  1. Hello!  Frequent spring break cruisers that are mixing it up this year and not doing a cruise.  Therefore, looking for a short summer cruise to ease our cruising hearts!  Two ships fit our dates/budget: Conquest and Sensation.  Pretty comparable in price/ports (Key West and Cozumel)/etc.  Looking for opinions on either or both.

Background of who will be cruising...myself, DH, and 2 teen girls, 13 and 16.  We all have cruised many times, usually 7 days on ships ranging in size from Valor/Magic/Vista.  I know this would "feel" different, but also for a shorter cruise, looking just to kick back and relax after school lets out.

    Any suggestions?

I get it if you want to say sharing alcoholic drinks on cheers is bad. But who cares if a parent uses their cheers to get their kid a milkshake or a soda. Come on people, no one is perfect. Relax, have fun.

    Yes, this.

Plus every time I've had Cheers, when I have ordered a frozen drink for myself and a virgin one for my daughter (fully intending to pay), they have never charged me.  Maybe I'm just lucky?

Looking at a 10:45 departure morning flight from FLL in September.  We are platinum, but will not be able to do self debarkation.  Has anyone had any experience with early flights from there?  Thanks

We did self debarkation arriving in POM and departing from FLL at 11:00 and made it in plenty of time.  We did have FTTF, though, so we were one of the first off the ship...  If you can't self disembark, that may cut it close...

Omg loooove carnivals reply to them.  🎤 drop. I wish other companies would stand up like that.  They are trying to bully carnival and it appears carnival is having none of it

Right?  WHY would they expect their expenses to be reimbursed??  LOL

  5. We will be in St. Thomas on 3/27.  We are in port from 11:00 - 7:00.  We currently have booked the Snuba trip at Coral World, through Carnival, for 12:30.  It is listed as 3.5 hours.  Will we still have time to do the air tram after the snuba excursion?  One daughter wants to Snuba, one has her heart set on the tram/photos/shopping.  I feel like we should have enough time if the 3.5 hours includes travel time?  Thoughts?

  6. I've seen this discussed before, but couldn't find the answer when I searched and Carnival's FAQ section isn't working on my computer right now!

I want to book 2 cabins in the Havana area on the Vista.  The only cabins that are near each other are not next door, but 1 door away.  What is the rule for minors?  Will that work?  (The kids in question will be 16 and 13 at the time of the cruise, if that matters?)

Thanks for any input or if you can post the info from Carnival!

A 2020 cruise?  I would call and find out why it has disappeared.  That sailing could now be a charter, and no longer available to you.  It’s been YEARS, but we have had that happen to us.  Unfortunately, we only had a few months notice, so we wound up booking a land vacation to Cancun, and skipped the cruise.

Yikes!  That would be scary!  I can't imagine they'd let the Horizon book as a charter during Spring Break week, but thanks for the heads up.  Long way off, so I'll give it a few days and see if it pops back up.  It does show up on other travel sites...

More than likely, it IS sold out especially since it"s an 8 day. What are the ports of call? If there are some that aren't regularly visited, that would be another reason for it to sell out.

Grand Turk, La Romana, Curacao, and Aruba...  Hmmmm.  I just thought it weird not to show up at all!  Can't wait!

  9. Hello!

I have 2 interior Havana cabins booked on an 8 day cruise on the Horizon, leaving March 21, 2020.  This morning I wanted to do a mock booking to see what cabins are left, to investigate the possibility of changing one cabin to a balcony (getting claustrophobic feelings...lol!).  However, when I try to look, this cruise doesn't even show up as an option.  Glitch, maybe?  Can't be sold out yet...right?  Just curious if this has happened to anyone?

Cabs are waiting , Uber was there 5 minutes after I put in request. Did Self -debarkation from the Bliss 1-12-19  and we were at FLL about 8:45.

Thank you!  That gives me hope!  🙂

With FTTF and self disembark you will get a letter in your cabin telling you where to meet to be lead off the ship before the rest of the passengers who "line up" can get off! IF you don't get the letter go to Guest Services and ask about it the night before debarkation.

You will be off after Plat and Diamonds are off and before everyone else!

With that said, it is still a rush to get to  FLL airport and through security for your flight.

    Good luck!!

Thanks!  Good to know about the letter.  Like I said, never needed it before.  Fingers crossed it goes according to plan!  🙂

  12. We are on a cruise arriving in Miami at 8:00 on Sunday, 3/24.  We have a flight out of FLL at 11:00.  I know this is close, we do have a backup plan and funds if needed.  That being said, I really want to make this flight!!!  Can anyone give any advice?  I assume self disembark is a must?  We have never done that before, usually having a much bigger time cushion.  What time would you plan to head down if you wanted to be off the ship quickly?  We do have FTTF.  It says you can choose early or late debarkation, but what does that mean?  Thinking we will just grab an UberXL...  Any other tips or thoughts?  And positive vibes or prayers accepted too!  😁

  13. We are on a cruise leaving Miami on 3/24. Flights have been crazy expensive, but I somehow found a direct flight to Fort Myers Beach that gets in early in the morning on the 23rd.  After seeing it was a 2 hour drive, we switched our flights!  (Our old flight got into FLL at midnight on 3/24!).  We plan to rent a car at RSW, then drive to Miami.  Two questions:

    1.  Better to take I-75 or the scenic route?

    2.  Best place to drop off the rental?  We could either do downtown Miami or MIA.  Price is roughly the same.  We are staying at the Atton Brickell, if it makes a difference.  We don't want to deal with parking, so thought is my husband will drop off kids, luggage and me at hotel, then he will return rental and Uber back to us.  Easiest drop off location/Uber pick up spot?

    Thanks!
