Also, there is a possibility of being booted from cabin 1688 with only 2 booked in there. I'm sure someone can confirm or deny, but being a corner aft balcony, I believe you now need 3 or 4 people in that cabin. We had 1388 in April - on the other side of the ship - it's a great room and u should book it if you can!

There is no such thing as "kids sail free." There are several threads and hundreds of posts about how RC's "sales" are nothing more than clever marketing tools. So beyond the fact that what the above posts say is spot on, when you go back and try to add the kids they will tell you you have to start over and presto, the cost for the adults will miraculously have increased by the savings on the alleged kids sailing free.
Sorry, but I disagree. It is offered at inconvenient times for those of us with kids in school, but it does make a big difference in price. We just snagged an Oasis ocean view balcony for 4 for a total of $2300. There's no way we could get that price without the KSF promo.

I think it would be viewed as somewhat rude to "eat and go". For me one of the pleasures of larger tables in the MDR is the time to chat and discuss the day with your tablemates.
If you want to eat and go, then either MyTime dining or a table for two would be better.
Unfortunately, requests for tables of 2 or 4 cannot always be honored. We prefer to sit alone, but were unable to be accommodated on our last cruise. Several times we did leave before dessert. Whether it was because we were trying to make it to a show or simply didn't want dessert. I see no reason why we should have to sit there and watch strangers eat dessert before we can leave. I see nothing wrong with politely excusing yourself early.

We had a similar experience on the Navigator when trying to get a table for 3 or even 4 in the MDR for breakfast and lunch. They always tried to seat us with others and seemed put out when we asked to be seated alone. However, the service was fine. This was the first time we had run into this issue though. I was hoping it was exclusive to Navigator. I will say, by the end of the 9 day cruise, the hostess recognized us and gave us a 4 top without a problem.

I know this has been discussed, but I can't find it...they're offering the BOGO dining package for our August 2017 sailing on Grandeur. My husband is hesitant because we want to do Chops and Giovanni's, but not Izumi. I know they make the reservations for you and you can change them once onboard, but has anyone experienced any difficulty with this? We just don't want to be stuck with a reservation at Izumi because we weren't able to change it to Chops. Thanks!

I am wondering if anyone has taken any of the bus tours that Royal offers in Bonaire? I realize I could get a better deal with an independent company, but it will only be me, my 9-year-old son, and my 5-year-old daughter, as my husband will be diving. He's already nervous enough about me and the kids alone on the island, lol, so I know he'll feel better if we're on a ship-sponsored tour. I am currently considering the one called "Bonaire Highlights Option 3 Hours," but would be interested in hearing anyone's experiences from any of the bus tours. Thanks!

Does anyone happen to know how much they charge for spin classes on the Voyager class ships?

We didn't have a problem with our internet onboard when we sailed 1/20-1/29. We had an interior promenade stateroom which may have helped though. We were able to stream videos as well as regular browsing.
Excellent - thank you. Sounds like I'll just have to find a good spot when I need to get online;)
-
Navigator has not been updated to use the faster O3b internet service, so the internet performance has probably not changed.
That's what I was afraid of. Thanks, Bob.
-
That's helpful to know. I will likely only need it for responding to emails and discussion posts, but may have to access video. Were you able to watch online videos, such as YouTube, while in the lounges?
-
I did a search, but was not successful in finding recent information regarding Internet speeds on Navigator. Threads from this past summer indicated that streaming, videos, etc., was not possible on Navigator. Is this still the case? Thanks!

Thanks! I like to have water available whenever I'm drinking so I was hoping it wouldn't be an issue. :-)

We've never had an issue getting a bottle of water with a drink while on the drink package. They also allow you 2 bottles of water per person when leaving the ship while in port.

That's cutting it pretty close. All aboard will be at least half hour before departure.

I don't think that will help, as I don't think the OP's change was due to an upgrade. I suspect it was a "fix" for a booking that they don't want to allow, but somehow got through the booking system.
OK, good. We have 4 in the cabin, so don't need to worry about that. Thanks!

I've been concerned about losing our corner aft in April. I made sure my C&A profile was checked for NO upgrades. Is that what you did as well?
-
I know this is an old thread, but I'm bumping because I have the same question. We're interested in visiting Hato caves, but don't want to take a tour. Can we go on our own? Does anyone know admission prices? How far is it from the port? Thanks!

You should be able to use Royal's Cruise Planner to cancel and rebook.
Yes, just go to Order History and you should see a Cancel button.
-
Thanks for the head's up! My cruise planner is still showing only 20% off, but the price went from $44/day to $41/day. Just saved $64 on my 9-day.

We ( myself, my husband, and my 9 and 5 year olds) sailed on Oasis at the end of August and absolutely loved it. No worries!

You could also try posting on the roll call for the sailing prior to yours. It's a long shot, though, as only a very small percentage of people on the ship will see it.

Sadly, Apple will not return the phone to its owner (this was our first port of call). Some info; you can use the "health" services app to give information about your phone to any finder (which they can see without using the four digit number). We have now fixed this on our phones; a contact number will now appear. Very sadly, we have no confidence in GS making any effort to return items to guests. Therefore, we are using all of our resources to find the owner of an iPhone.
Although that's very kind of you, the owners will more than likely contact RCCL to inquire about their lost phone. If it makes you feel any more confident, my son lost his tablet on our cruise several weeks ago. It was turned into guest services and he did get it back.

Renaissance Curacao Resort and Casino located right next to mega pier and doesn't have beach excess. They shuttle customers to the nice beach by boat. I don't think OP is looking for that.
Thanks for the info. That wasn't mentioned in any of the reviews I read. Just that it was a small man made beach.

Renaissance Curacao Resort and Casino is also a Marriott. A recent review on TripAdvisor said that they offer a day pass for $40pp and that it's a short walk from the ship.
Anybody knows why and when RC offer guarantee cabins.

It does seem random. I grabbed a guarantee rate when the KSF promo was out, but it was gone the next day.
