Can anyone give me a comparison of these two snorkel excursions for Carnival? My wife and I like to snorkel, but on some excursions, they seem to cut them short because of "novice" snorkelers. Also, is the coral better on one of the excursions?

My wife and I are visiting ST in December via cruise ship. Normally I would take an excursion from the cruise line. However, none of them appeal to me. Doing some research for snorkel sites in ST, I saw that Secret Harbour seemed like one of the best since it was linked to the wildlife preserve.

My question is do I need to go through one of the ST guide companies or can I take a cab to SH and snorkel on my own? If so, what is an approx cost for the cab ride (roundtrip).
