  1. We also boarded in Barcelona and totally agree with the comments regarding the improvement since the World Cruise last year on the Sojourn. I am including a link to my blog, which is primarily a way for me to organize the photos I am taking on the cruise. I very seldom include photos of passengers, crew members, etc, and this is not intended to be a critique of the cruise or Seabourn. We are doing the full 116 day cruise. http://www.cliffphotos.com/SeabournSojournNovember2014.html

  2. Thanks for that Mariners, I've just read it through. Good to see Mr L was on top form bemoaning the block party. On Sojourn they had to pry him off the Christmas Carol conga line with a double Louis XIII. I counted him past our cabin 4 possibly 5 times :)

You talked about not being able to hold the deck party on deck one evening, was that weather or security related ?

I think we're probably going to book on to the cruise. I'm on the south coast for a couple of days as we have our charter boat out of the water for annual maintenance but once back we will set about finalising things.

Having done the Panama canal on Sojourn there does seems a symmetry to doing the Suez canal.

Christmas looks like a hop over to New York using air miles then onward to Mexico or the Caribbean. Looking around at some all inclusive resorts. Having said that I talked through a driving tour around Cape Town with one of my chaps at work who has extensive knowledge of the area......

    Henry :)

We thought Suez would be boring compared to Panama - were really wrong!

  3. Good news, Dan. Would you ask him how Miss A is after her mini-stroke?

    Winnie

Really a non-event. We see her a couple of times a day at the Seabourn Square and in the hallway. As usual at dinner each evening in Restaurant with staff.

  4. In SmugMug its -

    1. Log in

    2. Select a Gallery

    3. Gallery Settings > Appearance > Show Camera Info > On

I haven't found a quicker global way to activate it - but when its enabled you should see a little information i in a black circle and when clicked should show something similar to this (I had the GPS plugged into the camera to that data is part of the exif info - hence the map)

Thanks - I turned it on for a couple of galleries, but I think because I process them in Photoshop the data must be lost. I suppose it would come up on the RAW files as shot if I loaded those to Smugmug. Here is a Gallery with it turned on and there is no info other than image size that I loaded which I keep at about 1MB.

  5. It's nice that you're supporting Baldy et al and using SmugMug (also great that you along with a few others actually post some of your shots from your cruise!). I'm curious as to why you're hiding the EXIF info? Looking at pictures from your cruise it appears they've been massively cropped or shot at high ISO but without the EXIF Im at a loss as to which.

I have no idea how to turn it on. Would appreciate any advice. All photos have been processed in Photoshop. Cameras I am using on this trip are Nikon D7000, D600 and AW100; Sony NEX7, Canon S100, and Galaxy S3 smartphone. Camera of choice on this trip has been NEX7. About 25% are HDR and quite a few panoramas using as many as 13 individual exposures.

  6. We have been on the WC since LA and are having a ball! Except for some bad weather which is not Sojourn's fault, we feel the food, most or the entertainment and service is wonderful How LUCKY we are to be able to travel to interesting places and to enjoy this wonderful experience!!!!

    Ditto!!!

  7. Thanks, Wripro. Last night Heather Clancy gave a very well-received show. Lots of talent there. Today we are in Burnie, Tasmania. Locals are incredibly charming and welcoming. Maybe we are the first cruise ship they have seen in a long time? Cute town, but not much here other than a little museum and a paper mill. Passengers are scratching their heads as to why Seabourn chose this port.

We took one of the trips called Devils and Roos which gave us a chance to see the countryside and learn some history. Unfortunately we were not aware that there is currently an exhibit of Da Vinci Machines in Burnie until our guide mentioned it. I wonder if anyone did manage see it: http://www.burniearts.net/Whats-On/Exhibitions/Da-Vinci-Machines-Exhibition
