailing with Carnival, so still trying to learn the ropes. I wanted to buy the drink package. The description says that it is 10% off when buying it online, but shows 59ppd. Am I missing something? Did the price went up again? Thank you for your help,
  3. We were on the Anthem last week, and when Internet was working, we were able to use wifi calling
  4. We are boarding the Anthem today, and with the coast guard inspection, seems it will be Interesting. I am in a junior suite, and no mention of suite is anywhere on my boarding document. Is priority boarding gone for junior suite? It was a perk when we book some time ago. Thank you,
  5. I was looking forward to lunch at Jamie's as we had a 10 am check in. Guess better do late breakfast....
  6. Thank you for the awnsers! I was reading about sushi pieces in the sushi rolls. Seems to be discrepancy between menu and what I have read. Some says 4 pieces per rolls, some says 8. Can one of you confirm? Thank you again! Gonna love Cruise Critic!
  7. Good afternoon. I've hear so many conflicting info that I do not know what to expect. We are going to the Anthem next month, we have the UDP and we want to do Izumi. I have read the following scenarios - Prix Fixe menu - Have $20 per person to spend - Have $35 per person to spend. Did someone that went there recently can have some feedback on what to expect? We are creating our list to book during embarkation and we want to understand so we evaluate how many times we'll do izumi. Thank you!
  8. Funny Story.. I'm on Central Time. It was midnight EST and I tried to check in and did not let me do it. I changed my computer time to EST and then it let me do it.
  9. Good morning, I found a real good deal for a flight for my cruise coming up. However, I have a transfer booked that said the flight need to leave after 4pm, and the flight is at 3h50. Anybody has experience with this? Would that 10 min be enough for them to cancel my excursion?
  10. In my first RCL cruise I had the issue drinking "tap" water. Then I started to drink bottle water and never did drink the ship water until that Viking cruise as bottle water was not readily available.
  11. +1 on this. Just came back from a Viking cruise. All the water comes from their filtration system (and I drink a lot of water). My ankles were like balloons to being painful. I swapped half to 3/4 of it to bottle water and it helped a lot.
  12. If you flight independently to anchorage the morning before the cruise, you can use Viking transfer at 49pp from anchorage airport to the ship in Seward. It's about a 2 1/2 hour bus drive. Not perfect, but it would take the guessing game out of the equation. And since the first night of the cruise is an overnight in Seward, it minimizes the risk as well.
  13. Woah. Just looked. The one for our April cruise is about $55 more than what we paid for. Thank god we booked when we did.
  14. We are sailing on the Anthem in April (not a new ship) and the prices are insane as well. The beach club is 224 per person! But with 2 ships in port, my husband insisted for us to book it. Hopefully, due to the prices, we'll end up in a private club... The over the water cabana at 3500 is just ridiculous!!!
  15. I did not realized asking this question would start such a debate! I need to stay away from any level of uncooked alcohol. Like aged balsamic vinegar level of alcohol. I usually get paranoid drunk for 5 min (enough for my husband to spot it and bring me somewhere safe), then I pass out and wake up with an major hangover the next day. This is highly unusual, my doctor can not figure out why this is happening, and his only answer is "just don't drink". It is actually a big issue for me on cruises and AI as they put booze in a lot of things and half the time, the serving crew (or even the kitchen staff, as some things like soups and desserts are made offsite) do not know. I had several evenings ruined in vacation due to that. I was just asking if it was possible as I want my husband not to be limited because of my condition. But, it is obviously not possible, so thank you to all that answered my initial question!
  16. Good afternoon all! We finally have booked our first Carnival cruise and I have a question. I have a medical condition (not diabetes) that keeps me from having any alcohol. Do you know if they allow medical exemption so only one person can buy the package?
  17. This is what I've learn from my experience 1) You do not need a note to have one passenger have the deluxe package and the other one refreshment package. You just need to call. However, the person I talked to said if I could not drink sugary drinks, I could have a note from the doctor to avoid having a package altogether. I like bottle water and my espresso's way to much so I'm good with the refreshment package. 2) I can not drink alcohol. My body just wont take it (wont get into details why). Geez, I have aged balsamic vinegar in a salad and the alcohol content of it is enough to make me paranoid drunk, pass out for the evening and wake up with a terrible hangover the next day. It is a big issue for me in Cruises and AI, especially with desserts. And yes, I have a doctor note about it. I just ask my doctor every year at my physical to renew my note. So yeah, medical reasons do exists.
  18. So If I decide to pay $500 on an existing cruise, I'll get $150 credit? Considering that I already used 4 chase offer for $160 in credit, seems credit cards definitely want to help me pay for this cruise....
  19. Hello, Title said it all. Planning our Anthem cruise. Saturday night, we are staying in an hotel mid town by NY public library. Looking at lyft cost, seems about $150! Any better options or suggestions?
  20. I wish Viking would allow to get the Silver Package for just one passenger per stateroom when a medical reason is in play. You'd think they would have a way to accept medical exemptions. I'd love to get it for my husband on the next cruise. $20 per day for an 17 day cruise sound great, $40 per person per day, not so much. I like to get the packages just because I can't help to add up cost in my head and this is for my personal sanity. But I can't justify this on a cruise where drinks are included with food.
  21. I had the refreshment packaged book for both my husband and I and called to swap. They did it in the following order 1) They cancelled his refreshment package 2) They booked us both the Deluxe package 3) They cancelled my deluxe package. So I ended up with the refreshment and him the deluxe.
  22. Sometimes, it's not about money... We booked the deluxe package for my husband and refreshment for myself (I can't take alcohol). Will my husband drink 3 alcoholic drinks per day making up the difference between refreshment and deluxe? I don't know. But, I have a tendency, even if I really don't want too, to do a tab in my head. With the packages, I don't do that, he can enjoy whatever he wants without me giving starting the count and I have piece of mind knowing that whatever he does, this is already paid for and wont go over what we budgeted. Sometimes, peace of mind has a price...
  23. I am booked on that cruise as well. It does not appear to have its own roll call because it is the first leg of the World Cruise. And that roll call is going way to fast to keep track. And I understand. If I could do a world cruise, I'd be super excited and involved as well. I am really curious to see how the dynamic on the cruise will be. For us, that 18 days is the longest cruise we ever did, with work and all.
  24. Yeah. Both pm. I honestly don't know about the pier. Sailing viking ocean and I can't find the info.
