  1. I'd like to book Specialty Dining on my upcoming Silhouette cruise.  The times that the website are offering me are too late.  We live in the EST zone, and the only options being offered are 9:30 for most nights.  If I book the 9:30 time slot (especially on night one, when a "first night" discount is being offered)--can I change the time to something earlier, once we are onboard?  Thanks, as always, to everyone that offers advice!  First time on Celebrity, but long time Royal Cruisers.  It's been fun to learn all about this new Line, and we are very excited to experience "X"!

  2. In looking at Elite Benefits, it looks like Persian Garden access is offered as a perk, for one port day.  I’ll be sailing soon on Silhouette.  Can anyone tell me how to take advantage of this benefit?  Will I be required to make a reservation once on board?  Are there a limited amount of “day” passes available?  Is Persian Garden just a “upgraded” section of the spa…and, there are other areas of the spa that all passengers would be able to enjoy at anytime?  Or, is the entire spa section (with exception of gym) pay extra only?  (We were recently on RC Serenade; we could use same-sex steam room, sauna, shower (all part of locker rooms), and a quiet area as we wanted.  Upcharge area was available—with tiled loungers, co-Ed steam, rain shower, etc).  Any insight is appreciated.

  3. I've booked a room right behind the forward hump on Silhouette.  Can anyone offer any insight?  I'm guessing I won't be able to see forward very well--but will the angled balcony coming off of the hump have a view right onto my balcony?  I'm concerned that my balcony (9198) won't have the privacy of a typical balcony.

  4. I booked my upcoming cruise on the Silhouette the same day that Final Payment was due.  The options for Specialty Dining are very limited—9:00 or 9:30 reservations.  I am interested in the Lawn Club for lunch—will I be able to arrange a reservation once I’m onboard?  Was it possible to book lunch prior to boarding, and I’m just too late to do so?  It really looks like a fun and unique venue!

More likely that Royals benefits will be cut back. Something is happening there with the Diamond lounges being renamed Crown lounges. They are laying the groundwork for changes.

There was a cruise not too long ago where Royal had a high number of Pinnacles, Diamond Plus, and Diamond on board.  I can’t recall the ship, but, for that particular cruise—the “Crown Lounge” was available for Diamond Plus and Pinnacle for a set time in the evening, with hors d’ouvres.  (Diamond were still welcome at all other times).  Hence, the name change—can’t easily deny access to the “Diamond Lounge” for “Diamonds”.

I have had more success emailing in the shareholder OBC request.  The last time I did it almost a year ago, it surprisingly was taken care of 3 hours later (I am not expecting that to be the norm).  You will see the OBC added to your sailing on the Cruise Planner web page.

The email address was shareholderbenefit@rccl.com.  I provided my name, booking number, and an attachment of a recent statement showing stock ownership including shares.

I emailed this address, and they responded asking for the (same) info that I had submitted via the electronic form.  The OBC was posted to my account a short time later (within a few hours).  I can see the credit on my Cruise Planner.  Thanks to everyone for their help!

  7. I am wondering if Celebrity offers tables for two, in the main dining room for dinner?  Is there someone that I can email ahead of time to request this, if it is even possible?  Would trying to switch to Anytime Dining be a better option to get a table for two?  (There's currently a waitlist).  Any insight is appreciated.

I believe all credit card points converted to OBC are refundable. If you do this on line, you also have to call Celebrity to get the points properly applied. Some how, they can "see" the credit, but they have to do something on their end to make it work.

Would I just call the main number that is listed on the Celebrity website to do that?  Should I redeem the points through Bank of America site, first; and then call Celebrity to follow-up?

  9. Last week I filled out the online form for the Shareholders Credit, for an upcoming cruise on Celebrity.  I haven't heard back anything yet.  I don't recall how long it took last time to receive a credit when I used it for Royal Caribbean--I thought it went through fairly quickly?  Can anyone tell me if I will be able to see when the credit is on my account?  I'd like to be able to use it prior to sailing, if that's possible.  I am wondering if I should follow up by just re-submitting it via fax?

  10. Has anyone used their credit card points from Bank of America recently, on Celebrity?  I am specifically trying to find out if the OBC is a Refundable OBC?  Back in January, I was able to cash out unused credit on Royal.  Trying to find out if that's an option for my November 2023 cruise on Celebrity.

We had late dining, so the elite cocktail hour worked for us.  We had wine, beer, gin and tonic, and other included drinks - usually one or two alcoholic beverages each for my husband and I.  We also made sure to get cans of soda and water (unopened) to take back to our cabin. We did not have the drink package.

Is it possible to get unopened cans of beer to take back to the cabin?

  12. Just got off of Rhapsody last weekend.  The solarium hot tub we used all week was scaldingly hot.  Didn’t get in any of the others, so I can’t comment on them.  The solarium tubs did not have bubble jets that functioned.  An employee said that they had been disabled because there were rooms located below them, and people were complaining about the noise.

It's nothing to do with Influenza and would make do difference if had a Flu shot or not.  GOOGLE: "Norovirus"  Common this time of year, doesn't matter it at home in school, at work or on a Cruise. "Norovirus results in about 685 million cases of disease worldwide each year"

I guess I didn’t make my point clear.  I just wanted to point out that being in closed quarters with a bunch of people is always going to be a risk.  Some people are just plain nasty.  Some people don’t think anything of spreading their germs...whether it’s noro, flu, or a common cold.

  14. I’m freaking out, a little bit, but trying to keep things in perspective. As I sit in my hotel room, a couple of hours away from Tampa, I saw an “over the top” report of the Oasis situation!  The reporter called it the “Barf Boat”!  So crass!  My Husband and I are getting ready to board the Rhapsody tomorrow.  An earlier post here says that the flu is on that ship.  I will turn Diamond after this cruise, but that diamond is very quickly loosing its sparkle!
