We always stay at Hotel Golden. This is a small family-run hotel that will arrange transport to and from the cruise port. You will pay for this but the price is reasonable.

What did you use for transportation from the hotel to the port? We are thinking of staying here and wanted a reliable transportation.

  2. Does anyone know what is considered acceptable formal wear for children? I have an 11 year old boy and an 8 year old girl. I am especially concerned about the boy since it is easier to dress up sundresses for my daughter. Do boys need to wear ties and jackets? Or can they wear slacks/khakis and a dress shirt/collared polo shirt? And what about the other nights in the MDR? We are sailing the Seaview next summer in the Mediterranean. Thank you in advance for any insight you may have!

You will be fine having him in khakis and a polo or dress shirt when we were on Divina in Aug I saw many kids and a lot of young men in this outfit on the dressier nights from the YC down so it will be fine and you guys will have a blast. My son hates suits and this is his go-to outfit on ships on formal nights and we have never felt he was underdressed or had anyone say he was not properly dressed for the occasion.

  3. We will be in Genoa on the MSC Meraviglia on Dec 24th it is just myself and my husband ( we left the kids at home)This is the only port we did not get a shore excursion for I am hoping there will be some things to do around the port area can anyone tell me what options there are or that they have done in the past when in this port? I also understand this will be Christmas Eve and there could be a lack of options open has anyone been in this port on Christmas Eve if so what was open or what did you do? Thank you for any help you can provide and happy holidays!

  4. I love photos so will definitely be purchasing a package ahead of time. I understand the 100 photos for 99.00 from the information that everyone has posted here on the site. I am seeing a new option that I have not seen before and was wondering if anyone has purchased or has information on this package. It is the VIP photo sea card. It says it gives you all your photos in digital form which is 52.00. Does this include all photos even the Gala pictures? If you take 200 photos all are included and you have rights to print at Costco or a CVS? Sounds too good to be true?

For our trip in Dec I was able to get the digital photo package for $52.00 , I think this is a better deal compared to the other packages on my last cruise we got the 199.00 for 100 photos this was just too many to carry off and I did not like them all but still took them because I paid for them. I think simply printing mine off back home is going to work better and also we post most of our photos on social media anyway so all the prints will go to waste. I called and the rep said that it is any and every photo we have taken on the ship so this would include the gala photos.

  5. The Black card is part of the Voyagers Club MSC Cruises loyalty program gives you more benefits, more discounts, and more perks like discounts on future cruises, stateroom credits drink tickets. A list of which you can find here https://www.msccruisesusa.com/en-us/...efit_USA_1.pdf .

The YC is a category of stateroom you get private dining room, private lounge, all your dinks though out the ship, priority boarding, butler, and a ton of other benefits we love the YC it is one of the only reasons we have chosen this line. They have an excellent description at the start of the forum for MSC, and on the site as well there is also a video on YouTube of all the YC amenities.

  6. They sent me a description thank you for all the help for anyone interested this is the description of the excursion.

Get off the ship and spend a day in magnificent Milano, the 2nd largest city in Italy as regards to population, politics and cultural affairs, and the first in the field of commerce, industry and banking. After 2-hour coach drive on the motorway from Genoa, you will reach this cosmopolitan city to meet your guide and begin an 1,5-hour guided walking tour that will unveil some of Milan’s best spots. Following your guide, you will start from Piazza Castello until reaching “La Scala” – Milan’s Opera House inaugurated in 1778, and “Galleria Vittorio Emanuele and Catedral Square, the real heart of the city. Enjoy some free time in “Piazza Duomo” looking for a nice place to have lunch or, for the braver, to climb up the gold statue “Madonnina”, the statue of the Virgin Mary placed atop the Cathedral. Alternatively, if you are a shopping lover, Milan is the place to be as it is worldwide renowned for its designer shops including Gucci, Armani, and Versace, and for its stylish ambience. Take some time to shop around or simply window browsing. Your 2-hour coach drive to Genoa port and your cruise ship ends this exclusive excursion. Please note: this tour is only for guests in transit in Genoa port and includes long periods of walking. It is considered unsuitable for guests using a wheelchair.

