  1. Does NCL have wheelchairs that can be rented or of use free. If we are able to take my laws I know he won't be to stand in a long check in line or walk very far from taxi to check in. He won't need one on the cruise itself. But might getting off the ship at ports if the walk is long to their excursion bus, train or where they might go? He doesn't use one at home but does in an airport. If they are with me I drop them at door and then park at any stores or restaurant.

  2. If we did a 2 bedroom with a connecting mini would the mini get suite perks also? I really would like for my inlaws to come but we can't really swing 2 suites. And to be honest I'm being selfish and don't want to give up suite perks for my own family.

  3. The inlaws are interested in coming with us, on the jewel. So 4 adults and 2 very skinny teen girls. Would a 2 bedroom suite be super uncomfortable? I wish we could swing the 3 bedroom villa but it's really not an option. We do all want a suite, for the perks. What's y'all opinion on space?

  4. Just briefly read through those sites added in cruise auction when searching. Maybe it would be fun to watch but then I would get really uhm.. Let's just say "unhappy" of elderly or anyone really anyone thinking they were getting some kind of rare art and being taken advantage of. And the more free alcohol the more I would be "unhappy" we will stay away. Shoot I was really hoping it was something different, although I don't what.

  5. We do like auctions but are not going to waste cruise time bidding on art I can purchase at home. Thank you I just didn't want miss out on a fun time. I thought maybe it was a play on words or heck I don't even know what else but To each their own, we can skip it.

  6. I get it's an auction but I don't understand why on a cruise ship. Is it a fun time, something not to be missed. Like an activity or what? Sorry for the stupid question but I'm sure more are to follow.

  7. As a parent of three children, one being an angel now, my heart goes out to them. Not knowing the circumstance, I do know that little one can escape you despite best supervision , speaking from from a parent's view of a Houdini(don't even get me started on her young escapes.). However any child of that age, regardless of swim abilities , needs an adult IN the pool with them. Life guard or not This mom and dad, and grandparent, will forever live with.... If only I had done...

  8. So to get this straight we can hand cash over or an envelope the last full day, to butler and other a pertaining to suite. If we want to give extra to waitstaff, or bartender we can leave extra tip at table or find them last full day. And leaving a daily tip in suite for housekeeping is acceptable. I'll be honest I feel a little self conscious about seeking someone out to give them a tip but if it's the norm then "bottoms up" it's how it's done. And I can deal with that, myself. Can I get an amen sister you got the hang of it now.

  9. Is acceptable for my teens to tip the "kids" staff themselves on the last night? If of course they actually go and have a great time We have always had them give a tip themselves when getting their hair done or occasional nails. I apologize for the noob questions but I really don't want to look like an idiot on our first cruise.

  10. My question is how is it done? I understand the standard 12.50 a day pp covers most. But we have a suite and will be using the butler for room service meals. Do we hand him/her cash last day? Are there envelopes? Also for the other people like concierge and room steward( don't even know what that person does). I figure if it's the butler that brings meals a few bucks but not if it's the bluet as he will get a large on at the end. Waitstaff is up to us if we feel they did above and beyond, right? What about housekeeping? We always leave a small tip daily for our cleaners in hotel as we usually ask for extra towels or toiletries. Is that the same on a cruise?

  11. I have been price comparing with online TA's. The price was the same and the OBC was anywhere from 50 to 150. I wish it was 10%!! I need to build a relationship with a TA, I guess to get that. I book everything myself ( flights and hotels) and this is our first cruise, but hopefully not our last.

  12. This is our first cruise and I am a bit overwhelmed. I know where we want to go and when, but after that it all goes over my head. I've read many threads about pro's and con's of booking DIY vs using a TA. I have found tons of TA's on the Internet but how do I know if they are any good or even legitimate? Obviously I'm looking for the best price and the most OBC, but it all seems the same. ANy words of wisdom for this future cruiser?
