  1. But in the main saver fare passengers will only know the cabin number and location when P&O allocate them a short time before the cruise. Unless they picked a specific grade and find their allocated cabin is in a higher level.
  2. @Interestedcruisefan did you raise any of your concerns with the restaurant senior staff? I commented about some hot breakfast dishes being cold, and not being able to find berry fruits or prunes and figs as topping for my wifes porridge on the, How are we doing so far form, which we received on day 3. A few days later the restaurant manager sought me out at breakfast, amazing what the medallion can do, thanked me for my comments and promised improvements which we did notice, as well as sending half a dozen chocolate covered strawberries to our cabin.
  3. TBH the breakfast buffet was not as good as P&O, as far as the hot options, although the omelette station and the eggs Benedict station were quite good, and don't seem to exist on P&O. The so called english bacon was quite fatty, and the american bacon was not really crispy, the fried eggs were mainly done easy over, as the yanks call them, but I did find the occasional sunny side up one with a soft yoke. However the array of fruits, muesli and cereal offering was far more extensive, and the pastries looked delicious, but I managed to avoid temptation. We only had light snacks for lunch, soup and a roll or maybe a stir fry veggie dish, so did not try the meats. We did have afternoon tea in the buffet once, as I posted earlier, and with real clotted cream, freshly baked warm scones and som excellent desserts, which we thought far surpassed the afternoon tea choice on P&O. I guess you just struck unlucky with a poor head chef. PS the pool deck Pizzas from Slice were to die for, probably the best pizzas we have ever tasted, whether at sea or on land. We enjoyed these quite a times for lunch.
  4. But that can only be done by booking a select fare, and many people prefer to book a saver fare which does not give the option of choosing a cabin location, other than a specific grade, which is likely to have cabins in many different li locations.
  5. But very windy on sea days, that is if the wind allows you to open the balcony doors.
  6. My cruise on Iona was in March this year, so maybe its now resolved?
  7. You're right the P&O price will generally be lower than Princess, but the standard of service and food that we received on Sky Princess was also far superior to what P&O have been offering lately.
  8. Do they still do canned stabilised milk, maybe use some of that to replace part of the standard milk?
  9. I have to confess that I never observed that, but I would have thought it should be a relatively simple fault to remedy.
  10. It's easy to apply for a postal vote, and you dont need to remember your identity card.
  11. I believe only the wake view aft cabins, which also provide regular sooty spots.
  12. Swimmers splashing water over the edge should not really be a problem, the giant splash scoop tray should collect any of this water. I watched the infinity pool on both rough and smooth sea days and there was far more water going over the edge from the rolling motion of the ship, but even so I never saw any water splash over this scoop, so I am baffled as to why this problem is still occurring.
  13. You can check if the matches are on by looking up Sport24 cruise ship schedule on the internet. I would be amazed if they are not on, they will show them in one of the bars or lounges, but they are also available on your room TV, and Arvia has big TVs.
  14. I am sure it will be, our recent Princess cruise should have returned to Ocean terminal but was changed mid cruise to Mayflower, and P4C were there waiting for us.
  15. It should be covered by the house insurance, if it has have accidental damage cover.
  16. That assumes that P&O read cruising social media sites, I know that the Royal Caribbean group do, and Princess also encourage CC meet and mingle get togethers, but I have never noticed any P&O interest.
  17. I did book our MDR evening dining well in advance but the latest time I could book a sharing table was 18:40, and I booked all our meals in the same MDR and all at 18:40. However our MDR host quickly recognised us (maybe because of my wifes wheelchair )and without arranging it, we were able to arrive at any time within an hour of that, and still receive prompt service. Interestingly we again found most couples were pushed towards tables for two, which I think Princess are finding enables them to seat more passengers. The 2 tops seemed to be turned round 3 and sometimes 4 times, where some sharing tables were only used once, presumably as passengers enjoyed the congeniality, and stayed well beyond the recomended 2 hour dinin time.
  18. I remember their being a tightening of the take on board liquor allowance a few years ago. I think it lasted a couple of years before petering out as staff members found it just as difficult to police, as they do the sunlounger booking.
  19. I suspect quiteca few oily dollar Bill's will have found their way into some influential PL officials pockets.
  20. I would have preferred Arsenal to have won the league, at least Arteta has built his team with judicious spending, whereas Peps team has been gold plated with oil revenues.
  21. If you book via a TA then the form is definitely not completed as part of the booking process, because that is done by the TA, whereas the form has to be completed by the passenger.
  22. Thank you @Megabear2, although I think it is an odd place to show that information.
  23. I think the Cunard personaliser is possibly more akin to Princess which also calls it a cruise personaliser. Does anyone else know how to find out if you have been allocated an evac chair on a P&O booking.
  24. @Selbourne, can you detail your procedure for the above, I cannot see the your calendar option when I log onto my account. Maybe it's because I am using my smart phone, and not a tablet or lap top.
  25. A further possibly final comment on food quality comparison. We had afternoon tea in the buffet the other day, and as well as warm freshly baked scones, they had genuine clotted cream as well as jam, and we also had a couple of the sandwiches, and desserts which were delicious. The P&O chefs should take lessons from Princess in how to make edible pastry. We watched the wait staff in the buffet today and were impressed with how efficient they all were, ensuring tables were cleared quickly, and the tea, coffee and juice service is also very efficient, and the orange juice is stronger and sweeter than the watery stuff provided on P&O. You will have gathered from my posts that I am far more impressed with Princess service and food quality standards than with P&O, but rather than bore everyone with a final update, I will be happy to answer any specific points you might have.
