  1. Has anyone stayed in balcony room 9572 on Anthem? It looks on the deck plans like it is on the start of the bump out and maybe the balcony is a little bigger?? I'm happy to be closer to the elevators too but hoping its not too close that it will be noisy all night.

  2. This was the first time we did the balcony gty. Only did it because at the time we booked it was more than $300 cheaper than picking it out ourselves and still cheaper than booking an obstructed view. Decided to take the chance, not wanting obstructed if possible, and we got a balcony on deck 10 assigned in about 3 days. I was surprised that it was already assigned, i didnt expect to find out until we boarded. Only things i wasn't crazy about was it was pretty far aft and had an adjoining room. I called tonight and they let me change to another D7 room more midship so i am very happy that we booked it. I figured the $300 + we saved when booking would pay for our drinks and gratuities!! :ship::tropical-drink:

  3. Thanks for the fast replies. I'm not going to worry too much about it. I may call and see about switching rooms if possible but if not its ok.. I just am so glad i got on deck 10 and not 6. Took a chance by not picking our room ourselves and saved over $300 doing the gty and I'm very happy with what we got. I'm so excited to go and am counting down !!

  4. This will be my first time on Anthem and we did the balcony gty. Got assigned 10296 which is great since it is not obstructed view. The only thing is that it appears to be a connecting room. Has anyone stayed in these rooms and had issues with hearing people in the adjoining rooms? I dont know whether i should try and see if i can change to a different room. I'm kind of a light sleeper and just hope there's not loud partiers next door.

  5. I am getting married the day before a cruise leaving from Port Canaveral next September. I am trying to choose a beach to be married on, but never having been in the area, this is a challenge. Cocoa Beach is out because we would like more privacy and a non-touristy beach. My wedding officient sent me a list with some pictures and I am torn between Cherie Downs Beach Park in Cape Canaveral and Pelican Beach Park in Satellite Beach. I am wanting something that is very nature-ful and doesn't have a lot of buildings on the shore or anything.

Can someone help with suggestions? Thanks!

I dont know the area well either, but a friend got married there in cocoa beach in a little park..Lori Wilson park I think. It was on I Dream of Jeannie lane. Was nice..a little board walk type area with a pavilion looking out over the beach. Dont know how crowded it gets..we were there in June and it wasnt too bad.

Forever hold your memories of Carol and your travels together in your heart, and go out and make some more memories for yourself..I'm sure, in reading your many posts on here..that that is exactly what she would want you to do ! You are an inspiration..now go hug your puppies !

  7. we are thinking of cruising from this port, is it better to stay in cocoa with a car from orlando airport and will the hotel let us leave it for a week or stay in orlando and take transportion to pier, which is more cost effective, any reasobale room near pier?

We have never done this, but we are thinking of staying at the radisson with a rental car from the orlando airport. From what i have read on the boards here, i gather that it is cheaper to rent the car and return it in cocoa beach before your cruise, and take the shuttle from the car rental place (or hotel) to the pier, then take the shuttle back after the cruise and rent a car again to get back to orlando. I dont want to pay for a car rental for a week and leave it at the hotel when i am not going to be using it !

  8. That cabin 8412 has a door adjoining the suite next door doesnt it? Was there any noise coming from the other room or are the adjoining doors pretty solid. I dont like hotel rooms with the adjoining doors for this reason and was wondering about the cruise rooms. Do you have any idea what the balcony on the room to the other side of your cabins was like..it says limited ocean view for that one.Any pics? thx

  9. I agree with loving planning..i kind of drive my hubby nuts. we went to disney 2 years ago and my sister told me about the disboards and i learned somuch from them that we went from a days inn room with 3 teenage boys..yuck..to a rental house i learned about online..it was the greatest vacation ever. and i got major brownie points with all the "guys" when we got there, our own screened in pool and everything. I am so glad i found this site cause this will be my first cruise and even though i am going with my sister who has cruised before..i am learning somuch here. thanks everyone for all the tips