  7. I am booking our excursions or trying to anyway for Genoa Italy for our December trip, there is one called Magnificent Milan GOA23, however, there is no description an issue I am running into on many of these excursions I am looking at. Has anyone done this excursion? Or does anyone have scans of the excursions handout they have on the ship? I tried to search the forums but there was no information so anything information would be a big help thank you.

  8. We will be on the Dec 22nd sailing of the MSC MERAVIGLIA and I am prebooking our shows we decided to do drinks and the show for one, and dinner and the show for another, however, I do not see anywhere when they list what the times for the show, are there multiple times through a day like RCCL Ice show? Or is it only one set time per night show? I wanted to see how the show times will work with our dinner time we are in the YC so are flexible but we like to eat later. Thank you for all any help. :)

  9. We will also be on this cruise and I was wondering the same thing we booked the Baroque Tour through the ship just to be safe because if they were not able to show the places listed we would get out money back.

  10. I am not sure about the shots however for the food what category are you staying in? if you are in the YC you get the YC dining room and other areas included that is different from the other categories that only have the main dining room and the buffet along with some of the quick service such as pizza. I am also on this cruise on Sat and am also excited this is a link to the food available on the cruise https://www.msccruisesusa.com/en-us/Discover-MSC/On-Board/Dining-Restaurants/Main-Restaurants.aspx including the included restaurants.

  11. It was wonderful the crew was fantastic my husband got sick and was unable to make it, so one of the guys went in the water snorkeling with my son. We also dropped out GoPro luckily it was not in the deepest part of the ocean when we stopped for snorkeling and paddleboarding, and the other crew members jumped in and drove it I was thankful. They were so much fun, and it was not to Rocky I do not like small boats at all, and I had no issues with the boat it was one of the best excursions I have taken I have already decided that next time we will book them again. My son just laid out on the front of the boat for most of it and relaxed along with the rest of us, sadly we did not see any whales, but that was ok it was still completely worth the money and the day we spent. I do not think anyone will need to worry about seasickness like I said it was a slow and relaxing time with good snacks and good drinks I can not wait to do it again the next time we are out that way.

  12. We will be on the Norwegian Jewel in March and have booked the Cabo San Lucas Private Sailing Charter with Island Marketing LTD. Has anyone done this before? If so did you enjoy it and were there any issues? Was the company reliable? We have an early start due to the short time in port and just want to make sure that we picked a good company. Thank you for any help or advice on this you can give.

  13. In august, we took both of our kids my son who was 11 and my daughter who was 16 they both had fun my son did a lot of the kids club activities I also got my son the VIP thing they have so he got to take special tours of the ship and the bridge. My son is willing to go back and said he had a blast, I think your kids will enjoy it also.

  14. I just booked a Panama Canal cruise on the celebrity infinity we got the sky suite 6118 I just read a review that this cabin has a obstructed view that makes seeing the canal difficult is this true? There was no notation about this when I looked on the celebrity site. Also, does anyone have any photos or video of this stateroom? I can not seem to find any. Thank you for any help you can provide!

  15. My mother decided to join us on a girls cruise in August on the Divina so I changed out our YC suite with a balcony to the family suit so we only needed one stateroom. I just noticed that the stateroom has no balcony only floor to ceiling windows, It is my fault for not reading more when I booked it I suppose I just assumed looking at the photos the windows were doors to the balcony.

My question is does this affect the room if you have never sailed in anything besides a balcony? Does it still feel open or do you feel confined?

  16. Hello, I have booked two cruises for this year on MSC YC it will be our the first time with the line we have sailing in August and December, and we have 2018 vacation planned with celebrity, so I wanted to book one or two more for 2019 as well. How early does MSC usually open sailings I know celebrity has opened some of their 2019 along with some other lines. Thank you and any information is helpful I cannot wait to try out this line.
