I also paid for Enclave on Discovery , always had a great experience on other ships.. Day 1 first Sea Day off I go with my book looking forward to my warm lounger and quiet .

The place was packed , 2 very upset ladies at the desk who had been waiting for a free lounger for an hour . The next day there was a sign up sheet you could book your hour in Enclave . People were staying over their time and I agree with the feeling several had not paid.

The only time I could get a lounger was in the evening , one man was watching U Tube Videos with no headphones . Guess his Internet worked better than mine !!!!

All in all a disappointment .

I will be on the Discovery this coming October.  I have been on many Princess ships but never did the Enclave.  However, I have done the thermal spa on NCL ships and it is awesome!  I never wanted to book on Princess because it seems so dark in there.  Anyway, my question is do you get the robes in the dressing room?  Also, are there only 8 thermal chairs by the therapy pool?  If so is there any other area to sit?  I really would like to use the Enclave this time but now am worried we will not be able to sit anywhere.  On NCL they had the heated loungers but also had many other areas to sit and relax.  I would bring my book in and stay for a few hours.  If there is no seating not sure if I want to book this.

    Thank you,

I have not. But I have reservations for https://www.lapalapapv.com/beach-club

They charge 500 pesos per person which you get back in a food & beverage credit.

I did look back at the beach club and saw the wording in English...it was right at the top.  So you emailed them and made a reservation?  So the $27 that you paid they give you back when you get there for food and beverage.  That would make it free and a great deal.  It looks very nice.

I don't know if the last tour I took in PV is being offered by your ship or not, but here is my very positive review.

Overall, the tour was very good, and our guides were excellent.  The price ($100 per person) was reasonable.  I noticed a few weeks later that the price had been reduced, but I was pleased with the tour at $100 pp.

Thank you for the information...much appreciated!!

I'm torn. I want to try something different this time. Usually we spend the day on the Malecon and have lots of fun. But I'm looking for something different this time.

    Option 1:

The reviews are mixed and none actually cover the hot springs. We'd want lunch and time to enjoy the pool and hot springs. Would consider a way to get to this place with out the shopping and other stops.

    Option #2:

    Which one would you pick?

Have you gone on your cruise?  If so which tour did you end up taking?

Hi! I have not. I wont book that port until they lift it. My friend went with HAL recently and they did not ask for proof. Her family was fine despite not being vaxxed. Ive read on forums that Carnival does check. So it seems like it depends on who you get. It is an actual Grand Turk government rule though. Not cruise line. Happy cruising!!

I wish I had known.  But I read on other forums that people are getting off who are not vaccinated.  Sure is silly as they let a person who was vaccinated in 2020, and never had another shot or booster, on Grand Turk but they won't let a non vaxxed person on. Had I known this I would not have booked it.  But I will just stay on the ship since I have been there before.  My husband and I can enjoy a massage, the pool and lunch without a ton of people. Thanks for your reply.  Have a wonderful day!

When we were there in January, the information was part of the data on our Carnival S&S card, from the health information filled out.  We are vaccinated and boosted, but I understand if that information is NOT on your ship id, the ship won't let you off.

If your tour is book via private vendor contact them.  If a ship excursion, go to guest services once on board and double check. You should be able to cancel if they say you can't get off.

I contacted viator last night and was told by their agent that we did not need a vaccination.  Then I told them what it says online under Grand Turk and that it says you must be vaccinated.  She had me hold and then said let me look further into this and someone will contact you (today).  No one did.  I went on Princess website and plugged in my cruise and it said vaccinations are recommended but not needed.  So much confusing info so I decided to cancel the Viator tour.

That is really unfortunate. I feel it is Princess's responsibility to inform passengers of the paperwork and protocols required at port stops. You are right- they dropped the ball.

I entered my voyage on the Princess website.  It says vaccinations are highly recommended but are not required.  I also did a chat online with viator and was told no vaccine is needed.  However, the travel requirements for Turks and Caicos says you must be vaccinated.  So how do you know which is correct.  Extremely confusing from Princess.   Here is the Princess information for my cruise which stops at Grand Turk.

    Standard Protocols

This specific booking and/or voyage follows our COVID-19 Standard Protocols for vaccination and testing requirements.

    Vaccination Requirements

    • It is highly recommended that all guests be up to date on their vaccination status. Vaccinations, however, are not required.

