  1. Can it be used on existing bookings?

We had already booked for the Navigator (through a TA) before the debacle.

I spoke to RC yesterday amending something for our July cruise on Navigator, I asked them would I be able to apply the credit towards it (at the time expecting 15%) even though it was paid in full, they said as long as the credit said any sailing we would be able to apply it and would receive it back to card as cruise was already paid

  2. For Info.

    From the desk of

    Michael Bayley

President and CEO of Royal Caribbean International

    Dear Martyn Hill

Thank you for being a part of the Southampton pre-inaugural sailing on Harmony of the Seas. We hope you gained a sense for why we are excited about our newest member of the fleet with her many incredible features introduced for the first time at sea.

On a ship of such scale and complexity, we were hopeful all work would be complete in time for your cruise and recognize there were simply too many projects still being completed during the voyage. Please accept our sincere apologies.

We'd like to have the opportunity to welcome you again, and to offer you our hospitality at the highest standard. We are offering each guest who sailed with us on the May 22, 2016 Harmony of the Seas cruise a Future Cruise Certificate for 50% of the cruise fare paid for that sailing. This certificate may be used for a future cruise on any Royal Caribbean ship within the next 18 months. Within the next two weeks, Future Cruise Certificates will be e-mailed or mailed to your address on file, or travel agent if you booked through them.

We are eager to have the opportunity to welcome you back onboard in the future, when we can deliver the experience at the high standards Royal Caribbean has become known for and that we expect of ourselves.

Thank you for choosing Royal Caribbean.

    Sincerely,

    Michael Bayley

Just got the same email, which is much more than the 15% offered as we departed.

  3. I really hope this isn't true, we are boarding 2 weeks today for my 40th. I booked Jamie's as an extra birthday treat and had hidden the fact there was a cover charge from my lovely mother, I just paid it thinking she would never know the difference! No way I can pull that off now if there is per item pricing grr!

  4. If you are only visiting European ports the duty free shop onboard won't open at all on the ship, at least this was the case on our July sailing. You can buy as much as you want in the ports as long as it is for personal use

  5. Does anyone have pics of the balcony from Navigator of the Sea JS 7394? I've seen the pics of the corner balcony on deck 7, but can't find any for the middle Junior Suites. We're booked for this one in September and just curious.

Just back from 7394 on Adventure, which I think is the same, will try and upload a few picsImageUploadedByForums1406576669.357891.jpg.24e664675edd3f7a6a44be72bc33df98.jpg

  6. We were on Adventure at the start of May on the 4 day cruise, our first RC cruise. I must admit that the wj my least favourite place. the food was fine, the staff were certainly working very hard, but the whole atmosphere just felt rushed, finding a table was constantly a challenge at breakfast and lunch so I found by the time we sat down we were already stressed, it was just so busy! The staff worked hard to clear tables and bring drinks, also staff constantly working to replenish the buffet trays, the queue was a bit of a free for all but my lasting memory was being in the queue behind a gent who was standing at the "chips" section and hearing him yell at the poor guy behind the counter "frites, need more frites" no excuse me, please or thankyou, I was embarrassed to be anywhere near him, a little bit of courtesy and politeness goes a long way in my world!

  7. I'm sorry. I tried to post pics of 1690 but my files must be too large.

I am also afraid of heights. And I can honestly say that the balcony never scared me. Although sometimes walking the upper decks, if I would look down, that would get me:o

Thanks for the reassurance, was torturing myself worrying about it! Will make sure my DH walks with me on the upper decks just in case!

  8. I don't think you'll have any problem with the height, its actually better than the usual balconies on the side of the ship because the cabins below it come out in 'steps' so there is no sharp drop. Also because the balcony is so deep you can sit out there and be nowhere near the rail.

I've just looked through my pictures and don't have anything that really shows the size, sorry. If you search in Google you'll probably find some pics, I remember seeing some before we first had these cabins.

    Julie

Thanks for that made me feel a whole lot better, will have a look on google. Excited!
