  1. Thank you Happy!! This is what I was looking for. I am beginning to rethink my choice of cruise lines. I was asking a real question since I have never been on this line before and you were the only one who was actually helpful and nice.

I realize that I have never been on the NCL boards before, but my family was truly wanting to try something different. How can we come here to ask questions if everyone starts jumping down our throats about what we ask. I am sorry some of you didn't think that my question was as important as others, or that it did not go into enough detail. Instead of being snarky, someone could have just asked me to give more details. :/

You actually called who knows who out for not answering...

As someone pointed out there are tons of locations online with room sizes and layout per ship

You may get friendlier responses if you're less demanding..

  2. No, actually they are not. I contacted corporate with the suggestion that they glass in the casino on Getaway to alleviate the smoke wafting all over 678 and was told, basically and nicely, "no"....

They have no intention of changing anything as long as cabins are being booked.

Time will tell. Royal andX have had GREAT response both customer satisfaction and revenue wise with their policy changes. The entire industry is watching. Even European lines are moving towards a Royal-esque policy

    We'll see...

  3. That's a LOT of OBC when you said yourself that you knew that after final payment date, it is what it is.

Secondly, you said you see a pattern, yet you booked earlier anyways. Sounds like you want the prime choice in staterooms AND the last minute price.

At least NCL tells you the rules upfront. I bet that when you booked you didn't tell them you were going to complain when the prices go down after booking.

This "anger" is becoming all too common. I think NCL and all the other lines should take away the original stateroom and give you something from what's left in order to get a $$ accomodation of some sort

  4. Unless things have changed' date=' DCL's basic commission is 10% of the cruise fare portion of the ticket. As noted, that is NOT the amount we pay to go on a cruise; it is the ticket less taxes and government fees.

    [/quote']

Some of the fare itself is deemed "NCF - Non commissionable Fare" so % of the total fare is less, sometimes substantially less

  5. The original poster wasn't speaking derogatorily about any person or age group. OP was recounting her personal experience and how she felt about it. I'm amazed at how quickly others will attempt to "correct" someone for how they felt about a situation they were actually in! Defensive much??

There is a big difference in accidentally bumping someone, hitting them or putting your hands out (onto them) to avoid a collision and "making a path for yourself". Rudeness is rampant these days everywhere, but a cruise ship is usually a great mini-population that you will experience it in. A lot of people feel entitled to do what they want and will find a way to do it whether there is another person in the way or not.

Mistakes and accidents happen but rudeness happens too! People of every race, nationality and age group are guilty of it and the original poster is entitled to her impressions. I've experienced the same on a Royal Caribbean cruise and even more on a Disney Cruise.
