Thank you! We have developed good relationships with most flag carriers and other airlines and continue to expand our network to be able to offer even more choice. Most contracts are ongoing, but fare releases are very frequent.

Thank you and many congratulations on your marriage. Regent offers a very different cruise experience to Carnival and I could spend hours telling you about Regent. If you have an affinity for a more luxurious cruise experience with magnificent suite accommodations, truly gourmet dining every day and want virtually everything included – from airfare to pre-cruise hotel, all fine wines and spirits, gratuities and shore excursions – Regent is a perfect match for you. While the onboard ambiance is much different than a large mass-market ship, it is far from stuffy and I would tell you that our guests still love to and do know how to have fun. We have plenty of entertainment and nightlife for those who enjoy it, and lovely huge suites and quiet nooks and corners for those who prefer some quiet time. However, my advice would be for you to visit your Travel Agent who can work with you to find your perfect cruise line and ship. If you like the Caribbean, you’ll love the Mediterranean.

The suite mock ups were built in a design studio in south Florida, near our Miami office. It was due to this close proximity and that we had a number of agent partners and past guests nearby that we took the opportunity to bring them in to see them and critique them. Although a similar exercise will not be possible in the UK, we are eager to receive feedback from all of our guests on features and amenities they would like to see in the new ship.

There is no doubt that our guests really like our Free Luxury Hotel Programme (FLHP). The rationale behind this additional feature is to make sure our guests arrive before the ship sails. In previous years guests have missed ships due to adverse weather conditions, delayed or cancelled flights, strikes and of course the ash cloud. The other benefit is that it allows our guests to fully recover from the stress of their journey, the flight can be at a sensible hour and, after a good night’s rest, benefit from early embarkation and commence their Regent experience fully refreshed.

Our Destination Service team works diligently to find up to 350 rooms in luxury hotels in some of the most sought after cities in the world. Our team does an amazing job sourcing the best hotels they can that have good access to the embarkation port. Some ports and dates are easier than others and this year, Rome has been particularly challenging. There will be rare occasions when we must look to a different hotel, such as in this occurrence, to secure the accommodations necessary.
Interestingly in a recent survey, flying on the day of departure was declared the number one concern. Our FLHP programme is specifically designed for you to arrive the day before, to relax and prepare for a wonderful cruise and ONLY Regent is able to address this concern by offering a free overnight stay before your cruise.

If you wish to spend some time sightseeing and shopping in Rome, then it would be much better to take the hotel credit and spend a couple of days in the centre of Rome where you can be close to the sights and restaurants.

We are dedicated to providing an exceptional cruise experience for each of our guests and any feedback we receive from our guests is very important, particularly regarding where any aspect of a Regent cruise holiday fell short of their expectations.

6. Dear Al,

We have some very exciting itineraries in Europe in 2014 that offer new embarkation ports and ports of call. My personal favourites are: a fabulous new cruise from Oslo to Copenhagen with an overnight stay in Honningsvag and visits to new ports of call: Kristiansand, Murmansk, Hammerfest, Spitsbergen and Harstad. For the first time ever, you can embark a Regent cruise in Amsterdam on a 14-night voyage to Monte Carlo with an overnight stay in Bordeaux and a call into Lorient, another new port call for Regent. But my favourite by far is the 10-night Monte Carlo to Venice cruise in April visiting the Amalfi region and Albania's seaside resort, Durres.
