  1. I’ve sailed both and I would go back one the Breakaway over Epic. The waterfront, ropes course and better entertainment.
  2. We just sailed on the Epic last August. We picked it for the itinerary, not the ship. It was 9 days in Italy, Spain and France. We stopped 8 of the 9 days so we did spend a lot of time off the shop. We were 4 adults and 4 kids and we all had an amazing time. Were there issues with the ship, yes but there were lots of positives too and we didn’t let little things bother us. I belong to the camp that didn’t mind the bathroom set up. My spouse didn’t like it. The four kids shared a cabin and it worked out really well for them. There was definitely night life. We saw the dueling pianos multiple times and the Glow party was so fun. I also recall there being an ABBA deck party. The pools aren’t great. The slides are super fun. We often waited at the bar for drinks, especially on the pool deck. Until we started ordering two drinks each at a time LOL. Get the Frosé, it’s soooooooo good. The MDR food was ok and the service was just ok too. It was sometimes very slow and we were eating at 8 or 9 pm every night so maybe they were short staffed? We ate at O’Sheehans a lot and Shanghai was really good. We booked most excursions on our own. Saved ALOT of $$.
  3. So interesting! We were in the Epic last summer and we had three balcony cabins in a row and they opened them for us. Our room attendant said they usually don’t because they are not allowed but they did. And it was so convenient for the 9 days! We even put 4 chairs on one balcony and no one ever said anything to us!
  4. We've done several 4 and 5 day cruises and I always say any cruise is better than no cruise! I actually recommend it to people that have never cruised to see if they will actually enjoy it.
  5. I truly love Royal AND Norwegian. We went on the Oasis this summer and LOVED it. The ship is just beautiful and unique and Coco Cay is amazing. We’ve been on the Breakaway and Escape which are similar to Joy and really enjoyed them. I actually found the food way better on Norwegian and The Waterfront is so cool! The entertainment is better too. They also have my time dining figured out. I don’t think you can go wrong with either! If the booze package is important, I would go Norwegian. I really dislike paying an additional $1500 CAN for booze on Royal when it’s included on Norwegian! Lol
  6. Are there any bars with tvs to watch sports? Asking for my spouse :P
