We never go without our little 8" fan. We have never been questioned about it.

I have booked GS before. Once I got a great cabin and last time I got a cabin that backed up to an extreme work area. I think it was part of the galley and the noise went on all night. I stayed in that cabin the first two nights. I went to guest services and just inquired as to what was behind me that was so loud all night. I never expected that they offered to let me move. They told me to pack up and they would send two people up to help me to my new cabin.
As far as staying by the elevator. I had cabin that backed up to the elevator and never heard any noise.

We stayed at a Ramada Inn in Metarie and was very pleased with it. Left our car there for 7 nights. The shuttle took us to the port. We did have to provide our own transportation back to the hotel. Took a cab for about $24. The hotel was clean and we were able to park in a light up area. No problems. Would do it again.

I think it sounds like a great idea. I live in the Texas hill country and Corpus is a much easier drive for me.

I would welcome some live duo/trio playing calypso type music. That's what sets the mood. I haven't heard any of that in a few years. Seems like it has been replaced by the way too loud DJ's that make your ears bleed. Love the action on the Lido, but the music has made me retreat to the lido aft or the serenity area. Any change would be an improvement in my opinion.

Stayed at the Ramada Inn in Metarie. Paid just over $100, but they let me leave my vehicle and had a free shuttle to the port. Had to take a taxi back to motel. The Ramada in was pretty nice.
