the lady gave me a short sample (1 minute) of each of the kinds of massages they offer. She asked me if I wanted to book but it wasn't a hard sell, I would do it again, This was on Enchantment.

Yes it's on Enchantment.  I've never seen it on any of my other cruises.

  2. Go and register the kids on the first day Adventure Ocean open house. In pastimes, the kids club had lanyards and will punch a hole in their cards so the kids can wear them. Not sure if they still have lanyards as my kids have outgrown the club. If you are on a newer ship, you can buy them WOW bands which would let them into the rooms but I don't think they can be used in the arcade; I believe you have to swipe your card there.  And yes - I found out the hard way - that kids can spend way more then they should in the arcade.

  3. My son turned 18 on a cruise out of Bahamas (18 to drink there).  He was kicked out of the teens club so I spoke with the Diamond Concierge and she was able to get my son his full 'adult' benefits. He was allowed to use his Diamond drinks for alcoholic beverages.  And before anyone asks, he did not get drunk and act like a jerk; he was just excited to be treated like an adult. 😜

  4. Your daughter will be fine on the smaller ships.  I used to have to drag my kids out of Adventure Ocean at night and in the morning they were so excited to go back and play.  My boys have a million awards metals from the games the staff ran. Depending on the cruise, we tried to do excursions the kids would enjoy as well - lots of snorkeling in the Caribbean (my boys are both swimmers).  We did take the kids to Alaska.  They were a little older by then so we did zip-lining and bike riding although 6.5 may be too young for those types of excursions.

  5. Before they killed the Upgrade Fairy, I went from a Balcony room on Anthem to a Grand Suite - over Christmas no less - for no extra charge!

Now you can 'Royal Up'.  So, you buy a balcony for $5000, and bid on a Grand suite for $400 where the cost of booking was originally $10000, and if you win the upgrade (now a total of $5800), you "saved" $4200.

So .... how many suites are they actually selling at $20000?

  6. We just got back from an 8 day on Anthem with 9 and 12 yr old boys. We felt there was plenty for the kids to do. The 9 yr old will be able to go to Adventure Ocean (my son always begged to stay longer). The 12 yr old will be in the teen program (they run some structured activity in the Living Room - though it's mostly a hangout). There is also the seaplex with some table games and the Xbox area which my boys loved to hangout and play with their friends.

The system worked well for us except that 12 yr olds need a parent/guardian present if they want to do any activities like bumper cars or roller skating. This is really only a 'problem' if you allow your 12 yr old to be independent on the cruise and they want to go with their new best friends while you are at a show. (Don't forget to sign your waivers) However, 13 yr olds can do the activities without a parent present.

If you want to do iFly or Flowrider - book time as early as possible. They sold out very quickly.

  7. Does anyone know if the WOW bands are usable in the arcade or do you still have to swipe the barcode on your seapass? I was thinking of purchasing the bands for my boys since they are waterproof and the kids have lost their cards in the pool on previous cruises.

    Thanks for your help!

    This time next week - I'll been on a boat :D !!