    Testing Requirements

    • Guests are not required to take a COVID-19 test prior to embarkation.

Global COVID-19 regulations and protocols are continuously changing and we may revise or modify these requirements (effective immediately) to evolve with the latest practices at any time. Please check back regularly for any updates. These protocols only apply to the specific booking number or voyage entered.

    Hello!!

Does anyone have first hand knowledge of disembarking without the vaccine???

The actual Turks and Caicos government website says "Anyone over 18 must be fully vaccinated to visit"

Holland told me directly you do not need it "according to their records" and also a travel agent emailed

me "The vaccine requirement was dropped". So confusing. Thank you!

Have you gone on your cruise since posting?  I am wondering what happened and if you needed to be vaccinated to get off ship.   Thank you

  9. We will be in Grand Turk in a week.  I just saw that you have to be vaccinated to get off the ship.  2 people in our party are not vaccinated.  I have a tour booked and want to know how they check this information.  I do not want to have anyone stopped from getting off and then get charged for the excursion.

We have a cruise booked for the end of August with my granddaughter who cannot get vaccinated due to medical reasons. We submitted all the necessary paperwork including a letter from her doctor explaining all the reasons she should not get the vaccine for Covid. We have now been told that we will be notified in the middle of August as to whether or not we will be going on the cruise. So this is really only two weeks notice.

I was reading about that.  Wow that is not enough notice.  Seriously why would they not know sooner.  I sure hope it works out for you and your family and you all get to go.

IMO, pre-board testing will be dropped before vax mandate is dropped.

It just seems like the vaccine was given last year.  I wonder how effective it is at this point.  You don't need a booster just the vaccine.  And so many people have had it already.  I so want to cruise but am unable to get the vaccine.  Have been doing many other vacations which have been wonderful.  But would love to get back on a ship again.  Hopefully one day...

There has been a long pause for me following cruise information regarding vaccination status on RCCL cruises out of the US. I was speaking with a friend today who recently was on a RCCL cruise out of Miami and I was told that all adults had to be fully vaccinated to board the ship. I went on RCCL's website today and I see that all people 12 and over must be fully vaccinated.

When did that occur? Last I knew, RCCL conducted test cruises so there could be a percentage of non vaccinated children and adults on their ships. Guess I'm out of the loop.

I wonder if any of the cruise line will be changing their regulations on the vaccinations?

I don't know Florida law works or is applied in these situations.  It's possible it hasn't come to light until recent situations, but I would imagine if it was truly an issue there may have been SOME legal action along these lines by now.

I just sent them another email.  I showed them all my emails that I sent to their representative.  I was very clear in my email back in April 2020 saying to the casino rep that I wanted a refund for my May 2020 and wanted to cancel my January 2021 cruise unless they can provide me with a good deal.  So she did give me a great deal.  Now of course it was cancelled and in order to get that deal they want to charge me another $3000 even though the Haven Spa suite did not go up that amount from 2020 to 2021.   Just because the cruise was cancelled does not mean they should not give me the deal I had so that I would not cancel.  I will see how they respond and go from there.

Yeah, but.  The first cancellation, last April, you are thinking this is a 90 day or 120 day thing because that was the consensus at that point, let's just try it again.  Now, the second cancellation almost a year later with substantial protocol and potential itinerary changes looming  is a bit of a different animal.

Of course it was the consensus.  After our cruise was cancelled in May NCL was still booking cruises for September of 2021.  I would have rebooked for that time but had another cruise with another line for that September 2021,  That was cancelled and my money was refunded.

You agreed to accept the FCC.  At that point it's NCL's money and will forever be FCC.  It's unfortunate that it's this way in times where some people might really need the money, but NCL has stuck pretty close to existing refund policies throughout.  If they change now, imagine how many people they'd have to go back and retroactively offer an option for cash refund!

I just want my cash back.  She specifically says it will cost me $650 each.  How is that FCC?  She moved my money from one cruise to the other.  So what happens if the January 2022 cruise is a no go.  The get to hold my money from 2019 to past 2022?  Does they get to keep it forever and never offer me anything for it.  What if they want to say hey you can't even get the mini suite that they downgraded me to in 2022.  Just isn't right at all.  But if you think it is that is ok.  I just don't think this is right in any way.
