  1. The problem we all have is that there is abuse in service dogs and handicap situation.

The abusers ruin it for the legit, there will always be abusers as long as there is something to be gained.

Easy fix, a national database of service dogs that can be confirmed.

  2. There are a few variables that could dictate any costs associated with dropping your dw off cabin. Ultimately best to confirm the costs for your specific cabin with Princess.

I dropped mil who can't sail for medical reasons and made cabin solo cabin for wife only. Ultimately no money changed hands....I guess technically not correct since we get the taxes back, but no fees and the way the cabin fare worked out, we just had to go to travel guard for her fare refund...but no special fees for this change.

Since no money changed hands but you claimed a refund for your mil, shouldnt your wife had paid for the full stateroom then as a single in the stateroom.

  3. The crime would not made a difference if you have wedges, deadbolt or chain.

He entered when the room was unoccupied, you need to be aware of your surroundings. Leave the curtains open to allow blind spots to be seen. Regardless if somone wants to hide in the room, they will find a way.

Best advice, dont be rude for no reason. I have seen vacationors or hotel guests think they are gods in their rooms and treat staff like slaves. A major problem in the hospitality fields.

  4. I purchased transfers on my embarkation day (April 6), as we arrive in MIA at 11:18.

I talked to a princess rep, this was what I was told; if you arrive in MIA you need to be at least 2.5 hours before the ships departure (which is at 4:00pm), if you are arriving at FLL, you need to be at least 1.5 early.

I would call them personally and confirm your transfer times

  5. If you are under 18 you don't get credit, as per princess website, "Children under 18 years old are not eligible for membership into the Princess Cruises Captain’s Circle. Children will accrue a cruise history and will be properly recognized beginning with their 1st cruise after turning 18. Children under 18 are not eligible to receive the Circle benefits."

  6. I too many people are taking formal night seriously, it is not the LAW on the ship for the day, or else they would not suggest or recommend other dining venues.

For most (I hope), formal night is a day for dressing up for a "date night", or family night, and get portraits done. Some of you know how hard it is to get the whole family together, and dressed up for a family portrait.

I remember an incident when myself and my companion were dressed up, and we saw a family not dressed up turned away, but that was because the father was wearing a "wife beater shirt and jeans". Only time ever I saw someone turned away.

As for laws being kind of suggestions, it kind of reminds me a joke I heard years ago.

An police officer stops a driver for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign

the driver says, "I slowed down, what's the difference?"

the officer pulls out his baton, and starts hitting the driver repetitively , and asks "Do you want me to slow down, or stop?"

Everyone assumes the speed limits are not set and you are allowed a small leeway, bet you if you were 2 mph over the limit, and they have you clocked doing it, and you cause a massive accident, they will charge you.

  7. This may be one of the few occasions that you may be able to get an upgrade by requesting it, but you can also shoot yourself in the foot and get a regular interior room if they have one available.

Don't expect you will get an upgrade before sailing, if they NEED the room, they will offer you an upgrade.

  8. Economics 101, Supply and Demand

The price increases are related to the demand, as long as there is a fixed supply.

It would happen to any other commodity that you pay extra on if the demand is more than the supply can offer. I bet a beer would cost a lot more if they were only allowed to stock 2000 a cruise.

As long as people are willing to pay the price, and they still sell out they will keep increasing the prices, if they notice on one cruise they only sell a few day passes I bet they will be announcing discounts on the patter after a few days.

You can complain all you like, but as long as someone is willing to pay the prices, and they are making good money on it, it won't change, it may even get more expensive.

The only way they will really listen is when they notice a drop in sales

  9. After many promotions, and mailings from the OPC

I finally booked one of the promotions on their 4-day western casino cruise over Halloween.

During the meet & greet on embarkation day, I had the pleasure to talk to Casino Host Niko, and Davor Markovic Executive Casino Host for princess.

There were approximately 220 Casino VIP's and their +1's, which made it a very busy casino as they supplied all drinks to us complementary as long as we were playing. The wait staff were quite sticklers on this (for obvious reasons), but I found some of the staff eased up on it a bit when you tipped them in cash, and came to you more often.

My question is, and I asked other VIP's this also, what was the cash amount they were offered to book the cruise. I got many different amounts, most were in the $50-$150 range. Myself personally, I was offered $1000, but I wasn't play that much as far as I though in the past (5000+ points).

I have already received new offers that expire at the end of the month.

This last cruise was a win-win situation, as we got back the full amount of the cruise (free cruise promotion), and we won the raffle for a free 7-day Mexican/Caribbean cruise, where you got 1 ticket for ever 1000 points for the draw.

but I am wondering what Princess have offered others.

  10. Could it be the number you are calling the princess agent from?

Different numbers reach different call centers, also they transfer customers to other call centers depending how busy they are at the moment.

I always ask where they are located when I call in, I get Vancouver or Seattle sometimes.

Maybe if you get Vancouver its in cdn, Seattle it's in usd, and their main system in the personalizer has been updated to accept the different currencies. Maybe a glitch.
