  1. Kindness people--the OP has enough trouble as it is--let's apply a little gentleness to our replies please. It should be no concern of yours that in a stressful situation the OP didn't word things as you would like.

In spike of the willingness of people to attack, one should stop and realize that what you give is what you will ultimately get. I for one would want understanding at a moment of worry and stress as the OP is living thru

  2. Booked Adventure of the Seas over a year ago, got a great deal for a JS and now trying to lock in air fare. Flying out of STL to SJU airport and R/t is almost $1600 for DW and me and has been at that rate for 3 months now. I normally fly Southwest but they, Delta and American/United are all priced that high. Last time we flew this route a little over a year ago, it was less than $800 R/t for both of us. UGH!!! Just venting.

Just checked a common travel booking site (ends in ..ocity) and St Louis to San Juan is 430 pp RT eave on March 4 and return on the 12th

  3. Bonnie:

If you fill out a "special needs Medical form" you will receive both the extension cord to plug into (and my cabin attendants always tape it down so no night tripping) and the distilled water your CPAP needs. I also carry a portable CPAP purifier that cleans the entire apparatus and runs on batteries (really convenient and does a great job of purifying the system)-- since I don't believe I am allowed to mention the device name--if you are interested email me at wmcmanes@att.net and I will tell name and website for same.

  4. I am a transplant recipient and always buy insurance because you never know when my system will go off kilter. The look back and timing issues are critical as even a transplant is not considered pre existing (from an insurability perspective-- it surely is a pre existing condition in fact) if you are stable (no change in meds and/or health status ) in the look back period (3 months?)

I also favor travelguard but just because they have competitive rates on all types (including cancel for any reason) of travel Ins

  5. :)Interesting thing is that it is "....geared to tech savvy customers" and I wonder how RCL will employ its significant IT Capability to actually make this work?

Perhaps the first thing you may want to consider is to get your Web Apps to actually A. Work and B. Be useful-- in order to allow those very same 'Tech Savvy' people the ability to actually book something on Royal.

Anyway, I am pulling for ya Royal as I am hoping this massive expenditure may ultimately lead to an actual functioning website!!!

  6. as a criminal, i really wish 2catsinflorida would not have made such a post, and ruined everything for me and those like me.

I happen to go on cruises with the specific goal of being seated with really wealthy people in the mdr of a cruise ship just hoping they will announce they won't be at dinner the following night. When i hear this, it creates my opening to do things. Bad things. Things that i can't explain here, but if you google "bad things criminals on cruises do when they hear people will be dining elsewhere the following night" you will figure it out for yourselves.

    like!

  7. Rather than my giving you the answer, think it through yourself. Then Google "cruise ship crimes cover ups".

I emphasize that we feel safe on RCI, but still take sensible precautions.

Just read "Dangers on cruise ships: Abductions and Trafficking" and "7 Reasons To Never Ever Vacation on a Cruise ship" Sensational journalism in the best case, Yellow Journalism in the worst-- Is 2Cats a cruise focussed Journalist perhaps or just profoundly affected by obscure crime lit?

  8. Knowing Royal's IT prowess(), the thought of installing Royal software on any of my devices sends chills up and down my spine.

Echo'ing Bob--anyone who willingly installs an app on their phone or computer from a notoriously bad development shop that NEVER TESTS THEIR DEVELOPED APPS/PRODUCT BEFORE RELEASE--gets what they deserve

  9. Good advice........ I wouldn't even know the story if I hadn't spotted the edited version provided by someone else a couple posts later. No way I'd try to read that mess.

Always good for a laugh. Someone posts an horrific story that is actually very relevant to CC and half the replies are Punctuation and layout critiques.

It is as if the story was not nearly as relevant as the telling to many herein. I guess there must be a lot of English teachers (active, retired and wannabe) on CC, n'est-ce pas?

  10. Put the following on your voice mail (in your best baseball announcers voice)

"Bottom of the ninth 2 on 2 out and we are down by 1. Here comes <your name> to the plate--and the pitch.... LOOONNNGGG fly ball deep left field--IT's Going, GOing ITS GONE" and so is <your name> --please leave me your name number and a brief message and I will get back to you as soon as I can.... Beep"

    does zat help?

  11. You may also find a similar set of ports on Celebrity (the Infinity) also Southern route--also out of San Juan-- a little different experience from the AOS but same Parent company that owns both lines.

We liked the Infinity--thought the food was great and service very good but we did miss the things to do on Royal so we would not hesitate to book the Adventure as the Southern ports are definitely our favorites. Our next cruise is a 10 day southern on the Serenade which we are told mimics somewhat the design of the Infinity-- we really enjoyed the glass everywhere with views of the water from anywhere on the ship feeling the Infinity projected .

Good luck and hope you enjoy-- the great thing about the ports are they are all different and you have a bunch of them on the Southern route--so unlike a hotel, you are experiencing different people/cultures/food/environs at evry new stop.
