  1. Here is the Golden Lion menu from QM2 last week. The daily program made no mention of the Golden Lion offering dinner on any night of my voyage. Unfortunatley the day I had the fish & chips it wasn't good. You needed an axe to cut through the thick batter, the replacement dish was only marginally better !!

Here's a webcam for an already-seen port.  I've cropped out the data/time banner.  One of the port vehicles is just covering the ship's name on the stern, so bonus points for guessting the ship between QE/QV.

I would say Queen Elizabeth at Port Chalmers, Dunedin NZ.

With QE now back in Australia/NZ waters for the summer season, I was clicking through some old trip photo files and ran across this picture.  The buildings in the background might be familiar enough to identify this already-seen port.

    Good old Auckland, NZ.

Hi, we are on QE and we did not apply before the cruise because they told us it would be organized onboard.

We received a letter a few days prior to arriving to Indonesia saying that they would organize and charge 35USD pp.

Thank you very much for the information Barbara.

  5. To any Australians on board QE at the moment. Could you please tell me if you arranged your own Indonesian visae in advance or did the ship arrange visae for eveyone on arrival?

I am travelling on QM2 and visiting Indonesia next February and was wondering what the current situation is.

    Thank you.

  6. I have been sailing with Cunard for the last 12 years and came off my 6th Queen Elizabeth voyage last February. I can say that I was not disappointed at all. Yes, there has been some minor cost cutting, as to be expected in the current economic environment, but overall everything was up to my expectations. I did travel Britannia Club, and I would say that the dining room menu seemed be using lower cost ingredients but still cooked and presented very well. For example, there was no lobster offered this time on a 14 day voyage and the meat cuts in other dishes were of a slighly lower quality. However, I did seem to find that the main course servings were a bit larger than usual (that might be my imagination).

Anyway, overall I was very happy, even though we missed a few ports lol!!

  7. During a February 2023 Queen Elizabeth voyage, food and drink were not permitted in the Royal Court theatre. The notice below was in the daily program and notices were placed at the theatre entrances. Although it didn't seem to be actively policed, there were very few times where I noticed the rules being broken.

  8. I did stay in 8032 recently (the cabin next door ). It was a great cabin but occassionally there was a little bit of noise from the table tennis on the deck above and during bad weather some deck chairs from the Pavillion Pool were stacked up above which made a bit of noise. The Pavillion Bar directly upstairs was not in use. I think the hairdressing salon is directly above 8030. Overall any noise was minimal. However, from deck 8 it is a long trek down to the restaurant, bars and theatre on decks 2 and 3.

    Hope that helps a bit!

  9. Hi ClefsDor,

The other thing to take into account is that traditionally it is casual dress on departure nights and the nights prior to arrival (although Cunard do alter the latter one every now and then, especially on short 2 night 'sampler' cruises) . Your voyage has a number of ports so by the traditional rule it only allows a formal night between Fremantle and Adelaide. Although there are two possible nights here, you would not have consecutive formal nights. This may explain your situation.

Here's another website problem. I booked a cruise on Queen Anne the first day it was possible (the World Club day). I went into my account to look at the itinerary. I noticed that instead of the cabin number I chose, it says "Your cabin will be allocated closer to sailing" or something like this. My first response to this cannot be posted here.

So I emailed my TA. Her first reply also cannot be posted here. Her later reply said that the part of the site she can access shows my correct cabin number. I suspect their idiot IT people just put in placeholder copy on all QA reservations because things were moving so quickly. But they need to go back and update the records.

This might be a new anomaly for the Cunard site.  Yesterday I found the same thing for my QE cruise for next January. However, after digging down through the "Manage my booking/My Cunard" site I found the correct stateroom number listed in "Before you sail > Life on Board".

  11. Refund received!!

Queen Elizabeth Q010N ex Sydney 15 March 20

Cancelled by Cunard 14 March 20

Refund request lodged online 17 March 20

Follow up email to Cunard 25 May 20

Full cruise refund applied back to credit card 12 June 20 (appeared on statement today 15 June)

So just over 60 working days. I am in Sydney.

Hopefully the rest of you will start getting your refunds soon.
