  1. We are just off the Victory yesterday.  Whole milk was not available, only 2%.  I asked because I drink milk at night before bed.

Also, do not count on storing milk in the room fridge.  The one we had did not cool well enough for milk.

    You mileage may vary.

The Dr Seuss Breakfast menu is a Dr Seuss version of the Sea Day Brunch, so I doubt you’ll want to do both.  The breakfast is fun, enjoy!

Hmmmm... an opportunity to eat the best meal of the cruise twice.  I'm not seeing a downside.  😎

  3. We are also doing the Dr. Seuss breakfast on the 11/4 Victory sailing.  My research says that it is booked on board and is a $5 per person charge.  There is an 8ish and 10ish seating.  Here is our sea day plan:

    8:00 AM  Dr. Seuss Breakfast

    12:00 PM  Sea Day Brunch

    3:00 PM  Afternoon Tea

    7:00 PM  Anytime Dining

Someone will have to roll us back to the cabin.

Included tea options are Lipton (black/regular), Lipton decaf, and some type of green tea (not sure if Lipton, not a big tea drinker).  I'm fine with Lipton and didn't get any of the premium teas (I think $1.95/bag, plus gratuity? - included with Cheers).

To confirm, the "premium" tea flavors are included with Cheers?

  5. Two questions for those in the know:

    1.  Does the Hub App reservations work on The Victory?

    2.  We are signed up for YTD on our next cruise.  This is our first time.  My husband is wheelchair bound.  How will they know we need wheelchair accessible seating (there are not a lot in the crowded dining rooms).

Love these "in the know" threads.

It's located next to the Jardin Cafe on the Promenade deck between the Alchemy Bar and the Casino.  The Liberty and Victory are "sister" ships.  On the Liberty this past August, there was also another coffee bar, AFT, Starboard, inside of the Lido Restaurant, Deck 9.  Maybe they will also have this on the Victory.

Does Victory have the second coffee bar?  Where can we get "good" coffee after the main coffee bar closes at 3PM?

  7. I wanted to be clear.  This event is appropriate for anyone to attend?  My DH (of 30 years) is from a military family.  His father retired from the Army as an Sergeant Major (E9) and served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.  His mother was a war bride from Austria.  This would be meaningful from him, but when I mentioned it he seemed to feel it would not be appropriate for us to attend.

I guess that is a good point, that I didn't consider. Still, I don't fully buy it. What bartender wouldn't make you a new drink if you HATED the one you had? Who is really ordering all of these drinks they don't like? Who is really trying this many drinks they have never tried before? Heck, who is really ordering 15 drinks? These are extreme examples

I am the person that will try a lot of different kinds of drinks.  It is part of the fun of a drink package.  I have a list of different kinds of drinks I want to try.  So, I actually might hit the 15.

On my last Carnival cruise, the Atrium bartender let me do a tequila tasting.  Not a full shot, but a taste of all of the different tequilas she stocked there.  She counted it as one drink.  Also, I was tipping well.

Think about eating breakfast in the main dining room. If you talk with the Maitre D (on embarkation they are set up in a dinning room around 1 pm (ish), they can have applesauce all ready for you when you get to breakfast each morning. They might also be able to arrange it on the buffet, but you will need to ask.

Agreed.  I was super nice with compliments to the head chef in the buffet on our last Carnival cruise.  I mentioned that I love traditional Filipino Adobo. His sous chef was from The Philippines and the two of them made me a helping of Adobo for the next night on the buffet.

  10. We are on the 11/4 Victory.  We have FTTF and DH is in a wheelchair.  So, we always arrive at port opening.  It reduces our stress and we end up one of the first few folks on the the ship.  So, what time does the port actually open?

And yes, I am the OCD planner.  So, I am already scheduling port transportation.  In our 30 years, I never take chances on the transportation piece of a trip because DH's wheelchair can throw a wrench into last minute travel plans.

By the way, half the fun of a cruise is planning it.  🙂
