Keep stalking it. It was sold out when I booked the cruise but they made more available 11 days before the cruise.

We sailed on the Destiny for our honeymoon in Jan 1998 and I just found one of our cards. It was both the door card, entry/exit and drink card. Though I was trying to remember what our cabin number was and it is (for obvious reasons) not printed on the S&S card.

So I can't tell you exactly when it all started but at least on the Destiny it was that way and I would assume it was that way when she was built.

We cruise this Monday on the Triumph. Our FB group has about 100 people and several reported getting calls from the upSELL fairy a couple of days ago. It was interesting to monitor the rates and availability on carnival.com. Went from all room types available to no suites available, to no balconies, to now only insides left as they moved people up. No one reported (or admitted) to getting a free upgrade, usually just the difference between what they paid and what the current booking price was minus a few bucks.

Fortunately, I do have the flexibility with my work schedule to book within the 30 days, however, how close can you book before the actual cruise date these days?

We sale on the 27th and they are still accepting bookings via the website. However the prices are not as low as when I booked right at 4 weeks out. I would consider the rate we got exceptional. Of course its in the middle of the off season so they are trying to fill the boat. June/July prices are nearly double.

So, the FTTF passes are sold out for my cruise. I wish I had known about them earlier. But, I've read comments on CC that indicate that sometimes they release more. I

Does this happen for every cruise? Do they release a lot or just a couple? When do they normally release them?

Sailing 1/27 on the Triumph, they were sold out when we booked the cruise. They released 20 more 16 days prior to cruising and we picked one up. The remaining lasted a few hours. Keep stalking it and you might get lucky. At some point as they upgrade people to suites, people drop etc they might release more.
