À chacun son goût........we chose/loved the ships because they were still SHIPS and not floating malls.   🙂

Plus, the aficionados, comprised of a wide variety of nationalities/ethnicities, were more often than not of the same mindset were are  -  we met more people, (some of whom we remain in contact with), that we 'clicked' with than on any other line.

Perhaps a little late to the party, but we received refunds for three Pullmantur cruises on March 18/21....thanks Jean-Luc at VTG.

Undoubtedly our favorite line, (we started with them when they were CDF)......by miles!

Haven't read all the posts, but is it feasible to get from the ship in Haifa to the Haifa/Akko ferry, do some sightseeing in Akko, (Crusader Fort, et al), and back to the ship in one day?  

(Perhaps ferry one way and public transport the other?)

Sailed on the Horizon at least three times when it was CDF - for us it harks back to the days when 'ships were ships', love it!

No, it was as a percentage of each blood type, not total numbers. It came true for the two of us!

Funnily enough I read a medical piece that said people with blood group O are far more likely to suffer the norovirus than other blood types.

Is that primarily statistical, since 'O' neg/pos make up ~ 44% of people, while the other types are less common?

One of the things I really LOVE about ship travel is the ability to watch TV. :D

Further to previous observations.....five years ago we were delayed for 6+ hours at Heathrow Airport, (we were among the lucky ones, some were forced to overnight), on our way to Prague from Toronto.

Turns out, despite the implausible 'explanations' offered, the delay was due to, (thankfully unsubstantiated), terror concerns; we arrived in Prague late, but the city hadn't sailed without us.

Ships? Not so much.

BTW, flying in a few hours before a cruise is a recipe for problems. A delay or missing connection and you miss your cruise.

Looks like you had good time in the Northern Territory, and I would say nothing seems to have changed since your visit. We we're looking into visiting the Ukraine next year too but unfortunately we just couldn't fit into our itinerary. Hope you do get there and have an awesome trip though I have my doubts even with translation in hand you will find your hummus, but I hear Ukrainians make some mean dumplings and cabbage rolls, hopefully that will satisfy.

I worked on the Ord River Project in Kununurra, WA, in 1962....drove to Cairns, thence (indirectly) to Adelaide....so I had a little exposure previously. ;)

Ukraine: We're booked on the Serenade of the Seas from Ft. Lauderdale - Copenhagen next April......will do as much land travel as possible post cruise - hope to spend some time in Lviv at least.

We're not 'foodies', so we eat whatever we can grab. :D

. Every form of tourism has some negative impact and as tourists knowing how we are impacting a destination both positive and negative is the best way to make informed decisions about our trips. .

Our hope is that people (in whatever country) might sometime say "Oh, we met a couple from there and they were great!"

If we can accomplish that we'd be happy.
