  1. Miaminice...(I am from Miami so love your name)...it was just personal taste because we don't eat duck or lamb either and I am low carb so pasta was not an option. If you look at the menus, duck and lamb were pretty much staples along with the game birds. I still think the option is great for those with more adventurous tastes. My husband would look at the menu and go "not for me". I could have gone with the salad & appetizer options but he wouldn't.

  2. Breakfast was great in Blu. Made to order omelets, everything was just the way we wanted. Hot & fresh with great service! I do a low carb diet and they made me egg white omelets with a side of hollandaise! So good and that is not a typical choice. We had a little more of a challenge finding dinner choices because I don't do poultry since chemo (it doesn't taste right any unfortunately) and the choices were squab, pheasant, quail...no way I could do that so we didn't eat a lot of dinners in there. It is an amazing perk though.

  3. This is still always the case with paying for first class...there will always be someone who feels like they were "slighted" in some way because a first class passenger was treated differently. They PAID for the extras and, so, chose to be awarded extra benefits. It is your choice to decide what it is worth to you. We have paid to "express pass" at Disney because I am seriously claustrophobic and like to bypass those dark, closed in spaces. It is important to me and so I pay extra. I have never felt guilty about getting what I paid for but I respect your right to your feelings. I would never argue with someone about space in a line or a seat in the theater etc. We are really easy going but we LOVE the extras we get for cruising in a suite.

  4. We did Celebrity and our next cruise is on Freedom BUT that doesn't mean we wouldn't cruise with Celebrity again if the price is right. We weren't overly impressed with the food but we had really wonderful service ship wide. The ships really don't have the WOW of Royal but are beautiful in a more subdued way. We would take either line according to price. We also are going to try MSC after reading some posts on these boards. Will we like it?...Can't say til we try but will let you know. We booked the new Seaside for Jan 2018.

  5. If you are willing to pay a lot of extra money to book a suite, I don't feel like it is "poor etiquette" to expect more. I think it is an intelligent assumption. Why would anyone pay all that extra for a suite if they weren't getting anything additional? If you want the perks, you gotta pay the price. You do have options and it is all up to you what is important to your vacation.

  6. We were offered "to go" cups. They said a lot of the issue is not having enough glassware in the lounge when everyone took their drinks out but they were more than happy to switch it over for us. We love the service in the concierge lounges, they work so hard to make you happy!

  7. We are diamond plus with Royal but loved our cruise on Equinox. Service was excellent, food for us was about equal with Royal. Ship was beautiful. There were actually quite a few kids onboard but I suspect on a TA there will be less. You never know until you try! We would definitely book Celebrity again if the price is right.

  8. It really depends on you. If you are looking for non stop action, and feeling like you are in a resort on land take Oasis class. It is like a floating resort. If you like feeling more connected to the ocean try Freedom. For me, there is so much to do on Oasis, that I never truly relax. I actually enjoy a little less on vacation so I can just sit and watch the ocean go by without stressing that I am missing something. ( I tend to be very AADD!) I also find the size of the cabins on Oasis VERY small and I am claustrophobic but we have done 3 sailings on that class so would do it again if price is right. I hope you enjoy your cruise enough to come back and try the other class as well

  9. We are looking at MSC Seaside for our first ever MSC cruise. We are cruising with our adult daughter and wondering if the Deluxe Yacht Club suite will be large enough for 3 adults. We usually do a GS on Royal Caribbean. Can anyone compare the size of these 2 cabins for us? I am holding the deluxe yacht club for 1/6/18. Thank you for your help.

  10. We were on Equinox the week before you for our first Celebrity cruise and loved it! Best crew ever. We did have breakfast on our balcony twice at no charge. As stated above it is only during those hours that they charge. I can agree on Oceanview Buffet though, it was less than great all week. We enjoy the Windjammer on Royal but felt the food on Equinox was just...lacking something. Still loved the cruise though and will definitely return to Celebrity. Next cruise...Freedom of the Seas for our girls 45 & 40 birthdays...we are soooo old! How did that happen?

  11. I hope you will try at least a Freedom class ship some day. The Vision really isn't a great example of what Royal has to offer today. If you are looking for WOW, go bigger. I love your comparisons though. We have never done Princess but certainly have heard nothing bad about them. Just fell in love with Royal and usually find great deals so stuck with them. Thank you so much for taking the time.

  12. We really enjoyed our time in Persian Gardens, did not use the spa services because I run a Massage Envy and no one does a massage like my therapists! So, we saved money there. I am not sure we would pick Aqua again either because we did not find a lot of value in the perks provided. Room was very small but perfectly maintained entire cruise and did enjoy the chocolate on my pillow again but not enough to pay extra.

  13. I tried to "cash out" in the casino and was told "strongly" that I would not be allowed to do that. She said she would give me chips or slot credit but once it was in the machine I would have to play all of it but could pull out any winnings. She made a point to tell me "don't think you will be able to pull cash out". I didn't, I took her word for it. We were new to Celebrity so I did not think it would be a problem because I had read and talked to so many people who have done it. It is a pretty recent change I guess.

  14. We did find the AQ1 was a pretty small cabin with limited storage. It was our first time on Celebrity so we weren't sure how to compare. I would compare it to a D1 on an Oasis class ship. We had awesome service from our attendant every day though. And, chocolate on our pillow!

  15. The servers in those lounges are so amazing. Always pleasant and smiling, some the of sweetest people onboard. As mentioned in a previous post, they do NOT receive an automatic tip with your order but serve you every night and do it with great professionalism. They remember your drink and take great care of everyone. They deserve something for all they do! I don't understand the idea that someone "owes" you their service.

  16. We loved the filet in Tuscan and the eggplant parmesan was awesome. We had trouble finding an entree we liked in Blu but we are not big on game birds or lamb. The service in all areas of the ship is spectacular and the staff in Blu is the best. The food is great just not to our taste.
